@ursie1986 It's not the BBC, it's the BBC's channel on Youtube. If there weren't adverts on Youtube, then we'd all end up having to pay to use it. At least they give us the option to skip the things. If you're wasting your time on here (like I am) watching archived BBC footage, then you can spare 30 seconds of your clearly not particularly precious time before watching a video.
@aberdeenstu1 Although Tracy-Ann Obermann was in series two of Big Train (see the Ralph 'Streets of London' McTell and Meeting the New Girlfriend sketches, for example), I'm pretty sure this is a sketch from series one. You might also recognise Amelia Bullmore from Brass Eye and Jam (the TV lizards sketch)
@slacknhash You are right about the series numbers of course, but the lady in this sketch does have the same face as the actress Tracy-Ann Obermann, and has a different face to the actress Amelia Bullmore. Given that Amelia Bullmore also has a different face to Tracy-Ann Obermann leads me to only two possible conclusions, Either this is the actress Tracy-Ann Obermann or it is someone with an identical face to the actress Tracy-Ann Obermann.
Mind you, given Tracy-Ann Obermann's involvement with Torchwood (up until the Cyberman invasion, at least) I'm sure we've got plenty of reason to assume something underhanded is going on.
Oooh! Mummy I saw an ADVERT on a BBC video! Oooh! Let's all refuse to pay our licence fee because we're all lower-middle class ignoramuses who know our 'rights' but can't even spell 'licence fee', let alone get our thick skulls round why it's necessary because we demand free EVERYTHING! Whinge whinge whinge...
@PromiserOfDeath I wonder if Billie ever mentioned seeing this sketch to Simon while they were on set. "Oi. Simon, remember when you blew your brains out on Big Train over me?"
@videogamenostalgia They are making fun of a technique often used in British 50s B-movies where children were dubbed with the voices of adults pretending to be children. Don't ask me why that was done in the 50s (actors' unions, minimising retakes?), but it's typical of Big Train's attention to detail.

I didn't even know Billie Piper was a singer. I only knew her from Doctor Who.
And I didn't recognise any of those other names they mentioned aside from Debbie Gibson. I guess the US and UK music charts are even more different than I realised.
She had a couple of albums out. She's actually a decent singer when she does some more of the sultry stuff (Honey To The Bee/Day & Night were pretty cool).
This is EXACTLY what being a grown-up pop fan is like.

i wish bbc would stop putting the entire plot in the titles
for me this sketch would have been better if i wasn't waiting for a Billie Piper reference
surely the sketch is juxtaposition
these kind of people in this kind of tv program/film shouldn't be talking about Billie Piper
