@frazierfraaage listen...Joe Paterno turned a blind eye to the fact that Sandusky was raping little black boys from troubled homes. Real men would have beaten the living shit out of their "friend" if he was caught sodomizing vulnerable children. Paterno has a lot to explain before he enters those pearly gates. Pride is a deadly sin for a reason. I wonder if any of the kids Sandusky raped will be able to sing this song with pure happiness.

I heard this song on the radio yesterday. Its one of those songs you kno your whole life, but you only here it once in a blue moon. It made think of my grandmother, she died in July '11. I miss her so much. R.I.P. Grandma. I love you so much.
@AnObsoleteMan I know just what you mean. Some song you've hear a million times can all of a sudden seem so haunting, especially after the death of a loved one. Sorry for your loss. My grandma died a year ago, and it's still quite a shock.

I take lots of things for granted in my life but most everyday I stop and think about how good the sun feels on my shoulder, or how it never fails to brighten my day. Anytime day or night I can listen to this song and smile.
ever since I was 8 years old, all I wanted was this to play on my wedding. I still have that dream. But i cry everytime i hear this song, its so beautiful.
This song brings back memories for me of the Spring of 1974. March and April specifically. The long hard Winter over with. The freshness of the flowers and sunny blue skies in my area. Remember hearing this song often on the radios in the early Spring of 1974. Lord so many things still seemed so innocent and simpler back then for me personally in the early to mid 1970s.

@dllh2012 My mother used to sing this to me as a child. She always called me her "Sunshine". Sometimes, even through all the bad times that I had with her, I can still listen to this song and remember the good times. Peace, Mom!
@dllh2012 i remember the song as a small boy......In India's national TV it used to be shown with a similar montage of pictures but those pictures were of a father and his small son going out on a fishing trip and having a great time.....it was so beautiful and mesmerising that I remember it even now
@ForeverTheBeatles1 SORRY TO HEAR ANOUT YOUR DADS PASSING. REALLY TOUCHING HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT HIM BIENG THE SUNSHINE ON YOUR SHOULDERS. HE WILL BE DEARLY MISSED
@ForeverTheBeatles1 when I was little this was my fav and my parents would let me play it on the juke box. they are not here any more and my kids think its silly when i tear up.
@ForeverTheBeatles1 This might seem crazy...but my dad also died of bladder cancer, a little over a month ago. He too loved John Denver and I think of him when I hear this song and Rocky Mountain High. I hope for healing for you and your family, and many good memories for always...
@shanemayhem I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad... Weird,he used to sing Rocky Mountain HIgh every time he got back from work. Thank you so much,I hope the best for you and your family also. God bless you. It means so much for someone too say something so nice. Thank you.
To the 19 individuals who voted against this song as a dislike, you will never in your lifetime ever see a singer that did what this man did for our enviroment. He sang some of the most beautiful music ever made.
I'm Only 13 but, when I was really little I listened to this song to fall asleep. Aside from that it makes me feel good bcuz my dads mom; my grandma, enjoyed John Denver. And she died long b4 I was ever born, so it makes me think of her, and I feel close to someone I've never physically met-3
What! No autotune? No drum machine? No sythisizer? No "Rent a Homie" like Pitbull or 'Lil Wayne" rapping inbetween the verses. This would never get played on today's Top 40 radio!
John Denver was more than an artist, his music is poetry, and unlike the majority of artist today, he was actually quiet accomplished on the guitar. Life is too short, i really enjoy his music.
John's always been a great inspiration to me... When he was big he wasn't my #1 favorite, yet up there amongst my favorites... As I get older I realize what a gift he was.
this song is the soundtrack of a movie called SUNSHINE it was the true story of a 25yr old girl who was dying of cancer she was happily married and had a 5yr old daughter The movie is basically about her advice to her child about what to expect when her little girl went thru life at 10, 15 & 20yrs old ...... and beyond ! , Great movie and Great mother to her child (i saw the movie when i was a kid it made me cry so tragic I hope her kid turned out ok ..im sure she did )
Love this song. It always makes me cry. It was used in a 1974 movie called 'Sunshine ' about a women that is dying of cancer and she has a baby girl and makes tapes to her for when she is older and she won't be around. Gets me even after all these years.
@kks10101 I dont think you understand real music. Wait till you're get you own little revelation and you will know that "Sunshine on my shoulders" is sugar for the heart
John Denver's clear tenor vocals and folksy-country pop style brimmed with sincerity and optimism. His songs are hymns about the glories of nature and the depths of human relationships. He wrote thoughtful songs of simpler pleasures and wide-eyed wonder about the people and this planet we call Home. .
This beautiful song can't help but to cheer you up. I have had the loss of a loved one to deal with as well as some personal problems and it just makes me feel like a human again.
I lost the love of my life and soulmate 2 years ago in June. Last year in June I lost my Mom. Two months before she passed I had to put my 15 year old male Pomeranian to sleep. I'm struggling to find work, driving a 22 year old car thats about to die on me, soon I won't have a home either due to it belonged to my Mom and is in foreclosure. Somedays I don't feel like even getting up out of bed. But music and songs like this still help me to see the sun does still rise, and life goes on!!
I see this song telling the story of a man who sees the World as a blind man but feels the warmth of the sun in his soul. Feel and remember the words to this song for as you grow older you too will feel the warmth of the Sun
in the middle of all the chaos and confusion these days, there's nothing like a comforting song like this..as long as the sun still rises and i wake up to see it, everything will be fine. one day the Son of God will rise, and i KNOW everything will be okay =)
(cont) this song, I really feel all right. I still have my great-uncle, though he uses an iron lung and hasn't said a word to me in years. . .but all just floats away :)))<3<3<3
Every single person I had ever met dissapeared one day and left me to myself. . .years later I figured out that there had been a strange nuclear reaction to the particles in the air that day and they had grown mutations and were taken by the government. . .one day, my fifth brother escaped, but he was stabbed to death by a homeless man on the way home. . .eventually I found my dog, but he was just like a big, slimy limp of flesh, wriggling around all day. . .but when I listen to ( cont)
This was my first John Denver song that I was aware of as a young lad! I knew I had to get to the music store and get this song, but landed up getting his greatest hits! I was hooked for life! This song brings so much joy and peace to my soul! John, I'm so sorry I never got to to see you live as you were one in billion! An absolutely inspiring man who could play and sing so brilliantly! Peace, BobbyK
Great job on your video! Wanted you to know I posted it in my Facebook group called Songs of Strength. If you're a facebooker, love for you to join us for more like this!
My mom would sing this to me as a kid. I would always throw a fit and never want to go to bed but...When the singing started I drifted into the heaviest sleep I could imagine. This nearly brings tears to my eyes, it is indeed a beautiful song.

@ForeverTheBeatles1 This might seem crazy...but my dad also died of bladder cancer, a little over a month ago. He too loved John Denver and I think of him when I hear this song and Rocky Mountain High. I hope for healing for you and your family, and many good memories for always...

I love this song. It brings back memories of time spent in the outdoors with my now deceased son.

Love this song. It always makes me cry. It was used in a 1974 movie called 'Sunshine ' about a women that is dying of cancer and she has a baby girl and makes tapes to her for when she is older and she won't be around. Gets me even after all these years.

EGCatwoman225 9 months ago
I see this song telling the story of a man who sees the World as a blind man but feels the warmth of the sun in his soul. Feel and remember the words to this song for as you grow older you too will feel the warmth of the Sun
johnmorrison007 9 months ago
in the middle of all the chaos and confusion these days, there's nothing like a comforting song like this..as long as the sun still rises and i wake up to see it, everything will be fine. one day the Son of God will rise, and i KNOW everything will be okay =)

My mom would sing this to me as a kid. I would always throw a fit and never want to go to bed but...When the singing started I drifted into the heaviest sleep I could imagine. This nearly brings tears to my eyes, it is indeed a beautiful song.
