  • That was amazing been wanting to make time-lapse vid. Btw what ever happened to the soda factory movie?

  • @blacklabbiker25 Thanks! The soda factory film didn't follow through because I ended up moving out of the area and we didn't have the footage or time to create a sufficient film. It was too bad since we had some killer footage, but we plan to create some more films/videos with soda factory in the near future.

  • So how about the panning movements. How are you going about that?

  • @laughatstoners All the panning/tilting moves were done in post, by simply punching in a bit, and automating the frame to pan or tilt, all done in fcp.

  • Amazing! How did you get that hammock shot? In other words, how did you make it so the hammock was in slow motion, but the sky was in fast motion? Same with the flower shot. It's so cool.

  • @snowconedxx39 Thanks, The hammock/flower shot were done by simply shooting the hammok swinging in slow mo, then afterwards shooting the timelapse. Then in post i take those separate files and take the lower half of the video of the hammok, and the top half for the timelapse. One is just matte'd on top of the other. You can see the divider is the mountain/trees

  • Loved the hammock shot. Glad I subbed, thanks for the positive influence.

  • Well done!

  • Finally steve! I was really surprised when I saw a new video from this channel haha. College going well? How are you converting the minolta lenses to fit your 60D? I shoot with a 60D and have a couple old FD mount lenses and a cheap adapter, but I rarely use it because the adapter quite frankly sucks. Do you know how I could convert those lenses?

  • @EinYeTi Haha college is going well thanks. For my minoltas, ive been basically rebuilding the mount from scratch. I disassemble the lens, remove aperture clicks, then work backwards reassembling it with a new canon mount. The minolta lenses are only .5mm off of canon lenses, so its easy to shave off some metal and bring the lens a little closer in on the mount. FD lenses are 2mm farther distance than eos, so it would be much more tricky to convert, but yes still possible.

  • p.s. does this mean that you made an adapter to fit to your 60D for every one of your minoltas?

  • @cinematicattic No i havent changed the 60D's mount, instead ive been converting each minolta lens to canon mount, much harder but worth it so I can keep using canon lenses as well.

  • hey griggs finally you put a new video haha, very good time lapse love it. i jsut bought my canon t3i too, watch my vids. peace out and do more vids!!

  • Steve, this is brilliant, how did you expose for nighttime???? All of the nighttime shots are just perfection, every time I try to shoot for night it's grain city. You are actually a god, it is so good to see your stuff again. All of this is so smooth, and the hammock shot is like sex on a stick, I love it.

  • @cinematicattic haha thanks man!

The night shots are achieved with very slow shutter speeds. I usually shoot night time lapses with a 20-30sec long exposure time at around an f/8 with an iso around 100-200. And each frame is captured around 45sec intervals.

  • You're Ron Fricke part 2.

  • oooooh shit you beat me to it! i've been saving zodiac shit for years, good to see you're back mang

  • Amazing vid bro! Flying Lotus was the perfect choice!

  • Incredible man. Hammock shot blew me away. Want to go to Colorado so bad now.

  • sooo sick man... seen tons of great time lapses. tons... but you've really got your own style to it, from your choice of pans, zooms. your color correcting.. its all good. whats going down for the hammock, are you using mattes there? stoked upon more releases.

  • @BrockGN Thanks man, yeah that shot was just spliced together between the horizon. Time lapse of clouds on top, slowed down footage of the hammock on the bottom, simple, yet cool effect.

  • diggin all your work man, killer stuff

  • Dude, your films blow my mind! This looks AMAZING! Incredible work.

  • I'm glad to see that your back to posting videos! Its been a while.
