oh your cousin is so kawaii! the first metal song was hella irra so i turned off the sound right away. the second song way less agro. thanks for posting. OMG your cute too.
you can also give your hair a natural look by cutting it normally and then thinning the tops with the shearing scizors :D ! i think so it happened to me it's all spiky when it's thinned out again :D !
you can't do layering with paper scissors. they tend to push hair along the edges of the scissors and leave a strange angular 'cut'. not really advisable..
You're pretty good. I wish i had u cut my hair =) I live in Washington state though, but I'm looking for a good place to give me a really good asian hair style, cus I'm a male asian too. I don't really know where to go to though :D
loved the song you used in your video. btw, I'm also learning how to cut hair and I find your video to be very inspirational. thanks~ :D. Btw, do you cut your own hair too?
There seem to be a huge difference between asian and european hair. Would you recommend me to look for a special asian hairstylist or can european stylists handle asian hair aswell?
Obviously my european hairstylist is not used to cut the styles asians want to have...
i dunno about europe but in american stylissts dont even have thinner blade/ saw scissors. also they dont tend to use scissors at all much. its impossible to get layered hair w/o these so id reccomend asian stylist. althought stylists for scene hair seem to have the asian thing down :P
basically if they get out the electric shears gtfo!!
actually a lot of american stylist use thinning shears. you must be going to the wrong places...and there are european people that know how to cut these styles..you just have to look for them
i dont know what to do with my hair because its really thick. I want to thin it but it means that i need to cut my hair which i do not want. help please?
are you trying to grow your hair out?? its ok to get it thinned..when you thin, your cutting in between so you shouldnt really lose length. if so, it will be very minimal. if you plan on going to a salon to get it done (which i suggest if you have no clue what you're doing), just say that you "want to thin it BUT keep the length"
you dont need to remove oil to cut your hair o__O my hair stylist dosn't do that if you dont have any products in your hair and she uses normal scissors and she can do layers and stuff with it... O__O
sure you do...thats the first rule you learn about cutting. people usually dont tend to follow this practice unless they have the more expensive shears..the oils will dull the the blades eventually
no. she just thinned your hair with the ones with the 'wide gaps' and texturized with the narrow. like anything else, theres more than one way to do something.
too bad its not that simple, unless you want a random hairstyle that might not even suite your facial structure. its best to choose your own hairstyle and have them cut it. plus, "asian hairstyle" could mean anything. they could give you that short buzz asian cut with the spikes on top for all you know. =X
isn´t it a good way to make it easier for gaining volume by cutting your hair in texturing way? because its much more easier to get them up with products like gatsby or something, if your hair isn´t that thick and heavy anymore, is it?
depends on your hair type..you can practically use anything EXCEPT Head & Shoulder or V05
i suggest anything that says "shine" or "silk" on it. if you are willing to spend a little extra try: Nioxin / Paul Mitchell / Biolage / Redkin, but if not something like herbel essence should do. its more about preference.
and its better to get one that doesnt have conditioner in it..get the conditioner separate!
yeah your cousins' a famous hairstyles at chopchop? haha cool xD i know a hair stylist at the i think it's 13th street hair salon. i hope you get your way to the top!
also using the technique in my video should help. its, been awhile since i've attempted to make another tutorial. maybe sometime within the next month or so i will probably do a better haircutting vid and styling..
actually , i have a little question, this may involve most asians, but i have that typical asian fro and im tired of using gel to make it spikey, so i dont want the spikey hair style, so what should i do (if i grow it out, it looks really ugly, mushroom head)
by the way, to answer youre question, use thinning scissors.
Razor= NO NO. Instead of "thinning" your hair by the correct process, you end up thinning the strand of hair and damaging it by cutting the hair itself.
Thinning scissors are the go. Look at my profile pic (thats with hair wax (not gel)
you could...but with the razor, you cant perfectly control how much is cut off when compared to thinning shears (which is the exact same each cut). razor work is definately left to more professional--which im not. BEWARE: if you do use razor, make sure its not dull or you will damage your hair (very noticable)
will cutting my hair with thinning shears give it more shine? cuz i have typical stiff asian hair and use shampoo/conditioner, but my hair still looks dry. If i have stiff hair should i use a shears to cut my hair?
no. you have to continually treat your hair to get it from being dry. try getting a shampoo that says anything along the lines of shine. it will take awhile since your current hair is most likely already damaged. but when your new hair comes in, it should be healthy
Thank you so much for this video. My husband is Japanese and I need to cut his hair, but I am from the States... completely different style!! So, I looked EVERYWHERE for a video that would give me good techniques. Thank you so much. It is a clearly illustrated and explained video. Nice cut, too!
never ever use a cheap item to cut the hair. cause will make u look not cool~ i support u... all the best... remember this line is very hard don give up.
great hair cutting vid!! sry it takes me a while to reply back LOL this vid would help a lot for layers and such, esp. for guys. People been asking me to do tuts for guys, but i guess i'll just link this to them ;) keep it up!!! <3 Kaystar
so how did you first start practicing? i got shears and the thinning scissors stuff but i can't just go around cutting people's hair you know. what if i mess up. did you practice on a wig?
i never practice on a manniquin or anything before. i just started cutting hair..i just imagine the haircut before i do it..i might need to start practicing on fake hair though before i start doing girls hair xD
I asked for layer and thin and they did it then i went home and the top wouldnt spike im thinking bout cutting it a bit shorter on the top do you think it will make it spike?
spikes sometmes also require texturizing. depends on your hair length. if its long layering should have been enough but you would have to had to cut multiple times with the thinning shear like i show in my video
bad explanations i learned nothing
