Kinda *Sniiifffff* Sounds like *sniffffff* ....you're speaking *snifffffffff* through your *snifffff* .... throat.. *sniffffff* ...Kinda sounds ok though........... *Snifffffff*
Dude, it's Rorschach, not a Star Wars character. :P I'll give you this much: the gravelly tone works well. But, Rorschach was born and bred in NYC, he wouldn't have some weird cybernetic space villain accent.
Thanks for thoughtful comment DrExtra. If I had actually been going for Kermit terminally ill I could brag rather than be crestfallen. I'll do better next time. Thanks for watching.
That was god-awful. Even if the voice is "monotone", you still have to be able to convey emotion and timing to the lines- Moore's writing is like poetry and it would be a shame to distract from it with an outlandish novelty voice.
Thanks davehand. It's nice to get constructive criticism. You've defied the odds her on You Tube. People usually get real nasty. I appreciate your comment.
he makes a point about how Rorschach would change his voice, but i don't think it would sound that deep. i looked on the site and i don't think the actor they got looks like the guy under the mask. maybe they'll have two actors like in fantastic four witht the silver surfer.
I doubt that he would have a different voice when he have his costume off, because his personality has become twisted and thorned, that's why he got such a montonus voice. Maybe for the flachbacks at his younger days he could have a slightly different voie...
If you read the text in the book, you'll see their are two completely different voices. Even when Rorschach is in prison, without his mask he does'nt talk monotonously.
You're might have a point there, Covacs would probably camuflage his voice while while being dressed as Rorchack. But I doubt that he vould seem or sound totally sane. Yes, I've seen that interview. If it was a cartoon he should have dubbed it :)
You can find Moore doing a reading from Watchmen from one of the Rorschach diary segments, I really like your rendition but I don't think anyone can do Rorschach's voice like Moore can,
Thanks for the input burlearth. Your fanboy is in full flame on mode. Hence forward I now know "Watchmen". Do you think though that Rorshach could modify his voice to sound "tougher" under his mask?
Enjoyed your interpretation. Sometimes think Watchmen would be effective as an animated film. Never will happen but in that case voice quality increases in importance. Ya got style, sure you'll go far.
Commodore I listened to some of your comments and you had some great thoughts on the Watchmen. Hope you keep after filmaking. It is a merciless task master but can yield wonderful things.
haha, sounds good. im also a bit skeptical of this movie. i have a video about my worries regarding the watchmen movie on my channel, check it out if you want to. good job though.
The breathing actually allows me to do that crazy voice without shredding vocal chords. Admittedly the choice is out there. As far as Mexican we never did really know who Rorshach's father was. His mother did seemed to dally with multiple partners. Kidding, I think the "accent" is also somehow dicated by the extreme vocal choice. Best
Thanks for you honest critique Lemon. The breathing and other vocalizations were my attempt to capture the "Hrrm's", yes I said "Hrrm's", that Alan Moore gave Rorshach. Something weird was definetely being indiated by Moore and Gibbon's when it came to how Rorsach spoke. We'll see what that weirdness is in 2009.Best
Thank you Dunes. It's fun to try to put on Rorshach's skin. I think Zach Snyder has locked in Jackie Earle Haley for the part though. I just checked IMDB on the film and looks like they've pushed production back to 2009 ( I think they were talking about releasing in 2008?) 2009 will allow them much more time. The Graphic Novel is just a masterpiece, Dr. Manhattan's Monologues on Mars with The Silk Spectre are worth the price of admission alone. Best.
Good job man,I followed your dialouge very well from the copy I have. I hope you get to portray Rorschach when the Watchmen film is made. Rorschach--he kicks ass and we all know it!
I appreciate that cha. Just a thought kicking around in my head. Getting to the people making Watchmen is a whole other kettle of fish. Turning Graphic novel to film is a huge undertaking.

But he did talk monotone. There's no change or inflection whatsoever, that's what monotone means.

I don't know if you meant to reply to my post, but I said nothing about monotone much less misunderstand its meaning. ;)

Good effort. However, it truly sounds like Kermit the frog with cancer speaking through a voice box apparatus.

You were close though if you seen the trailer. Supposedly the actor would do push ups and scream as loud as he can to get it.
Hyde1415 3 years ago
Yeah, dude. I appreciate your fanhood and all but, no offense, it kinda sounds like a cancer patient with a speaking apparatus.
