Dictators like Hussein, Hitler, and George Bush live in a bubble surrounded by "yes" men. They don't believe anything that conflicts with their view of the world. Not only don't they listen to contrary views they don't allow the contrary views to be spoken in their presence.
Get over your religious bigotry! CNN is bad and it has absolutely nothing to do with the religion of the "owners". CNN is owned by TIME-WARNER TBS - AOL (donated 1.6 million to GW's 2000 campaign). America Online (AOL) acquired Time Warner--the largest merger in corporate history. The TWX stock is traded on the NY stock exchange so the "owners" are the people who own the stock. I don't think you know their religion.
I agree that CNN is biased. I don't agree with you for using religious bigotry and anti-semitism as part of the criticism of CNN. You don't know what you are talking about when you say the cause of CNN's problems is that it is owned by "Jews."
Well anyways we should not tell bad things about a man who has passed away!
I hope he goes to hevean and I am happy tha he does not have to listen to those lousy Americans anymore!
Iraq actually did not have a lot of guns! All the guns they had were guns that they recieved from America when Bush Senior was the president! AND we all know that Bush Junior attacked Iraq for all the Natural Resources that Iraq have!
Suddam didn't have the information geniuses like you had, Turk.
In the same way bungle heads here fell for the psyop to convince people he had WMDs and was a threat etc, Suddam fell for the psyop to convince him 'they weren't serious, everything was just a bunch of lies.'
They tricked everyone into allowing for a quick easy war. Now KBR is just over their reeking havoc, and raking in the profits at the tax payers expense (and soldiers lives).
Sadaam's fatal mistake was that he was going to switch to trading oil for Euros not Dollars. Then of course he was too much in a bubble to understand how to get himself out of the mess. Dictators are like that, ya know.
Since he knew he didn't have any weapons (and wasn't a true threat) he was taken by surprise (in a way). Perhaps he couldn't have imagined that the USA would perpetrate such an enormous lie and actually invade a sovereign nation for no good reason. The most he may have anticipated was just a light bombing campaign, done merely for show. He may have trusted the USA to act a little more responsibly and not do something so ludicrous (invade another country for NO REAL reason).
He could have avoided the whole thing by allowing the UN inspectors get in. But being the idiot he was Saddam thought US wouldn't actually invade or might have use for him in the war on terror so he choose to give the illusion about the possibilities of having the weapons to intimidate his neighbors.
