Im so happy Ive found this! I first saw North of Cornwallis in cardiff in around 1986 or 7 I think, they were supporting the Housemartins. I got he band's details and then Lester sent me a tape which I played to death. I LOVED this band so much, great to hear them again after so long THANKYOU!!!!!
thanks for posting. was lucky enough to hear this song live about 100 times in rehearsal, sound checks and shows. not just a live fave which never failed to have me on my toes but also a beautiful memorial to lesters mum. a kinda "the drugs dont work" way before its time. always had the power to bring a tear to my eye. the lyrics are even more poignant since robs passing. i R.I.P Rob, love & peace 2 richie dermot & patey popstar. lester can i have my semi acoustic back please lol :)
I saw them in Liverpool and they were great. Supporting the Housemartins who were great too. The Farm on the other hand were utter crap.
Lester went on to sing what is still one of my favourite songs ever - Norman Cook's "Four Spacious Lies". I'd love someone to post that.
