most awesome was the incredible huge world with so many things just few ppl knew about. it was thrilling hearing new stories of worldbosses here and there.

but after you slained each monster and got your gear, it's just boring. there is no thrill, no challenge any more.

my friends & I played wow dez 2004 until okt 2005 on azshara GER PvP horde

... leveling and raiding was a lot of fun in ventrilo/LAN(played tauren shaman kenturrac, it's probably still in the game^^)! discovered blackrock instances as well. i do know the first time moltencore 40 ppl just getting owned the whole day long :D. onyxia took us some time as well :>

I started playing during the BC days and to be honest I miss those days. Back then the game was an adventure and not something you have to spend full time hours on just go get enough gear to do something. I just started playing again after taking a long break. I started over with a new character and the leveling goes way to fast. My impression is they have designed this game for the most obsessed player. It's not fun if you want to play casual.

in cata u can stop lvling so when u reach 70 and if u like tbc ( which is my fav) u can raid and get the awsome gear! ( sozz classic fans becuse the world of azeroth is now changed) but tbc and wotlk fans have a win! My friend maded a Tbc guild and on his rouge he has illidans blades and 20 lvl 70s and they we raid the awsomes Black temple,the red drenei boss raid i forgot its name, Hc dongeons . And the best mounts Nether drakes!!! Server kor"gall EU guild illuminatos wisp Peekaboo =)

I played WoW since winter 2007. But i played whit some off my friend this one. Classic for most people is Awsome, But for me Tbc was an inch beter, Wotlk ruined the beuty ( it was all abaut gear, rep, questing) Tbc and classic was fun whit the adventure, fun dongeons and raids , best bg ( now in 2011 my fav is still Warsong) Wotlk had boring story bad ones ( and raids) , exept icc. Cata is awsome but not near as tbc and classic.The game was beter in the past becuse it was adventure now its gear.

Oh I remeber the old WoW trailers. When the Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne was a young game and i watched in TV trailers to WoW. Man, there looked realy awesome. Pre-TBC Warcraft was awesome. TBC was preaty decent, but after that everything was becoming more and more lame.

everyone loves old wow because of nastaliga. but to be honest while old wow raiding was fun the questing was horrible. it was a horrible grind to even get to the best content in the game (IMOP) ive been playing since vanilla and a classic server would be fun for a while but wow is better off now with great questing content now all the have to fix is the raid content.

@YouCantQuitWoW Don't agree with you, i think the old questing system was the most awsome ever. There you actually had to try to reed the quest and do by following and test your way through. And the quest was worth it, you felt like u accomplished something and you felt like you totally rocked.

Honestly. I played through vanilla. And i think the reason to why it is remembered as "the best" is because it back then was brand new shiet! I think that people would have gotten tired of the old wow, i'm sure they would. But i would actually Love if blizzard could make this new wow with other classes, other gear, other spells etc, just let the level cap be 60 and make some interesting and freaking hard raids so the gear gets more appriciated when claimed. Also the better the graphics.

@zim097 World of Warcraft was much better from 2004 - 2006 (that's when TBC came) it was HARDER and it was rarely seen people with full epic gear... had an Full bloodfang rogue with Thunderfury. Was fun to stunlock...
