hi josh. very nice video for beginners. hope to see more from your videos. the video itself looks little bit laggy. that's according to the graphics card you are using.
one more things, for the arrows drawn on the video, please take a look at snagIt stamps. you can make better arrows and circles including test and on screen instructions using that software
Is there a key that I can hit that will allow me to switch from NAV to GPS? I'm flying a plane that doesn't have a NAV/GPS button, but I need to be on GPS. I have no idea what the key would be... any ideas?
I did that. Most aircraft have one, but this particular airplane doesn't have one. I'm looking for a key that will allow me to use the GPS/NAV since there isn't one on the aircraft, although there is the dials for NAV/GPS. Just no button to click.
a silly question .. iv jus bought and installed fsx, and after turning off the laptop to sleep, in the morning i cant find where it is saved ! ... what shall i do ? it doesnt come up with anything when i search fsx
Simple, Quick and easy. Great tutorial. Also to add that lots of other planes will just need the same buttons pressed. (Learjet 45 has the exact same instructions)
alright i copied everything you did except los angelous to O'Hare 10000 feet and everything and i turn on the nav and my plane just starts to sink. it does nothing? Can anyone help
Question my plane keeps decreasing speed around 10,000 feet and drops to the ground???? what am i doing wrong?? I have followed all the instructions from this video....using fsx
@zusjegeoff check to make sure your ALTitude and Speed-hold buttons are set and that they're set to the CORRECT speed and altitude. Let me know whether or not you make progress there. You can see what speed and altitude your autopilot is set at by looking at the primary display. It shows the little pink markers and numbers.
and also have their landing lights on.. not only that but in real life you have to leave whats called a SID (Standard Instrument Departure).. and each Runway has many different SIDS
Question: When u flying visual and ATC says that airport is 23 miles at 9 oclock, does it mean that the airport is to left of you? Or if they say 1 oclock, does it mean that the airport is straight ahead slightly to the ritght? Is there a degree calculation for this jargon? Thank you.
Good question. I'm surprised that most of the people interested in flying don't know what this means. Imagine your plane is in the center of a clock. So if they tell u Six o'clock, you have to rotate the plane on a 180 degree turn (turn it around). Same goes for all other, meaning 11 o'clock stands for a 30~35 degree turn to the left and 5 o'clock stands for a 135~140.
You should be climbing at a 15 degree atitude in a 747 until reaching climb 1 then u lower the nose to 10 degrees , 2000 vertical speed wont give you that, and you cant fly 2350 nots below 10,000 faa rules say 250 or below when under 10,000 feet.

350 knots? That's pushing overspeed a lil' too much...
CubesForAKid 1 year ago
@CubesForAKid thats nowhere near overspeed. 747-400's limit is 491 knots
baklc 11 months ago
@baklc strange, cuz when im going like 350, it says OVERSPEED.....
theoblivionmaniac 8 months ago
@theoblivionmaniac it says 491 on the 747-400 kneeboard in FSX
baklc 8 months ago
@baklc well, i don't say that i don't believe you, but for me it's 350 knots....

Look for a NAV/GPS dial.

Can you start the autopilot before you get to the altitude it's set for?
kyyrol 2 years ago
You can. But it is not advised too.
EDukeeey 2 years ago
not advised to??
climbing and descending on autopilot is a very common thing...
robinprins 2 years ago
Yes but it depends on which altitude you are heading for.
With the nose to highg which sometimes hapens in crosswinds (even if you have an altitude speed on), which can cause stall.
EDukeeey 2 years ago
Buy not advised to I mean most people dont have it on before takeoff. They have it set but not selected
EDukeeey 2 years ago
yeah, okay thats right:)

Just do " Shift+3" if its some thing different that pops up, do the same thing except not the number 3, try 12456789.
EXAMPLE: Shift+5 is the overhead
Then try Shift+2. maybe it will pop up
