I have a Female betta and a crowntail Male, and he occasionally chases her but that's it..I haven;t noticed any nipping yet, no real aggression...At first she was terrified of him, but they seem to get along...No fights, and no babies XD...If I ever find either one missing fins or notice aggression, I'll seperate them immediately, but I think the two of them in a 10 gallon is fine..Many disagree and some agree, I think there all different but they were both put in the tank almost the same time

I have a ten gallon with two betta and a couple tetras. They're being conditioned right now, so I have a removable wall. Second, bettas CAN go in a tank with other betta.  Again, I have a ten gallon with two right now. You just have to condition the bettas correctly and give them a lot of room. Other than those two, you're right.

I had another male, who attacked anything. I had an apple snail murdered by my giant female, etc etc.... Also, gold fish? NO. They are cold water fish bettas are warm water fish! In a 10 gallon cycled, MINIMUM, you can add fish with bettas. But that is very hard to do...

As an FYI, rice patties in asia can very in water height anywhere from 1 inch to 1 foot depending on the climate (such as a drought or down pour) and another FYI the waters temp in these pattie vary from 60F to 80F depending ALSO on the climate at the time (ex: winter, summer, etc.)

They are not fighting because they are to stressed to care, a healthy, non stressed betta, no matter how friendly, would not put up with another betta up in his space like that...if you put them in a well planted well heated tank they would not stay friends for long but trust me, they will be a hundred percent happier.
