Ok, let's give Eidos a break on this one. Everyone makes mistakes, right? Nah, Invisible was too awful to forgive. My theory is that they had something awesome planned, but 9/11 caused some major problems. (Since terrorism is a large factor in the franchise)
I like how the cars are still driving on the road and helicopters still have propellars but in human revolution the cars fly and the helicopters are more futuristic.
I honestly don't understand everyone's problem with this game. I played both Deus Ex and this sequel, and they're two of my favorite games of all time. Yes, the second didn't have a lot of the RPG elements of the first, but I still became immersed in the world, and for me, that's what counts. Both are great games.
Ok this game was amazing! I was immersed in this fictional word because im a geek. Moral choices, weird funny people, conspiracies, great music, awesome guns, assassin feel, man this game had it all. If part 3 is anything like this one then ill shit myself.
i love this game i have the 1st one Deus Ex The Conspiracy for ps2 still 1st copy of the game i ever bought and it still in mint condition and playable and im never giving away or selling my game
The funny thing is this intro had little to do with the actual game I mean what happened to Chicago? You never got to go to Chicago and what was that thing the terrorist detonated?
@TailsYay All we know is that the whole City was destroyed because the Templars wanted to destroy prob only one Tarsus/Apostle Corp building. And they never mentioned that "thing" the terrorist used. To me it seems like a failed attempt at making the game dramatic. I'm not American and I asked myself if there ever were any reactions in the US to such an event in a game 3 years after 9/11. It's kinda hard to imagine the same ppl who came up with the Deus Ex plot writing such a story. O_o
I haven't played the game in a good 6 years, but judging by what one of my friends told me about it, as he said it's the "3 Thumbs Up version of Fighting Force 2 and/or the RPG version of Perfect Dark", my mouth is dripping...
electro plamsatic diffusion - in real life - particle destabilization. A Hiroshima, Nagasaki could do it - or an energy weapon via helicopter or something related t could do it. Your dealing with Nanites -your dealing with mini computers- short circuit them - stop the plague.
Don't you mean EMP? While nuking them would be somewhat effective, an energy pulse a nuke (EMP) will burn out every electrical system. BUT, we can already make transistors out of just a few molocules, what if these are simply synthetic organisms, eating everything, constructing new organisms that do the same thing. EMP has no serious effect on living things.... Anyway, i hope we'll come with a solution for all of this before can make nanites. *Wondering what the future brings*
This game was FAR superior to Perfect dark .. back in the day .. I mean just LOOK at it.. and LOOK at the way perfect dark played... 2 futuristic games.... but 1 was open ended and the other just plain linear... .. Personally i think this game and Perfect dark proves just how different consoles vs pcs are.
Ive got to aggree with you, cant get enough of this game completed it iver and over again tryingto find a way to get better stuff, more money etc etc :D WOOO
OMG... have been played only the german version of DXII but by hearing this english voice acting I notice that this voice in the intro is the same voice speaking Walton Simons in DXI. Awesome.
I never got far enough to know what the storyline really was, I guess I kept playing it on my own when I was about 10 and all the dark places scared the the living daylight out of me, if I didn't have this daft Vista, my laptop would allow the game so I could play it and get to know what it's really actually all about, I guess Windows Vista is a bit rubbish in places... My advice now is NOT TO GET VISTA COZ IT WONT ALLOW GREAT GAMES SUCh AS THIS ONE!!!!
This was a good game, but not as good as the 3rd & 1st

To clarify any matters, these are the dates in which all the Deus Ex (single player) games are set:
- Deus Ex: Human Revolution (2027)
- Deus Ex (2052)
- Deus Ex: Invisible War (2072)

I'm pretty sure the trains can't fly in HR. The track is just above the train rather than below it (they are hanging basically)
And the cars definitely don't fly.

No. In HR, cars are pretty much the same like nowadays. But trains can fly, which is an absolute bullshit.

The game's not too bad, but the tagline is hilariously contrived: "THE FUTURE WAR ON TERROR"

cause i actually (back in deus ex ) i let walton simons run away after i did serious damage to him and thought what a coward.
then i thought to myself...what have i done?
then 0:53 saw a new face and i just was completely relieved and dumbfounded | )
