  • The Koch brothers paid seven people to vote thumbs down.

  • @ironmonger21 yes he is :)

  • Tom prefers big labor over big business. What's the dfference? How about standing up for the individual, as in individual freedom. I also noticed Tom got his dander up about Fox news, how tought of him.

  • While we, the majority, argue amongst ourselves about liberal vs conservative, republican vs democrat, and every other possible polarizing crappola; those who enjoy the fruits of our labor are laughing all the way to the off shore bank. THAT is why solidarity is needed. Keep arguing, fighting, hating and we lose. They win.

  • @merryapple1 You are so right we need to join together and fight the real enemies. They have the right vs left. take a look at my song Dontcha Know on ending the Fed and What About Us. Educating on song at a time. :)

  • is that tim from rise against?

  • LOL SOLIDARITY. The universal Socialist mantra. You weak fucking Liberals couldn't survive without knowing your safety and security is guaranteed no matter what. Society was built on trade. Unions are not good for trade.

  • @hotfudgemoney NAFTA was not good for trade and all these changes to the tax code that gave unfair endless write offs to the fat cats, deregulating Wall St and allowing employers to take away a solid pension workers USED to have for 401ks that can be lost when the markets collapse like they did in 2008 whereas a pension like our parents and grand-parents had was there for them when THEY retired in addition to SS. A Union provides THAT security to workers.

  • @hotfudgemoney Unions did not do ANYTHING to hurt trade so try doing some real research on what DID and read the rest of my info below. Post WORLD WAR !

II boom when the USA manufacturing sector was almost all unionized and offshoring our jobs was NOT happening, unfair trade agreements were not the norm, this mucked up tax code since 2000, repeal of Glass-Steagall & "right to work for nothing laws" wrecked our economy, not the unions.

  • Unions are free of corruption... Really... There's no corruption there, none. Unions are governed by the people, not rich Union bosses who spend the money on politics. Tom Morello also makes bad music.

  • Say it with me he is a douchhhhhhhhe

  • @Johndubbya69 if your talking about tom morello you are sadly mistaken

  • I was there, it was such a glorious time. Parents are both Union Workers, and proud of it. I turned 18 when this bill erupted, so i got many days off of school to voice my opinion.

  • Just look to Indonesia, what the IMF, WTO, World Bank, done to those people. A country rich in all natural recources, and socialable policies before they came in the 1960's, turned into a slave debtor nation. 90% or more live in poverty, little or no medical care, very little education, deceases rampant, more slaves born each day?

We must restore our once great country, and the world to socialable policies: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, or face the foot to the face like "1984".

  • Public education can be defended only through the struggle for socialism: that is, to the extension of the principle of equality to every aspect of life, through the establishment of democratic control by the working class over the economy. The central impulse of public education, to "equalize the conditions of men," must become the watchword of a new political struggle by the working class.

    Andre Damon

  • Free, universal public education is a democratic, not a specifically socialist, demand. The defense and expansion of public education, however, is incompatible with a society whose fundamental principle is inequality, a society in which trillions are handed to the banks and the entire political and media establishment proclaims that there is "no money" to keep schools open and to pay teachers a decent wage.

  • I find it both comic and tragic that a member of the band "Rage Against the Machine" (whose music I love) would come out in support of one of the most bloated, parasitic, thuggish "machines" this country has ever seen - public sector unions. Time to take the "red pill", Tom - wake up.

  • @gergenheimer Unions aren't machines as much as a tool that puts a little power back in the hands of the workers. I think "bloated, parasitic, thuggish" would more aptly describe those Republicans who pushed anti-union legislation through in Wisconsin. The public sector unions are as necessary as private sector unions, all workers must have the ability to collectively bargain their contracts. Tom's awake, and red enough already, he doesn't need a pill.

  • @gergenheimer If you disagree with his stance you obviously haven't been listening to his music, and you wouldn't like it if you did. Your desire to eliminate collective bargaining puts you squarely in the camp of thugs. It is simply history.

  • @walbergpeter If you'd read my post, you'd have seen that I said I do listen to RATM and I love their music. When you insinuate that the benefits of unions is "simply history", you're close - it's simplistic history. I lived in Detroit for 7 years, and saw first-hand the threats of violence, tire slashing, etc. by thug union members. History is on my side - look at the steel industry, followed by the auto industry - in both cases the union parasites bled the host dry. Educate yourself.

  • @gergenheimer the steel industry in the 1800's was actually un-mandated capitalism at it's worst. What we saw was Carnegie taking advantage of workers (without rights since unions didn't exist). They were being paid pennies an hour (in 2011 money not 1800s) and put through life threatening conditions, while Carnegie was sitting on his tyrant ass getting rich.

In terms of the auto industry, have you heard a recent fact that Detroit is one of the most dangerous places to live?

  • @chekkitProductions I won't waste much time talking about the "evil robber baron" myths and fantasies, I would just encourage you to read some credible history of the period. While Carnegie's "evil empire" was in full force, the quality of steel improved, the price of steel plummeted and living standards of Americans were growing by leaps and bounds. Furthermore, Carnegie donated vast sums of money to worthy causes.

  • @gergenheimer (sorry to post multiple times, but I got a lot to say) Just because a few so-called "thugs" slash tires, doesn't mean the whole union is corrupt.

So, as you can see, both of these cases did NOT bleed the host dry. Carnegie was the most powerful man in the US at the time, even being able to call the national guard to break up strikes. Tire slashing and violence in Detroit are daily occurrences. I know someone who lives there and has told me numerous stories like this.

  • @chekkitProductions Whether a city has a high rate of violence is irrelevant to the issue at hand - using violence to get your way is wrong in any case - it's wrong when criminals do it, it's wrong when government does it, and it's wrong when unions do it to further their agenda. When I left Detroit, the guys cutting the grass at Chrysler HQ were making the equivalent of $60/hour - still think unions didn't bleed Detroit dry?

  • @gergenheimer IF the Union workers were "bleeding" detroit, they would be taking CHRYSLER's money. Since that is where they are working. And do you have proof that they were slashing tires as a protest? And yes, the crime rate of a city does have to do with crimes being committed.

  • @gergenheimer So, since you are now educated, go and tell all your "Union greed is destroying America" friends the truth. CORPORATE greed is what will kill America.

  • OMG Tim a Tom on the same stage! :-O My heroes :-D

  • So So embarassed that Madison is the Capial of my state. I live in the real world, not in the 60s and 70s. The times they are a-changing, dudes. Like it or not, you teachers and union members have overstepped. You do not represent us now. or ever. Understand what the rest of us have gone through over the past couple of years.

  • Rage in favor of the machine.

  • "Union Song" is the ode for our generation.

  • @19d4life

You guys are the thugs, carrying guns to peaceful rallies while you cheer on the raping of the USA by the corporations and the very few, extremely wealthy elite families who own 90% of America that look down on you as just another slave. You are no different than those who support tyrants in any other country. When they get their comeuppance I hope you volunteer to join them in prison.

And you didn't win. This is a war, and you've chosen the wrong side.

  • Solidarnosc from Poland

  • @Thecoldwaterfall

Go on up and tell them that in person if you think you're so tough. Minimum wage, 8 hour days, overtime pay, paid vacations, retirement plans, you can thank unions for these. Jealous of the decent wages and benefits that a good union job brings, but not jealous of lazy fatcat CEO's "earning" $35,000 per day? No problem with a disparity of wealth like that of Mexico? You are the leech for being part of the problem and not part of the solution.

  • Hang tough WI. Solidarity from Portland, OR

  • damn i didn't go the day tom was there ratm speaks the truth fools

  • Video of Walker banging a dog!!! OMG!!!

Wisconsin’s Governor Walker gets SMEARED like no public official ever has!!!

This guy had it coming… f***ing hilarious video!!!! … Click my name and it will take you to the video…

  • Ignoring all the bullshit negativity on this page... Solidarity forever guys! We WILL win this.

    <3 a proud UWGB student.

  • @19d4life Hey don't worry some republican out there will still give you two bits for that asshole of yours no matter how big you get. Don't bleed all over the carpet.

  • OHIO-

While much of the nation's attention remains focused on a stalled proposal in Wisconsin to restrict rights for public workers, an Ohio measure is in some ways is tougher and broader is speeding toward reality

A Senate panel then full chamber approved the Ohio measure Wed.

The bill would restrict the collective bargaining rights of roughly 350,000 teachers firefighters police and other public employees, while Wisconsin's would affect about 175,000 workers and exempt police and firefighters

  • Just begin by putting "greedy" in front of the republican politicians name on the ballot and maybe some real change we can believe in will take place. Republicans are very good at deamonizing democrats...........it is time for the shoe to go on the other foot.

  • apparently 2 republicans have seen this video

  • To inspire us all...Wake up people and prepare for the fight ahead.....Love & peace family

  • The Internet is being used to revolutionize societies. Tell your Congressman to rewrite the “Employee Freedom of Choice Act” so it uses the Internet to allow workers to request and conduct union votes DIRECTLY with the NLRB. Truly secret votes where employers can’t identify and fire organizers. Force employers to bargain with unions 30 days after a successful vote. Bring in an arbitrator 30 days later if no contract is in place. In 2012 VOTE for Obama, House & Senate majorities and pass it!

  • @hork55

YOU chose to be a non-union trucker, now YOU get to die at the hand of your BOGUS "free market".

    *

When you turn off Fox "News," your life will improve.

  • @g4macdad yeah maybe. but at least it's not on the backs of the taxpayers. you know retard, " the working folk." .

  • @hork55 Read the comments below and realize how stupid you are. Why work AGAINST fellow blue collar workers because Fox "News" and AM radio tell you to? You cannot be THAT far gone!

  • @hork55 Lame argument at best. Everyone in the state you or anyone else is in, whether they work for a union or not...................... pay their fair share of taxes. All the money collectively pays for these state employees. The people that should be suspect of not paying their fair share is generally speaking the top 100 corporations in America. 83 out of 100 paid no taxes last year. Republican governors want to keep their wealthy benefactors while they cut services that citizens need.

  • @teabaggersblow your right, they do pay their fair share in taxes. I have no problem paying for PUBLIC employees salarys. But, why should the non-union taxpayers and I pay for most of their retirement? How do the rest of us get along paying for our own. Please don't tell me it's because it was agreed upon, because I wasn't asked. That said, someone with a straight face, tell me there's no corruption in PUBLIC unions. Weed that shit out and I'll abide.

  • @hork55 If a man or woman went into armed services for ten years. Then worked for his or her state for ten years. Then worked in a private job working for an employer the remaining years he was in the workforce. Guess what Einstein...........he or she would have three retirement incomes coming in. Government money in a pension for serving in the military. State pension money for working for the state and social security benefits by working in the private sector. Life in america as we know it.

  • @hork55 Sounds like having nazis run our country would make you feel more warm and fuzzy all over.

  • @hork55 The five states that do not have collective bargaing in the US have the poorest outcome on students that try to enroll in college. Bad ACT and SAT scores. #50 SC..........#49NC........#48GA.............#47TX...........#44 Virg.

  • @hork55 If you would spend some time gaining knowledge and not rely on some wealthy corporation to force feed their littlle mushrooms a talking point you would learn that most unions pay 100% of their pension. The money is then invested in ways that will not lose money. Bonds mostly. Private corporations match or give a partial match incentive to invest in their 401Ks. Keep swallowing the spill.

  • @teabaggersblow alright dipshit, I'm talking PUBLIC unions. 100% of pensions are not payed by the PUBLIC union member. that's probably why you said most unions. your just a drone.

  • @hork55 Drone how about a little pussified weak kneed snaggletoothed cunt like you. hehehe If you are scared say you are scared. Don't play this I am better than you because I hate unions shit. hehehe little pussy.

  • @hork55 Fucking facts, how do they work?

  • @teabaggersblow tom morello yeah. whats his net worth. I bet it's the same as his roadies, or producers, or truck drivers. come on. wouldn't have recorded or toured to make money without them. so tell me, what makes this guy different from a ceo. fact is he's a hypocrite. typical liberal though.

  • @hork55 He is different because he grew up in a union family with union townspeople. They have a bond that runs deep and not the kind of bond that republicans like you got shoved up your asses while your mind is in Arkansas. He comes from a working class background something you liplocked republican mouthpieces know little about. He comes from a coal mining town from Illinois and don't play skin flute on his masters like the rest of you codnibblers seem to always try to outperform each other on.

  • Sweet man. I dig this shit. Great song writing and a real people's man

  • In our "free market" the government gives Big Oil $3Billion in welfare checks annually. Why aren't these "fiscal conservatives" mentioning THAT?

    *

Because Libertarianism is a HOAX, perpetrated by wealthy fascists who want the state to serve THEIR interests ONLY.

    *

    History repeats itself.

  • from the old shire of York in england I watch with pride to see my fellow men making a stand and it gives me hope - you have my full support and all my best wishes , well done xxxx

  • Try starting a business then

  • been to 5 days and one night of protests, kicking myself that I didn't show up that day.

  • Wake up people! Only 9% of working people belong to a union! Why do we keep letting them holding the taxpayers hostage? END unions NOW! They are as corrupt as our government!

You are smoking CRACK you Fascist MORON!

  • Funny thing is, these unions are the machine that the taxpayers are raging against.

  • bet he got laid 6 times in one day by hippy teacher chicks, what a smart dude

  • Collective Bargaining with Government is Negotiated Theft from the People.

A smaller minority can pay an organization to legally extort more tax dollars away from the people.

  • @TheSmokingArgus Teachers educating children is theft! Social workers aiding the poor is robbery! up is down, left is right!

  • @spartan2600 Your lack of understanding is disheartening, but sadly expected. It is THEFT, not because UP is DOWN, but because a MINORITY (50,000 Teachers v 5.6 million Wisconsonites)) hiring a MAFIA (union) to take more of the people of Wisconsin's PRIVATE PROPERTY (wages) without consent by government is RObbery.

There is SACRIFICE to be made when you are paid by OTHER people's money and are a PUBLIC SERVANT.

  • @TheSmokingArgus

HAHAHA! The Teachers have not had a raise in FIVE YEARS and have ALREADY bargained away a TON of benefits.

    *

This guy Walker, LIED to the Wisconsin people about his agenda with the KOCH Brothers.

    *

Get your head out of Glenn Beck's ASS, FASCIST MORON!

  • @g4macdad

Glenn Beck is the Pied Piper of Pied Piper of Hamelin, i.e. a PHONY. Nevertheless, the TEACHERS who on average make $80k per annum, have no right to extort the wages of average Wisconsonites who makes $35 to $40k annually. Moreso when 60% of the students in GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS cannot even read proficiently.

You can call me names, but in the end you support a BULLY system of theft. If Gov Walker had a spine he would FIRE them all similar to Reagan v. Air Traffic Union 1981

  • @TheSmokingArgus

"Bully system of the LEFT?" You are the one who has reading proficiency problems.

    *

You don't even know the MEANING of Left-Wing, OBVIOUSLY. You have a lack of FUNDAMENTAL political understanding.

    *

I can surmise from your comments, that you by into the FASCIST Ideology of "Ron Paulesque" Anarcho-Capitalism/Libertarianism.

    *

Wake UP buddy, Ron Paul and Glenn Beck are FASCIST birds of a FEATHER.

  • @g4macdad WTF are you talking about? I wrote" BULLY system of theft" not LEFT, learn how to read. - lol

If you feel so strongly that you are entitled to other people's wage/private property, then you should have the courage to STEAL the money directly from an individual and not rely on the UNION MAFIA or government to do your dirty work for you.

But one can assume you lack the ability to follow your philosophy to its actual conclusion.

  • @TheSmokingArgus

I worked for an Employee owned company, that took it's worth from $7million to $155 MILLION in less than ten years.

    *

We sold that same company to a PRIVATE owner, who drove it into Bankruptcy in less than 2 years.

    *

PROOF that business owners serve NO purpose in the business model. They are OBSOLETE. The Green Bay Packers are ANOTHER shining example of public COLLECTIVE ownership. Watch DEMOCRACY NOW for REAL News, and turn off Fox "News".

    *

I might need glasses though LOL.

  • @TheSmokingArgus Teachers make $80K? That's bull. The average teacher salary in Wisconsin in $50K, which is actually less than what they'd make in the private sector. Unions aren't to blame for poor education. In fact, if we had stronger unions we would probably have better anti-poverty support systems/welfare and kids would do better in school. Finland is famous for having the best education system in the world. They also have one of the strongest unions and biggest welfare in the world.

  • @TheSmokingArgus Actually, teachers make less already as holder's of bachelor's degrees and master's degrees. The New York Times just published a study of this. The only people who get paid more in the public sector are janitors and others who make about 30K and less a year. Do you suggest those who work full time but still live in poverty need to make a "sacrifice?"

Also, unions are a human right guaranteed by international humanitarian and domestic law. They are a democratizing force.

  • Unions keep the job industry competitive, if we get rid of the unions, corporate america has the ability to sell to the lowest bidder. Wages decrease, jobs move out of country. corporate america still makes money because they sell product, but you wont be able to afford it because your job went overseas too. lower wages creates less income, creates less income tax, creates larger deficit. keep you blinders on while shepard walker leads his sacraficial lambs to slaughter.

  • That is Sooo funny, Dude (SoundTribeFan) comes on here, all... I love you Tom, you're a god, I love all your stuff and you're right Unions Suck!!! If you're such a huge fan, KNUCKLEHEAD, and followed his career, hell even listen to this video... You would know, he is PRO UNION. Thanks for showing us why everyone is for this BILL, you are uninformed, lack any sense and are clouded by Mommy and Daddies Check Book. Sitting there in you Abercrombie & Fitch, said... Sooo sad. Sacraficial Lambs!!!

  • @TheJDoobie420 This shows what you know about me, and how good you read (thanks to your teachers). I didn't say "I love you Tom", or say "Tom said unions suck". The Nightwatchman played the Union Song for a reason.

Not sure why you attacked me as a person. You don't know me. Why don't you discuss the issues. Maybe show some facts. Break down the bill, and why it's so bad. You know why you don't... your a shill. Where's your videos here on YouTube? All you can do is make superficial comments.

  • @SoundTribeFan Now you understand why I said what I said. I told you that you were uninformed and that you needed to look at things through your eyes, instead of the eyes of others. Yes, I can read just fine. I was mocking you because you couldn't understand what Morello was saying. But, now you understand and thats great. take care!

  • @TheJDoobie420 At my core, I am anti union. I guess no matter what anyone said or did, I would still be anti-union. I also think Tom may be a little narrow sighted, being pro union, no matter what is happening. I didn't know about the behind the scene corporate buy-out of our WI government. I do feel like I failed in my state. I hear about protests and marches in DC and New York. Nothing happens in WI, until now. I listen to Alex Jones, and that's it. I'm not an activist. There would be no debate if your new Governor, who is bought & paid for by the anti-union Koch brothers, hadn't created this budget shortfall in his 1st days in office by ramming thru $140 million in tax cuts for big business & special interest groups. Walker manufactured this "crisis" to bust the unions. You should be mad about that.

  • @houndstoothbruce Wow, thanks Bruce. I didn't know all this stuff about the Koch Bros. I found articles at Daily Kos, AmericaBlog, MotherJones, and others. These guys sound like pure evil. If the scenario the Daily Kos forms is on target, we're in trouble. And here I thought Walker was a good guy.

  • @hork55

FDR said this when the economy was in a DEPRESSION. The DOW just broke 12000 in recent weeks, do you call THAT a depression?

    *

And FDR never paid out a $356.2 billion TARP in the name of Voodoo economics either.

    *

Obama listened to conservatives about TARP creating jobs, MISTAKENLY, and now republicans want Blue Collar workers to pay it back, instead of the CEO's that received it. Grow a brain.

  • @g4macdad so by "blue collar workers" you mean govment workers. tell me, do the other 90% of "workers" get a voice? or is it fuck you, we work for govment, you scum, you little people. now walker ran on this and said he was gonna do it. so when got elected he carried out what he said. let me give you one example of collective bargaining in milwaukee by a public union. we are working on getting free viagra for our "workers" if they need it. to the tune of 780,000 tax payer dollars. fuck them

  • @hork55

EVERY worker has the right to collective bargaining under our current Laws. Walker wants to CHANGE that. That is what this is all ABOUT. How is taking away these people's rights, helping people who CHOOSE not to join a Union?

    *

Where did you get your information about "viagra", AM radio?LOL! If NOT, give your nonpartisan source.

  • @g4macdad i heard this on tom sullivan. you know that EVIL FOX RADIO. so since its fox it in no way can hold any ground right. everything a lie, correct. would npr be your source for non-partisan news.lol are you non-union? and if so, what are your collective bargaining rights. what the hell are you talking about. PUBLIC union employes should have a 401k for retirement just like the rest of us. no more. they can live or die by the market with the rest of us.

  • @hork55 Live or die by the market? You are a Fox News WACKO as I suspected.

DO YOU WANT TO FUCKING KNOW WHY? cause the fucking retards ran away with the money, and now we have all these unfunded public pensions. around 80 BILLION. so now its up to me and other non-union taxpayers to pay it. so fuck you and fuck the unions.

  • @hork55 spoken like a typical ignorant trucker who votes against his best inerests. you pussy

  • @bonnevie9 best interests? you couldn't sound more retarded if you tried. what flavor you drinking? jim jones could have used you.

  • @hork55 3 billion, are you fucking serious? my god, thats your arguement? obama pisses that away every ten minutes fucktard. why didnt you answer the question? you said every worker has collective bargaining rights. what are the non-union workers bargaining rights? your that entitled mslsd watching drone that really is just fucking useless aren't you.

  • @hork55

They CHOSE not to belong to a UNION, otherwise they would have collective bargaining rights.

    *

Which part of the answer confused you, the part where you had to put letters and words together?

  • @hork55 whoa whoa whoa fuck face. i was making that comment to all the people saying that unions aren't necessary anymore. Its not my fault that it got taken out of context and bumped up with 26 (now 38 btw :D) thumbs up.. how many did yours get? u dick.. i know public unions are protesting and i still stand with them.. they don't want higher pay they just want their rights. I believe there should be no public sector workers.. only private.. and ALL of them would have unions.. so fuck off, chief

  • @hork55 And btw how are they my 'beloved CEO's' when the comment i left was challenging the excessive assets that CEO's have? I'm against CEO's because they have a history of trying to crush unions and in order to balance out the equality in this nation... we need unions!

  • @hork55 What rock do you call home? The federal government has never been able to bargain collectively. That is why your fearful leader Reagan ran off the Air traffick controllers. They really did not have a leg to stand on lawfully. But by Reagan taking his action it took ten years 1991 to hire the same number on the payroll in 1981. No telling how many flights were postponed or diverted and how much money these carriers lost so Reagan could prove a point. Clinton rescinded the law in 1993.

  • If you are not a union member and I'm not, know this: your wages are set by what the unions have done for this country.

However this fight is not about the union. It's about people being able to have their voices heard in the workplace. This is all we have left after the supreme court ruled that corporations are people.

The teabaggers? What fools. They will be sorry when their medicare and S.S. checks become privitized and eventually cease to exist. Thank Wisconsin now!!

  • unions keep all wages higher. as soon as they kill the unions, their taking your wage down to 8 bucks an hour.

  • The companies who lay people off and move away want you to think its the union, but it ain't the unions! It's the companies and their politicians who cause unemployment. Companies would would like to take our wages down to the ground. The answer is organize and shut any shop, and if they close it down, we'll occupy it and demand it be opened as a non-profit or government owned shop! Like they did in Argentina in 2001. Its time to organize not accept the company line!

  • You missed the point, bro. Tom played in Wisconsin support of those who support the unions. If you had followed any of Morello's activism throughout his career, you'd immediately understand this.

  • @houndstoothbruce I know what Tom stands for. I understand he's in support of the unions. He mentioned that in the video as well. I live here in Wisconsin. I know what is going on here. The majority of people I talk to, and the boards I visit say the same thing as I. Where do you live? Are you a union person? When unemployment is real high in your county and taxes go up that you can't pay, having a union doesn't put food on your table.

  • @SoundTribeFan: I don't work for a union. I don't need to live in Wisconsin to know the score.

  • I hear ya Tom. I feel ya. I live in Wisconsin. The unions are breaking the backs of the Wisconsin tax payers. Take a look at all the union companies that left Wisconsin, and the countless workers left behind. A company I worked for was one of them. Unions had their place long ago, now they are killing us. Now we can't keep businesses here because labor costs are too high.

Tom, keep up the great work, I listen to all your work, The Nightwatchman, RATM, Audioslave.

  • @SoundTribeFan , you missed the point!
