I begin to write symphonic music. I knew about him from screen version of his first Discworld`s novel "The colour of magic". Since then I had read half of his books. I didn`t remain indifferent and wrote the number of symphonic suite "Images" - Absurd Discworld.
I suggest your attention the video with my music on my channel ra2006ra "Pratchett" or h_t_t_p_:_/_/_w_w_w_._youtube.com/watch?v=6NbM0faHptk (delete all "_").
Because of some cause servise of youtube don't let the possibility to send video-responses more than one time. I can`t hear your applause, that's why don't estimate my video if my music is liked you. If my music is liked you, help me to spread it to your friends.
I hope you'll like my music, that's why this music was written for you!
dear terry, i watched "choosing to die" and it made me sad, because my uncle last year died of brain cancer, he was only 51. He had 3 strokes prior to passing and suffered for 9 months not knowing who he was, who his wife was, where he was, he couldnt talk and all that stuff but he died just before christmas after going through all that. I think you should review your condition, and i dont think you should go to dignitas.
An amazing man, who enchanted me every book I read, and is one of the only thing that makes things feel magic... the type of magic you lose when you are old enough to know Father Christmas isn't real and how mean the world can be. :) did anyone see what he did when he was knighted? He made his own sword. What a guy! Somewhere on youtube it has the story i think.
Unseen Academicals is such an amazing book! I laughed myself silly at the concept of ballett with balls! And I had a mental image of Nanny Ogg laughing herself silly at the double entendre!
@chaosfilms9295 At the very least. He's finished I Shall Wear Midnight and is writing another Watch book at the moment. No sign he's stopping just yet.
@chaosfilms9295 He hinted at another von Lipwig book in 2007, but hasn't admitted to starting writing it since then. He did announce a new Watch book the other day though, apparently called Snuff. So yay.
@Volterator you've made my day, actually everyday till i read another discworld novel as ive just finished nightwatch. I always get worried after finishing one because i wonder if that will be the last one he'll write, great to hear hes still writing strong!
When is society going to do the right and decent thing and make him SIR Terry Pratchett? If anyone in the UK deserves a knighthood, it's our best-ever author. Who knows? He may even write a novel all about knights, governments and, well, Lord n' Ladies too. Only with out the elves!
I like the sam vimes books. He is the perfect example of an anti-hero in the sence he does the right thing most of the time but his actions on the way to the end are less than honourable. The guy is so funny and full of black humer its impossible not to like him in my opinion :-)
lol his little rant on Romeo and Juliet was great xD This is the first time I've heard him speak. I wouldn't have imagined that he had a verbal tic on his Rs. It's endearing <3 Sir Terry is my literary hero.
How did he become knighted, btw? Besides being an awe-inspiring genius, of course.
It's great fun watching Pratchett have a go at Shakespeare. I thought the same thing the first time I read the play. Of course young people tend to be too serious.
@Cheapassdesign I agree, his books are so worthwhile, some books just leave you feeling empty and gross, but these books always leave you craving the next book!
You've also got to take into account that a newcomer to the Discworld series may not just start at the beginning, my cousin started on Thief of Time, and if suddenly the Discworld is described half way through a book, it would cause confusion to a new reader, mention it at the start and the reader understands where its based.
His accomplishements make him a hero, same with Rincewind, not a typical white knight but they have at one point or another lead a hero's crusade. And they fight - when they fight - on the side of good so?..meh, Vimes is my favourite fictioal honourable bastard.
Heroes come in many shapes and sizes, from the large warrior clad in mail and armor to the tiny Hobbits slipping into Mordor. Yes Vimes is a fictional honourable bastard and like all heroes he knows right from wrong and what side hes on.
That`s not Terry Pratchett! I can tell from he i not wearing a cowboy hat!

I love Terry's voice - especially the little language tick when he pronounces an "r" :)
He's a modern sage, with a great sense of dry humor. I feel nothing but the greatest respect for his work.

I don't think you can call Vimes a real hero, the way he always careens on the edge of insanity...
An anti-hero with a certain sense of duty and a great deal of fear for his own mind maybe, but not a real hero.

Thud was one,,, and I wasnt overly impressed with Nation.
