the outline you choose for the head is HORRIBLE. it is the same color as your background and once again if the hand is suppose to be attached to that person you should have stayed consistent with the outline color.

this is BAD. for one your hand has THREE fingers. hands normally have FIVE. the face is bad also. where is that highlight coming from on the left side of his face if that was back lite then the hand shadows would NOT look like that. the ears are not correct. and the neck is NOT correct for the face position. if the hand was suppose to be connected to that body you kind of succeeded but not really.

it doesnt matter if your drawing illustratively, realistically or any other way. the same principles apply. DRAWING is the cornerstone to ANYTHING art. and drawing realism helps you learn how to draw illustratively. once you know proportions, shading foreshortening and composition. you can alter and face to be illustrative. its the saame with abstract work. you have to know how to do realism before you can abstract well.
