In the lead up to WW2, Maybach was an independent luxury car manufacturer from Germany. After WW2, they and many others in Germany went out of business. In the last 15 years a lot of old car companies that had ceased to exist have been brought back by companies like Audi and BMW. Maybach is owned by Mercedes. Bugatti is another example. Today I saw this at the Emirates Moter Company showroom here in Abu Dhabi. The Maybach had a spot on the floor at to itself, and rightfully so. It is very impressive to look at, in person, it sitting right next to you. It's a huge machine!
