Just as the people in Brave New World haven't the slightest idea about the restraints of the society they're in - and couldn't care less -, we likely won't realize that our society is becoming anything like theirs was. It's amazing, though - without mind control, the majority of our society's thinking could become so narrow over time. I'm probably considered a nut for thinking this, though.

If you think about it, the world really is like Brave New World now. There is virtually no privacy remaining in the world with the popularization of the internet along with its social networking services (facebook). Sexual intercourse has become nothing but a social activity. Fidelity in relationships and marriage is becoming increasingly less conspicuous. I can go on, but you just have to think about it. Besides mind control through sleep teaching and banning of books, we're already there.

Of course, in Totalitarian societies like the Soviet Union, book banning did occur on a tremendous scale as it did in Brave New World where anything considered contradictory to the state's beliefs in the slightest was banned. In today's society, the majority of countries still allow the reading of material whether or not it's contradictory to the incumbent government's views.

@purodoyer thats a herd one, but i would say Piece of mind, Seventh son of a seventh son, powerslave, killers, or brave new world. those are my favorites, get them. then after you have those ones, get all the other 10 or so, and a live album. definitely worth it, man. some other ones would be the x-factor (some hate it, i love it), iron maiden (debut album), all the 80's albums, fear of the dark , etc.
