Are you sure this is the London 1952 Norma? The "re sobreagudo" sounds lighter than what I originally heard on the vinyl recording. Though very beautiful, the original sounded like the TGV going to and from London at the same time!
@kgarmaker123 Are you kidding? Callas was a great artist, but Sutherland was a superior singer. Callas, as usual, sounds like she's singing with tobacco or toilet paper in her cheeks. Ands I'll take Joan's D any day over this.
@Eiswirth That is so funny! It is Sutherland with the manufactured middle that sounds like she has a potato in her mouth... YOu really need to start listening better.. Her middle( Sutherland) was rotten, it wobbled, and it was the reason for her decline. So much for her.. I would never listen to Joan any day.. I hate Joan any day.. .. Rotten rotten, rotten musicality, no sense of drama and everything, I mean everything sacrificed for a high note. She puts me to sleep.
A dreadful opera fit only for screaming

At Norma trio, between 49-55,Callas was unreachable, the score needs coloratura di forza, passion no screaming!
