I feel priveleged to have known Ayers personally. I wasn't with Chosen, but I served with Able Company. My best friend while in the army, Hamby, was in the same platoon as Ayers and I came to know him well. He was a great young man who died all too soon. RIP Ayers and Sky Soldiers forever. RIP Ayers, Honaker and Miracle.
Able Company, 2/503rd The Rock
Chosen Few, Trample the weak, Hurdle the dead. You are all missed.
This Zoomie stands and renders Salute. How and why guys like him do such things will forever be not understood by the majority of our population. Our slim minority, our familiy, mourn the loss of true warrior.
HAND SALUTE! CPL. Ayers is truly a "Soldier's Soldier". His dedication to duty, to his Brothers-In-Arms from all branches of service and his STEADFAST DEVOTION to his fellow Paratroopers - is unsurpassed by that of any other. I believe this inherent quality of CPL. Ayers', is not now, nor will it be equaled or surpassed in the foreseeable future. Why in God's name this OUTSTANDING WARRIOR did not receive the MOH, is a question that must be put before the Congress & the Commander in Chief.
Why did he die?? for what? Because a bunch of old white men ordered him to do so for country>
R.I.P young man, you deserve it after being deceived by your country you fought for. R.I.P
