I really wanted this game after reading RASalvatore just to play with Artemis and Drizzt, but It absolutly sucks that you have to play so much to unlock them! I would be sick of the game by then, and that they dont even have the same abilities they do in the books (no vampiric dagger?). I also hear they aren't even good characters to fight with, is that true? And the character designs are lame

@Manufan9090 this is baldur's gate dark alliance is more a hack and slash game.... is not BGate the RPG game .. in this BG Dark Alliance 2 drizzt appears after beatin the game in any difficulty.. and in the Dark alliance 1 Drizzt appears too... the new guy here is Artemis and the first elegible characters of course

@Leonlilein think you need to beat the whole game on "Extreme" mode (unlocked after beating the game on Hard, you need 2 imported chars to start on extreme)

I am disappointed in bioware. Ever smudging the Baldur's Gate series like this is an atrocity. You should have played/sticked with Diablo 2 if you want a game of this genre.

I quite like what they are working on now though. Dragon Age is nice, though i am not pleased with the camera angles for walls, they shouldve improved on the targeting system for movement and spell placing as well. Other than that the have managed to do a fairly in depth roleplaying game.

This random hack & slash game with a "Baldur's Gate" title slapped on it is a disgrace to the rest of the franchise. I've played & finished it, got no joy out of the entire game (not to mention the ending, which you reach in 5 hours playtime).

This is more like a linear Dungeon Siege 1, with a few BG spells.

they are not really "secret". You will get Drizzt when you have completed the game. And you will get Artemis when you have completed the game on expert.

yeah go ahead and try Baldur's Gate, it is slightly different that the PS2 version, but is well adapted for the PC. there are many hack n' slash rpg games out there like this, but this one is my favorite.

it is rather highly unlikely that they will be making a 3RD one, but it is still possible for another company to buy the rights to the Baldur's Gate games and then make a third. millions of people bought the baldur's gate games.. another company might want to make an investment in buying the rights to the company and then create a 3RD, it is possible. and im really hoping they do.
