The IDF chose the time and method of their intervention, at night, preceded by firing from ships... that hardly gives them the element of surprise, nor the atmosphere for peaceful boarding. So, at about 1 min, we can see blood on a wall near a ladder, above some overturned chairs, and there are no alarms, tannoy, helicopters or commandos coming down ropes, yet and there are Targeting laser sights being aimed down. So, one can only conclude that someone got injured or killed before the Commandos even boarded. Hardly self defence by the IDF is it? If there are laser sights beeing pointed down, it means that the upper deck is probably cleared. Which we know wasn't the case at the first helicopter boarding.

I know what a paint gun sounds and looks like, I also know how real guns look, feel and sound, but these onboard were not soldiers. If they thought they were under live fire, and surrounded by the IDF which killed Rachel Corrie and Tom Hurndall (both unarmed), they would try to defend themselves.

Note that this is a private company, which perhaps been doing this without knowing of any official in Israel. There is a lot money involved, the temptetion is quite big. I doubt Israel would endanger it's relations with Turkey by getting close to Kurds. As for landing sites, they were avialable in Turkey, why prefer landing in Kurdistan?

So, at about 1 min, we can see blood on a wall near a ladder, above some overturned chairs, and there are no alarms, tannoy, helicopters or commandos coming down ropes, yet and there are Targeting laser sights being aimed down. So, one can only conclude that someone got injured or killed before the Commandos even boarded. Hardly self defence by the IDF is it? Cos the only pistols they found on the ship, were the ones taken from 3 commandos disarmed during the attack on the ship.

@surikanta Yes, I have seen that in the meantime, but it would seem that the passengers didn't all know, and the Israelis (who say they neither expected nor desired violent confrontation) didn't warn that they would board in this manner or what they were firing. Commandos are trained, and should know that if you open fire before boarding, and throw percussion grenades in a pre-dawn raid, the people you're attacking won't give you the benefit of the doubt re whether you're using live rounds

If there are laser sights beeing pointed down, it means that the upper deck is probably cleared. Which we know wasn't the case at the first helicopter boarding.
I think what we see is the second wave of boarding, and the blood is the aftermath of the first one.

Doing that in a pre-dawn raid, (as they would well know) is not going to seem like an 'inspection' to anyone on the Mavi Marmara. Would you keep your head above deck to check if it's a live round of not? Given what the IDF did to Tom Hurndall, Rachel Corrie & countless Palestinians, I'm not surprised passengers decided to repel them

Nor can you judge the decency of what the soldiers were doing there. She was brave (but wrong, if you ask me).
Every civilian person who enters an area of military activity should take into account that he might get hurt, all the more so if he confronts one of the involved sides. The flotilla case is extactly the same: civilians entering a war zone, taking a side.

I know what a paint gun sounds and looks like, I also know how real guns look, feel and sound, but these onboard were not soldiers. If they thought they were under live fire, and surrounded by the IDF which killed Rachel Corrie and Tom Hurndall (both unarmed), they would try to defend themselves.

The deaths of Israelis and Palestinians underscores the urgent need to restore justice and work for peace in the area, rather than to feed the cycle of death and suspicion, which is a cancer on the area.

@jakobsemedela This blockade that stopped everyday items like paper and chocolate from getting through, that stopped the rebuilding of the sewerage system, and the replacement of faulty equipment in hospitals... was about preventing more deaths? I'm not happy to hear of Iran sending stuff... talk about two countries with ZERO trust for each other... There's also a boat load of German Jews coming as well. As for the crossings, Israel and Egypt have been very strict on what gets through.

@jimbobeire Perhaps the Israelis are letting more stuff through, now that there is serious pressure to lift the blockade... hopefully we will soon have a fair situation that ensures enough aid gets through, and checks to make sure that Israel can be sure no war materials get through. I think, the Israeli population may be genuinely afraid of letting stuff through, but I think the politicans actually just want to strangle Gaza for their own purposes.

Israel have suggested that the aid will be delivered to Gaza after Israeli inspection, a deligation from the flottila could observe the process.
They didn't agreed to that because their aim was to braek the siege rather than delivering that specific aid to Gaza.

hamas is not the only recipient of the aid material. it is very easy to understand that hamas dont want to receive aid material which was not addressed to him.

IDF never wanted to do anything with that ship, the engagement was enforced on IDF by ship's persistence to arrive to Gaza despite the legitimate blockade!
(Reminder: Israel is in war with Hamas. International law sees blockade as a legitimate in case of war. It is even considered more humane since doesn't involve actual violence!)
