  • I don't know which makes me more sad. Seeing Layne here in the state he's in or some of the horrific comments posted here. :( I'm glad the footage is posted. One last time to hear that legendary voice. I wish he would have had peace here on earth. Maybe he would still be with us.

  • It's funny, they coulda had the world by the balls.

  • What date was this show??

  • he sounded really good for his last show, love ya Lane.

  • the vocals are kinda lost behind the guitar. :(

  • 3.46 nice goodbye. the guy had a unique voice, and a lot of range. such a pathetic end.

  • Layne + drugs = A cash flow puppet

Everyone loved Layne, but they loved their pocketbook more.

  • 3:33 is Layne's legacy.

  • I was at this show and made the comment then that I didn't see how he could live much longer. One hell of a singer, one hell of a band.

  • I don't understand. did layne isolate himself from the band? I'm sure they would've loved to have been friends with him. or maybe they were dicks. Idk

  • PLEASE- THUMBS UP IF YOU GET THE CHILLS AT 3:33.

  • Man Layne is on fuking fire in this.Absolutely mind blowing.

  • So is this before or after "Unplugged"?? After I think??? At 1:08-1:14 the first time I heard that I got fuking chills. And every time I hear this song (the studio version on radio) I so badly want him to sing it that way.Dude im stating a true fact.Layne Staley best RnR vocalist of all time. Can anyone name one vocalist male or female that comes close.Johnette N. would be a far 2nd best.

  • @DARRINCONNOR1 This is after, this is the very last show he did.

  • @DARRINCONNOR1 Heres a vocalist for u. Robert Plant, but u can't really compare singers, everyone are unique in their own ways. I couldn't think anyone better for AIC than Layne and I couldn't think anyone better for LZ than Plant. R.I.P Layne.

  • @tahkyr Yeah I agree with Plant.Nobody comes close to his voice.Although I love Maiden and Priest I was never a huge fan of high pitched/operatic vocalists, but of course Robert Plant is definitely up there on the list. And you truly realize Plants talent, when you see other vocalists try to cover Zeppelin songs.,

  • saw them at the reunion tour for kiss the very first show at Tiger stadium in the D and they were awful layne even talked shit about the red wings and was booed.... he was a waste of talent, such a great voice and such a piece of shit.. and that was there last show of that tour

  • Hetfield (after the 94 shit talking) could only wish he could sound like this.

  • This is depressing. Layne's frozen to his spot, stooped posture, looking frail, and his vocals (what's left of them) are completely drowned out by the band.

It's a shame things had to end this way...

  • Your are so right, I find it sad. Nothing like the earlier performances.

    Heroin=bad

  • Awesome vocals, awesome guitar work, AWESOME SONG !!!!!!!

  • I never got to see them live..This is awesome!

  • Thanks for sharing this piece of legend. You're surely missed,Layne. paz/peace _:-)

  • God I love this chorus. Any videos out there where we can hear Layne's voice a bit better?

  • layne was a genius. that's all.

  • wow I've never heard him sing like this. looks like he saved the best til last. RIP Layne :'(

  • gotta love laynes scream

  • Well one things for sure...He sang it like it was his last concert...Fucking bravo Layne!

  • SHIT 10 YEARS THIS YEAR :(

  • Best version of Man in the Box

  • Why do these talented rock singers always smoke? My mother was an opera singer and was always conscience of not smoking and others things that would damage her vocal cords.

Layne smoked and it was already weakening his voice. Few of these guys sustained their vocal brilliance after 30 if they smoked.

  • @stefan103 I don't know if there is any scientific basis to this but I know blues guys used to smoke to help give themselves raspier voices. Based on how Layne sings I think it would have helped him if there is any truth to that. I think his voice weakening in his later years was more from the severe drug addictions and weight loss

  • @JBTFan124

Thanks Sherlock you don't know shit, keep using your high

  • @datehhe1 Fuck you jackass. like you do know anything?

  • MIKE STARR KILLED THE GUY WHO IS IN THIS PERFORMANCE HE SOUNDED REALLY WEAK COMPARED TO MIKE STARR THE FINGERS OF MIKE THE PICK OF INNEZ WEAK LOVE,WILLIAM LOWELL GLASSCOCK

  • How could anyone laugh at someone's death regardless of the talent they possess? People really need to get they're morals checked. Layne was an outstanding singer, an Mike was an amazing bassist. They actually sung meaningful songs. The world lost the most amazing talent ever known, Rest in peace.

  • This should have a million views

  • If this was July 6, they were opening for Kiss on the Reunion tour. I saw them in Louisville, KY a few nights earlier on June 30 with Kiss. They had replaced Stone Temple Pilots who were originally asked to do the Kiss tour but had to back out due to Scott's issues.

  • @downboys This was July 3rd, The Louisville show was the 28th of June

  • @TaylerMeeks What year was this?

  • @kaimae1212 July 3, 1996

  • @bigalz420 hate much? Your life must be so promising and full of joy . Douche

  • @bigalz420

Why do pieces of shit like you even bother checking out these videos if you hate the man so much? Ever hear of respecting the dead regardless of your personal feelings towards the individual?? Man, I really hope you're a kid because if you're an adult, you have serious issues. On behalf of AIC and esp. Layne fans, get a life you waste of skin, that man accomplised more taking a piss in the morning than you have your entire life.

  • wasn't his last show unplugged?

  • @bigalz420 Really dude? If you dont likeAlice In Chains then dont listen listen to them. fuck off and learn to spell dipshIt

  • @sicdragon82000 oh thanks for the education on my literacy, how about i come over and take a big shit on ur mamas face, then ill butt fuck her in her butthole to she shits out my cum

  • @bigalz420 -DUDE.....GROW UP.

  • This version of Man In The Box is absolutely haunting to me. Jerry wailing out those perfect pinch harmonics and Layne up there singing pretty much motionless..... So sad. I also don't like the 'Them Bones' on this show. His "AHHH!" Is more like a cry for help. It's just so depressing.

  • GOD DAM!! HE SANG THE SHIT OUT OF THAT SONG IN THIS VIDEO!!!

  • Comment removed

  • this was also the last song on his last show

  • Awesome remaster!! This is easily my favorite version of this song.

  • year?

  • @anemia94 1996

  • Thanks for uploading this - sad to see Layne's last show...but at least he, and all of AIC, did a great job on this song! I still miss him - Layne was an awesome front man and extremely talented individual. RIP Layne...and Mike too.

  • I like at 1:15 when Jerry congratulates Layne on hitting that note, which was difficult for him to sustain later in his career. but here he does the chorus perfect.

  • @dupersloby That's what I've noticed as well.

  • @dupersloby did that thumb up to a fan

  • @dupersloby i agree with you that was cute

  • @dupersloby It looks to me like Jerry was giving a signal to the soundman (probably for more of his own mic in the monitors or something). They were the opening act after all. Besides, Layne was kind of in his own world there and not even looking in Jerrys direction.

  • @CthulhuForCocoaPuffs ...a boy can dream, can't she?

  • @dupersloby No he was approving of the awesome new way Layne did the chorus. Sure it wasn't as easy for him to hit those high notes that he did earlier in his career... I mean it was not human the way he did it when he was younger but he always made it sound awesome no matter how weak and fucked up he got. His voice was still very powerful and had an amazing range later on.

  • @dupersloby so true !

  • oh hell naw he dun gon called this 'man in da box' oh hell naw

  • Dude kickass job on the remastering

  • You did do a good job on the quality, I just saw the entire show uploaded in one hour long file, but it was not that good in quality, so I did not worry about downloading it. I will be downloading THIS ONE though !!!!

  • lord jesus have mercy on us all ,please log on to equip.org search the deity of christ

  • Excellent sound.....i can close my eyes and feel like i'm right in front of them performing!!

  • i love this version. the first chorus it's amazing !

  • Can't stop coming back to this. Truly brilliant performance.

  • What year was this?

  • @ihavechappedlips July 3rd, 1996

  • Impressive. Thanks a lot.

  • wow, pretty good improve you did right there oO

  • You are the man, thank you!

  • I love that thumbs up Jerry gives to Layne after the second line of the chorus. Truly amazing vocals

  • One less crazy musician out there........ Dammit. :(
