I was shown to spread my cards out, mix them bout... like dominoes... and then gather them together... I also was shown that you have 5 cards, 2 in the center, crossed, then around like you had them... I don't remember much of this part tho, but supposedly if the card is upside down, it means something opposite or something... I've got the tarot decks: Tarot Kit for Beginners by Janet Barres and my favorite, The Vampire Tarot by Nathalie Hertz... I just got the vampire tarot and it's different.

@DinoGrammy because people like different things. Most common is the rider wait set, though a lot of different art-works. It has to speak to you. I loathed my crowley-deck, and regular rider wait wasn't for me. I work with lenormand every once in a while, but Robin Wood, that's the one for me. This is one of the first things that attracted me to ancient ways reverence. Now, (about 10+ years later) I am trying to delve back in to read them. I have been bugging a few expert firends at their interpretations & go back to drawing board that the cards are interpreted directly with your relationship in how you personally read them. It can be varied & confusing. So I got RUssian Gypsy cards (Romany origin) by reccommend. I'm still trying to figure it out.
@athenaharris tarot reading isn't ancient. tarot was really made for games in the 1400s and it wasnt until the 1700s that people used them for divination. people today mainly in europe play tarot card games. tarot isn't only divination it's also a card game!

Tarot reading is something anyone can do. I recommend that you start with a basic deck like the traditional Rider Waite. Focus on each card and study each one. Write down in a book what the card means to you. Over time, you will develop a personal relationship with each one. yeah...tarots interesting, but its so not my thing its very complex and hard to get to grips with. ive had my cards for 3/4 years and ive not felt drawn to any other decks or books or anything of that sort so theyre in a box somewhere... i like my runes though, i have two sets, smokey quartz and a set that came with a book theyre pink but i doub theyre rose quartz they feel too light and plastic-ie lol :) xx
The mermaid deck is so pretty!!! I love it! My cards have the reverse meaning too. Which makes it harder to recognize every card when I am giving a reading. I am still a beginner myself because it's so much information!

I personaly think if you are meant to have a certain deck you both will find eachother...whether you see it numerous times at a shop and you just keep looking at it...or someone gives it to you....That is my take on the matter.

Sadly this part of Wicca i don't agree on either. I find it hard to believe that Cards with pictures can tell someones future and such...
But that's just me. I know there are many people that believe in this and in Divination itself. I just don't.

Thanx for the tip about the elemetn layout :) I had my Dragon Tarot for a couple of months now :) It taks a LOT of time to learn

Thanks for doing this. I have such a hard time with tarot for readings with people because its hard to remember all of the meanings. I feel more connected with runes, so I will try to put those into my practice instead of tarot.
