Say anything about film but superb in cinematography and acting of Ash is very superb and all above any actor of the film. She never seems as she is wife (in real life) of abhishek in the film but abhi sometimes reacts like. Abhi has acted a childish behavior.

I watched both Tamil and the Hindi version of this film, both of them were superb. not only from the point of view of the cinematography. Stop blaming Mani, for Abishek's performance. If Mani has failed as a director in bringing out stellar performance's from his actors, you ought to watch the Tamil version, and be blown away by Vikram's performance. For people who love Mani's work and want to see a movie with substance and mind blowing performance, I highly recommend this movie.

Mani Ratnam goes away from the Bollygood movies we are used to. He makes different kind of movies. Desies are not used to his istyle.

Moreover, the there was no script in this movie except for the last 15 minutes.

Great let down in the hindi version was the dialogue.... whoever wrote the dialogue, screwed up everything in hindi...

the Movie is one of best from Mani's..it makes full impact when u watch it in theater, and not screen captured copy...Im really Amazed when someone say its worst.. I suggest u plz see it again with fresh mind.. (without having your personal problems in mind).. Acting is not the Only thing to observe.. I'm still not understanding why people think it was a bad movie! I thoroughly enjoyed it, much more so after watching it because it made me think about certain scenes and their "real" meaning. Anyway, it amazes me how people are really dumb these days to not give critically acclaimed non-commercial films a chance. People just don't want to think anymore. Although the plot was choppy, the images really told the story without much dialogue. Best movie so far this year!!

One of the worst movies I have seen in recent times. Total waste of money owing to the dismal performances of Aish and Abhishek. They both have complemented each other with stone and plastic expressions. I even felt both of them were trying to imitate Amitabh's husky voice in many scenes. I would kindly request Big B to send both Aish and Abhishek to some acting school to learn the nuances of this art. If not then please make the walk on the ramp, where they actually belong.

Since film fraternity doesn't shy away from even awarding worst movies just to please Amitabh and family, I won't be shocked if both of them win best actor award or the film is sent to Oscars as India's official entry. i watched thiz movie, eventhough the story is known earlier, but the cinematography, performance and music was absolutely brilliant...its amazing!! a must watched film, i will say its the best film ever i've seen so far, hats off to mani ratnam....!!
