Greetings: What a great video!! I hope everyone agrees..For price point the GT-R is hands down the winner.. 50K differential? On the other hand, Porsche is hard to beat.
A 997 turbo s pdk is faster and handles better than a gt-r35 hands down, don't know what your talking about, and please don't bring up those fake ass nurburgring times posted by NISSAN and other private Japanese companies, it's all don't with handicaps, semi slick tyres 100 octane etc. For marketing and trying to prove there car as better. Most people with 2 cents worth of knowledge know a 500hp car that weighs 4,000lbs with a driver wont beat a Porsche with more power and at 3,500lbs. Trust
@E46325mod Forget about Nurburging, what about the other circuits? What about when it's tested by individual car reviewers? The GT-R is faster than the 911 turbo most of the time, and the only the manufacturer that is "private" about their Nurburgring times, is Porsche. Any manufacturer will tell you a well sorted chassis will always post really fast times, despite the weight and power output.
This just shows that the gtr is not untouchable and even 996's can out pace a gtr, even tho the gtr has twin turbos AWD and a double clutch transmission vs's the gt3's RWD and manual gearbox, not to mention the powerband is way more spread out so you have to rev the shit out of the Porsche to get all it's power.
Drive a gt3 on a wet road and if you can outrun a well driven gtr... well then I 'd like an autograph from you! In real life conditions, gt3 cant keep up with the gtr. It is stupid to compare one of the best awd systems with a rwd race bred car that is focused on lightness...
IMHO you have to work harder to go fast in a porsche, mainly because the rear weighted car has it's quirks...
@fylarxos i think you have by accident flipped the names.... a well driven gt3 spinns circles arround a gtr... man common 1800kg dude the best awd in the world cant keep up with a 1500kg car with 420horses... honestly i am arround the nordschleife nearly every weekend never seen a gtr overtake a gt3 (rs or what so frikkn ever!)
@fylarxos AAND i think you forgot EVERY prosche (absolutely NO exceptence!) are comletely built on the Nordschleife and the hockenheimring........... there is noooo chance!!! on nordschleife WEIGHT is everything no horespower no awd...
@Jetrider91 Well i cannot doubt what you say because I 've never driven neither a porsche or a gtr( I DO know however what's like going fast in a porsche). Given the conditions on the Nordschleife it seems true to be able to outrun a gtr, but you 'll have to be an excellent driver. The difference between the two cars is that even an amateur driver can go fast in a gtr, while in the porsche you have to work harder. It's not about transmission type and horsepower,it's about the feeling of the car.
@fylarxos thats true... ill agree absolutely the porsche is actually quite hard to drive! in fact really hard! hey if you are intrested check out the VLN videos on youtube youll see that we have a porsche armada driving arround here at NNS...
GREAT VIDEO. Porsche is way down on power(996). I do think the driver knew the track better than GTR driver. 996 was VERY FAST for being out gunned in tech and HP department. GTR just had more on the long straight.
Porsche seems faster in the corners even if the track is semi wet!!!!! Gtr way faster on the straight but cummon this is a 996 gt3 rs probably has less than 400hp.
@extravaganza69 ofcourse you expect "gtr to eat it alive" cause thats what you've been told by american test mags. gullible dumbass, welcome to the real world,we all know nothing feels and drives like german cars, you bring a toy with 200hp more ofcourse you would win on straingts, but just dont dare to race a german car with your toy vettes or gtr with the same hp and weight on it, YOU ARE BEEN WARNED!
@ultimolka990 well I'm from Europe and actually never ever read american car mag and I own a MB - clk... The actual difference I expected is by GTR 4x4 and active suspension. Keep the offensive words for yourself.
I haven't driven a gtr but I've driven the 911 turbo pdk but it didn't have the 'feel' of the gt3 on the track - but it was faster down the straight . Dual clutch is much faster but not as rewarding as a manual IMO
sport auto - the online German magazine have the new gtr doing 7:36 around the ring , the new gt3 rs 450 hp did 7:33 - importantly they use stock cars and the same driver . So the two are very close , gt2 rs was 7:24 or so. I've driven the 3.8 gt3 around the track for about 50 laps at queensland raceway and it is a great drivers car , pinpoint handling , great feel through the steering and the sound in first is fantastic, no dual clutch here , traditional manual to test your skill. I've drive
Very equal... congrats to the Porsche driver for going so fast on semi wet conditions. Tha AWD of the GTR may have been made it a bit easier. That was a 996 GT3 RS, with 3.6 liters and 381 bhp NA engine. But it accelerated very well against the GTR, I suppose due to the weight difference. But in the final straight, the twin turbo torque and power won against the Porsche. Maybe against a curent 997 GT3 RS MkII would have more of a struggle in acceleration contest
well porsche is a beautiful simple fast effective car..... gtr is very precise as well and does what it does amazing for its weight, but i think we are faced with AWD vs RWD.......ive always hated AWD but its starting to slowly win me over, welcome to the future !
And imagine how fast those two would be if they had computer controlled differentials to go with their massive power/weight ratio advantage over the GTR! My point is that computers are why we are able to see the porky GTR keep up with cars that appear to be faster on paper like the ZR-1 and even that RS (which is not ten years old btw).
i find it very amusing and very agitated that Porsche fan always listen to their media and end up getting wrong information. Both cars are great, however i do not believe that driving a GTR is like playing a Video game, all cars today have paddle shifters, and a computer, so if you think those electronics make a car drive easier, that's just bullshit. when u actually in that cockpit and put your hand on those steering wheel, then you got your right to complain what the car really is.
Nissan GTR fans will rave about this car but as evidenced by the PDK Porsche Turbo, GT2, Lamborghini Gallardo, Audi R8 V10, Ferrari 599, Italy and the Lexus LFA are superior in acceleration, ie the Nissan GTR is not up to these great sports even though they are close in performance.
Porsche had to use the really expensive Porsche GT3 RS that cost $130,000+ dollars to race with a standard model Nissan GT-R and rarely beat it? LMAO....
With the money I save on getting the Nissan GT-R, I can get a Nissan GT-R P800 or P850. Do know what the Nissan GT-R P850, search on tube and see how it literally destroy of the Porsche has to offer.
@kempowarrior well get in a Porsche and drive it 50times round the ring and come back the next day for a week continuously and do the same thing with your plastic datsun maybe you'll finally realise where the 130,000USD went u dumb american,we have ordinary cars like a datsun and we have PREMIUM cars(PORSCHE) for winners in all aspect of life, pure luxury with expensive gadgets without compromising on performance and not bunch of plastic buttons in you datsun gtr, can't u just see how it is fugly!
I have a GT3 and have driven a GT-R. The GT3 is better. I drove both before purchasing. The GT-R is like a computer game. Not involoving at all. The GT3 is the sum of all its parts!!
2010 Porsche 911 GT3 RS has officially lapped Nurburgring Nordschleife in 7min 33sec. I admit That's still slower than the Nissan GT-R 7m27.56s. However, the new GT3 RS has no turbo charge unlike the GTR. I used to have the gtr 2009 and I sold it for the GT3 RS 2010. I am really enjoying it on street or race track.
@lemaratee Obviously the GT3RS is moded cuz best time ever in stock form is 7:43 witch is a full 17seconds slower than GTRs best time of 7:26.
Its like the GTR passes the Finish line and 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7... 16. 17Seconds later stock GT3RS
And yes GT3RS is better than GTR for endurance racing in stock form... Unlike the rest of the comments here I Would NOT consider a modded GT3 to be as reliable as a Stock GT3
Put some Better Oil Coolers on the GTR n watch it rape gt3 all Day. Fact.
@VTGDoubleVanosATTESA now listen you hillbilly redneck, your gtr 7:26 is a fake ass laptime cause considering the way the gt3 manhandled and outcornered it in this video it just tells it all,but you head is way to deep your ricer ass, where u there when the gtr was tested at the nunrburgring? did they accepted the porsches challenge to test the car in their presence? no. so wtd is the 7:26 time? just keep it to yourself, cause on a real life scenario the Porsche spanks the living shit out of ur toy
yeah it seems to me the porche is kicking the gtrs arse on this course, and from the intelligent people commenting below the porche is the car for long distance track racing
@12389h So here is what does not add up about the GTRs lap times, if it is sooo much more faster than the GT3 why is it struggling to catch up to this porsche in the turns, only on the long straight away did it catch up, in the real world. I mean look at those lap times the GTR is 10-20 seconds quicker in Nissan's hands but in the real world its struggling against what seems to be a 996 GT3Rs.
@osirisvb Stupid comment, how do you know the driver in the GT-R is not going round the Ring for the first time? The GT3 driver has probably done hundreds of laps. All GT-R lap times have been confirmed, whereas Porsche Nurburgring lap times are manufacturers claim. Yet Porsche claimed Nissan was lying. I like Porsches, but saying a GT3 RS is faster than a GT-R makes it pretty obvious that your just a hater.
@12389h how do you know the GT3 driver has done 100 laps, infact your comment is more 'stupid' than mine. Confirmed by whom? And your comment makes you look any better? I question how fast the GTR is by what i see in the real world. The GTR is going all out in the same conditions as the GT3 yet he can't catch up, only on the straight away he barely catches up. Not really making me believe all these hype times of the GTR.
@osirisvb I said "The GT3 driver has PROBABLY done hundreds of laps", that is possible.
Fact is, when both cars are in the hands of professional racing drivers, the GT-R has always been faster than the GT3 RS. The only car Porsche makes which is faster than GT-R is the 620hp GT2 RS, which costs 3 times more. Get your facts right before commenting, or are you just a hater?
@12389h So you made an assumption that you are not even too sure about?like you hate porsche? I know the GTR lap times dont add up. This video is one major example. There are other video as well that cast a lot of doubt. The fact is I am begining to loose faith in all these manufacturer run ring times, ones that are completely impossible in the real world. The fact is the GT3 gave the GTR a big run for the money when Nissan claims the GTR is 10-20 seconds faster...doesnt add up in the real world
@osirisvb Type "2012 GTR nurburgring" in the Youtube serach bar. You can't judge a car by videos made by people on track days. Anybody can show up in a GT-R to the ring, doesn't matter whether they're good drivers, or bad. It's only when a car hits the track, with a professional at the wheel, when we see what it can do. You have no evidence with your ridiculous claims. Porsche shut up long ago about the GT-R times being false, unfortunately the haters haven't shut up yet.
@12389h Well videos made by real people in the real world is more plausible than manufacturer claimed times. I didnt know you needed to be a good driver to drive a car that practically drives itself. I mean how much skill do you need to push accelerator/ break/ steer. I just said these times for the GTR really dont add up. A 996 GT RS gave the GTR a run for the money in the same conditions, so dont get all worked fanboy, you clearly are a GTR fanboy. GTR is god right? LOL.
@osirisvb What?! Maybe we should ask "real people in the real world" to prescribe the correct drugs, for our illnesses, instead of going to the doctors. You need to be a good driver to take any car to it's limit. Accelerating, braking and steering don't take much skill, but doing those things on the most demanding track in the world takes a lot of skill. It's clear you don't know anything about racing or the GT-R. You claim the times don't add up, but have you ever sat in a GT-R?
@12389h And have you driven one? I bet you haven't either, have you taken GTR around the ring? typical internet fanboy acting like he knows it all. The times dont add up, plain and simple, how else would a car that the manufacturer claims to be 20 seconds faster than its competition has problems running away from those same cars its supposed be faster than by 20 seconds in the real world. Your drugs analogy is a complete disaster and clearly shows you have no clue what you are talking about.
@osirisvb I didn't claim to have driven a GT-R. I've sat in one while it was being raced and I believe those times are 100% correct. I don't know why I'm telling you this anyway, your just a hater. Keep posting those impressive 0-60 figures in your ridiculously fast Acura RL!
@12389h I like how all the internet fanbois have had seat time in every super car out ther. PS3 does not count. Please dont spew rubbish of things being 100 percent current when none of it is replicable.
@osirisvb Anybody who claims to have sat in a GT-R is a "fanboy" and a liar, because even sitting in a $70,000 car is impossible. A liar would have told you there's one parked up in the garage, I didn't claim to own it or even drive it. If I really wanted to drive it, I could go to Silverstone circuit (which is 50 miles away) and hire one out for a few laps, it's not impossible. It maybe impossible to do that where your from, that's why your posting acceleration times in a luxury sedan.
@12389h You just sound like the average 'fanboy' who claims to know it all, like when you said the times are 100 percent but yet Porsche a manufacturer that has been designing world class sports coupes since when Nissan was know as datsun and even before came and called them out, nissan's response, a bad joke. But hell, guys like you "could' do this and that, but of course have 0 videos uploaded. If the times are replicable, ill belive it, but this video clearly proves otherwise.
@osirisvb I'm not the one who claims to know it all. Your the one who continuously said "the GT-R times don't add up", how would you know? Have you ever sat in one? Do you even know how the GT-R works?
The cars aren't going around the ring themselves, there are drivers behind the wheels. The point I'm trying to get across into your thick skull is, that it doesn't matter how fast a car is, if the driver is not driving properly it can lose to anything.
@12389h wrap this around your 'thick skull' a 996 GT3 ran with the GTR that Nissan claims is over 15 seconds slower than its hyped GTR. There is also another video of a carrera GT leaving the GTR behind in the ring another car Nissan 'claims' to have beaten by a wide margin. /watch?v=KXHC1vJ7IvA <-- check that video out. The Carrera GT looks like it waited for the GTR at 4:34, it just started opening up the gap and had to wait. And the GTR driver was pushing really hard and wasnt a bad driver.
@12389h And you know everything sitting from behind a computer screen and experiencing it all? Please typical fanboi rubbish.
1st video you posted was a drag race with the Carrera GT almost stalling off the line. Several comments said carrera driver was an inexperienced person, 2nd video of yours is a modified GTR vs Carrera GT, no where near the ring. Last video is a chop job of Nissan's run side by side with a carrera gt. Funny how the GTR is so fast in Nissan's hands.
@12389h The video I Posted showed two experienced independent drivers going against each other in the ring in a 1v1 with no traffic. The carrera GT was leaving the GTR behind and had to wait for the GTR. Both cars were stock. Again Nissan's lap times are always nice to see, but none of it is replicable in the real world, and raises a lot of questions about whether these lap times are truely indicative of the stock cars performance or if it is a highly modified ringer test GTR.
@12389h When I see videos like this or the one where the Carrera GT was walking away from the GTR on the ring with no traffic in an experienced independent drivers hands, I wonder, how is it Nissan claims 7:24? But in the real world the GTR has a tough time dealing with 996s. Shouldnt experienced drivers be able to pull atleast something close to Nissans time? But yet the GTR struggles with 996s and gets walked by a carrera GT at ther same track where nissan claims its GTR is 5 seconds faster.
1993 viper vs 2009 GTR. Both cars are driven in the Advanced class session. The viper driver always has the GTR in his sights even with a chasis thats over 15 years older than the GTR and a car making less hp than the GTR.
@osirisvb Advanced class session doesn't mean they're good drivers. Not everybody who takes a GT-R to a track day is an experienced driver. A stock 93 Viper does a 1/4 mile in 12.6, the 09 GT-R does it 11.3, I think everybody knows which car is faster. Lets just say Nissan is lying, what about all the other individual car reviewers/testers, are they lying too?
How many awards has the Carerra GT won compared to the GT-R? And what's the price, HP and weight difference between the 2 cars?
@12389h I know you are trying to side track with all your "how many awards..etc...etc" I am not going to get involved in this sorta talk. These drivers in the 'advanced' class have way more seat time than you will have in your life. So please dont sit behind a computer screen and assume like you know it all and can do better. The point is, Nissan's lap times are sketchy to say the least. How many individual testers have gone on to the ring? I found one video on youtube so far and I posted it.
@osirisvb I never assumed I'm a better driver than them, I'm just letting you know that most people with a GT-R, wont to have the ability to post incredibly fast lap times. If you look at the lap times of the GT-R on other circuits, you will know this car has the potential to get round the ring in 7:24. You have no evidence apart from 2-3 track day videos and your the only one here talking about how they are "sketchy", yet you probably haven't even seen a GT-R or been to the track.
@12389h Wont have the abliity to post the lap time, sure, but atleast come close to it. I can understand if the lap time was 5-7 seconds off, Nissan has some legitimacy to their claim, but people are posting no where near what Nissan claims. And then watching a carrera GT, 996 GT3 & a 1993 viper keeping up and or beating the GTR handily in the real world. So i question the sketchy lap times by Nissan. If that makes me a hater in your eyes, i am not overly concerned about ur opinion.
@osirisvb When the Nissan first posted Nurburgring times Porsche accused Nissan of lying. When people began testing the 911 turbo and the GT-R, the GT-R almost always came out on top in a number of independent tests.
Just in case you don't believe me, I'll supply you with something which you haven't given me yet, reliable evidence.
@osirisvb Okay hater, lets just say for arguments sake, Nissan did lie about their Nurburgring times. What about all the other circuits the GT-R beats the 997 GT3 RS (never mind the 996)? Top Gear test track, Laguna Seca and Fuji Speedway are just some of those circuits. Funny how you take those out the equation. Nobody is denying the fact that the GT3 RS is a fast car, but it's still slower than the GT-R. Amazing isn't it, a stripped out track bred car, can't beat Nissan's sports grand tourer.
@12389h Again your opinion of me is not of an consequence. So I dont give a rats arse about your opinion. However I remember recalling in the early stages when the GTR was first released that Nissan's engineers were on site with their test GTRs that they sent out to reviewers, tuning it for optimal performance. So you can tell me this that and the other, but it doesnt change the fact that Nissan has a shady past and their ring times are quite sketchy.
@osirisvb I keep hearing the same thing from you. That usually happens when haters run out of excuses and arguments, that have no backing. For that reason I'll leave you be.
@12389h Or maybe its a fanboi coming to the realization you can sing and dance the GTR song all you want, when things dont add up people are going to question it. BTW i just saw a test video of the GTR running the ring in 2011 oct. They clearly show removal of stock seats, a guy with a laptop fine tuning something or the other, and god knows what else was done. We see the car being worked on in a workshop by Nissan techs. So dont tell me its stock when they run those ring times.
@12389h Then explain to me how come there are videos of the GTR looses to a 996 GT3 RS? Where is this famed speed of the GTR? All these magazines you posted has any of them taken the GTR on the ring? if the answer is no then your argument is really not valid.
@osirisvb ummm... that's called a novice driver. GTRs in the videos you see on Youtube are mostly driven by inexperienced drivers. Yes, the GT3 is a quick car in the hands of a good driver, but give him a GTR, he will go even faster. Watch the videos i have posted. I had hunted down countless 996 GT3RS and 997 Turbo S in my race car, but I can't come near the GTR driven by a good driver. Don't take me wrong, I love Porsche, but GT3 is just NOT as quick as GTR.
that is how an impressive car looks like(from behind); while in the GT-R, the driver took almost all the corners with his tyres squealing, the RS looked composed, rarely losing composture!(and that's a car with no ESP and no traction control vs. a car all wired up)
the big diff is.., for a man to drive fast in that RS, he needs to(rly) know how to take a corner or more corners in close succesion. in the GT-R, u only need to know how to move the wheel, and the car does the rest for u.
@eugenux:: you should appreciate that the GTR can keep up with and pass a race prepped extreme sports version of the 911!
If ur a 911 fan boy then thats just fine. But understand that the GTR has huge mechanical grip as witnessed when you switch off the traction control. This is what Jeremy Clarkson did on his thriller DVD and noticed no difference in the cars amazing capabilities. i.e. the car is massively capable underneath any electronic aids. The same aids that keep the 911 on the road
actually, this is the only porsche variant of a 911 that i like ! ;), aand, ur confusing the modells;yes, 997.mk1 gt3 rs has esp, ptm, pasm, etc-etc..and the same thing is with the 997.mk2; but the 2003-2005 GT3 RS didn't had any of that, just ABS;that's why this car, at least in my book, will be btw some of the best around this planet!, the GT-R simply makes u look good(as a driver) instead of making u become good !(a better driver)-> that's it's biggest fault in my opinion.
@eugenux the 911 is a nice car. i'm just amazed that what is fundamentally a flawed design has been polished and polished over 40 years to become a great car. But I just think its unfair that that what keeps the 911 on the road are computers & this is overlooked while people talk about the GTR computers etc.
Like I said, I have driven the 2009 models of both the 911 and GTR and I liked them both. Pls don't overestimate what computers do. u still need good skills to drive any car very fast.
i've had the luck to drive(for a vvv. short amount of time) an '06 carrera 4s cabriolet..and it was a magical experience(al least, from my perspective); still.., a "regular" 911...doesn't come eaven close to the GT3 RS !(i just belive that, i don't know for sure...but i hope that, some day, i will find out it was a correct asumption); my strong belive in the RS is because i think that there aren't anyother cars, beside a scuderia, that can provide that type of driver involvment.
the feeling is that a GT3 is purpous build; not for the race circuit(although it is), but purpose build for sheer excitement at the wheel.., a process that includes feeling the car, learning the car, then learn about urself.., improve urself...it's a pure specially designed "tool" for driving; GT-R is build for speed..., where the purpose of such a car should be the experience itself.., not the end result; i don't think eavean for a second that lapping the ring in a GT-R would...
...provide nothing more then a big grin on my face and a real and true feel of excitement(smth like driving a mech robot crossed with a batmobile at a v. high speed)...so, yeah, sounds like fun; but, would i feel the same after a year.., or after 2 ?; in contrast, i tend to belive the guys from evo..when they said that the gt3(rs or no rs) is a drivers car for life!, every drive is a new experience.., regardless of the speed, the pure feel of the car(wheel, gearshift, noise, pedals..
in the end it's simply a mather of preff., what do u want ?, to drive hard and have a electronic nanny that looks after you when u go beserk ?, or a car that first teaches u that u still have much to learn, reveling it to urself slowly, reaching it's full potential step by step and, by being so, making itself in the process more rewardfull to u as a driver.
but taking driving skills into cons., for the majority of people(me included), the best and safest(because of it's driving aids) iteration would be the last(997.mk2 RS); simply put it.., in the 996 u rly need to know what r u doing..and the same goes for the 997.mk2; the diff is, when u discover that u don't actually know what u r doing, u might still have a chance to not crash in the 997 rs, while in the 996..that was it, end of the line pal !:D(the diff btw driving aids and nothing)
don't get me wrong...if someone would give me the keys of a GT-R, i'll drive a hell of that machine.., enjoying it's potential and capabilities...but, and there is a big but, if would involve my onw money...i wouldn't eaven take it into consideration -> with that money, i'd rather buy a good r-34 and make some intelligent upgrades on it.., or an m3 cls...or eaven a slightly old 911...a car with the focus on what the driver is capable..not on itself.
why on earth do people keep talking about the 911 as a drivers car and the GTR is just run by computers. How on earth do you think a car with the engine behind the rear axle stays on the road? Because of all the computers on board!!
Try driving an early 911 and tell me its a driver car. It was dangerous and would rip off your face and eat your kids before throwing you into a corner and killing you.
I've driven the 911 and GTR are both great cars, huge fun to drive but with different characters
u know nothing abou 996 GT3 RS, don't u dude ?, then.., let me enlight u : it' s all about mechanical grip !!, aka.."supreme" optimised drivetrain and, in the case of 996 RS, that's all about mechanical engineering !!, the car itself has no ESP or traction control, just ABS !, so, yeah..it's a(true) drivers car for life..!(to quote the guys from evo);in return, GT-R(although, an awesome car) is for crappy drivers who want to pose as racing masters(which they r not!).sad but true :)
@eugenux : i never understand how people come on youtube and dont check facts: The 911 GT3 RS has stability programs and traction control. Just go to the Porsche website and check. "To contribute towards safety and driving stability within the dynamic range, the 911 GT3 and new 911 GT3 RS are fitted for the first time with Porsche Stability Management (PSM). In addition to the anti-lock braking system (ABS), it includes two automatic control systems: Stability Control (SC) and Traction Control
If you ask me (and none of you did that but still...), i would say that the difference between these two cars, are the bits of flesh standing behind the steering wheel... the Porsche driver is clearly the more experienced one here, you can see that the GTR guy doesn't even know where the braking points are... same driver, same track, same conditions, no doubt GTR would win the day. Here thow... hat's off to the Porsche driver...
Nice vid. At 6:25 gtr said oh i need to slow down or i will fuck that shitty porshce LoL
And then at 6:50 move fucking german shit , you are so slow move move your nazi ass .ahhaah.JAPAN RULES . Yoa are all mad beacause a cheap jap kick you high price trash.
the nissan won`t bite if he would step on it wen exiting the corners :) he would gain a lot more time to the porche that it lighter and harder to stear ;)
@aetechllc LMFAO, the gt3 would make the gtr look like a toy with equally skilled drivers. the Germans have stepped it up by building a drivers car not a car that drives itself.
@aetechllc LMFAO, the GT3 would make the GTR look like a toy with equally skilled drivers, the Germans have stepped it up by building a drivers car, not a car that drives itself. not to mention that was a 996, good luck against the new 2010 997 GT3RS
Strange what everyone see here. GT-R's are much faster than GT3's on the track, really any track, assuming the same driver skill. Here the GT3 drive was MUCH better than the GT-R driver. Without traffic the GT3 was LONG GONE.
I dont get it, the GTR is supposed to be faster than the Carrera GT on the nurburgring but here it cant even keep up with a 996 GT3 rs around the ring, and only able to pass it on the straight away..lol! Something doesnt add up.
the 996 GT3 RS, "in the hands" of walter rohrl, managed to make a lap on the ring in 7.43..., that's damn impressive !, and further testimony of what that car is capable; on a good mountain road, despite of what most of GT-R fanboys think, a GT3(RS or no RS) will smoke a GT-R !(because : it's more nimble, more agile, it's smaller, lighter, provides u feedback of what the wheels r doing and many-many other things like that)
@eugenux agreed, this is why when Nissan published a time of 7:27 or w/e bogus time they did for the GTR around the Nurburing Porsche immediately challenged them, but Nissan did not accept the challenge. I knew the GTRs lap time posted by Nissan was a fake, they used a ringer GTR aka Modified GTR to post the super fast lap times, but in the real world the GTR will have problems with a 996 GT3 RS as indicated by this video.
@osirisvb i couldn't agree any better, the nurnburgring time of the gtr is nothing but a fake laptime,no way can the car make 7:26 stock.the video here shows who the KING really is. PORSCHE walks on you anyday of the year, and this is not even the GT2 rs,it would blow your nissan out of the outer hemisphere had it been the RS!
Exactly, well said. Price out a new GT3RS, around 150 thousand dollars. Take the same money and buy 2 GT R35's. To me it is a "no brainer"...GT R35 rules!!!
Yes, but it's because the GT3 RS is a focused track car than the GT-R. The GT-R is a road car you can use on the track. Not to mention that the RS is lighter because it's stripped out. You should've tested the GT3 RS against the Spec V GT-R which is most likely the equivalent of the RS.
in the hands of a skilled driver the porsche is faster, and the GTR's brakes would fade sooner than the 911's. good vid- but the guy in the GT3 was definately being cautious- maybe because it was wet?
It looks like the GT-R left a bit of speed on the table in some parts, but still a great piece of driving. It just shows how well the driver of the 911 was doing. Great show from both cars!
surprize? - at the passing you can see that it is a 996 RS, a 7 year old car by now with 381HP, a 100 HP less... solid driving though on both sides. Impressive uphill acceleration of the GTR in Kesselchen section.
Great video. The Porsche is a very nice vehicle but The Nissan was better and even costs less. :)

Trust
E46325mod 1 month ago 3
@E46325mod You are wrong, magazine motorsport tested both cars on a track and the 2012 GT-R won. GT-R also weighs 3800 lbs btw.

@geforce5591 I do admit this but, end users are not pros on the track!.
and at wet weather the GTR has disadvantages.
nihonkokusai 1 month ago

IMHO you have to work harder to go fast in a porsche, mainly because the rear weighted car has it's quirks...
fylarxos 1 month ago 4
@fylarxos i think you have by accident flipped the names.... a well driven gt3 spinns circles arround a gtr... man common 1800kg dude the best awd in the world cant keep up with a 1500kg car with 420horses... honestly i am arround the nordschleife nearly every weekend never seen a gtr overtake a gt3 (rs or what so frikkn ever!)

Jetrider91 1 month ago
@Jetrider91 Well i cannot doubt what you say because I 've never driven neither a porsche or a gtr( I DO know however what's like going fast in a porsche). Given the conditions on the Nordschleife it seems true to be able to outrun a gtr, but you 'll have to be an excellent driver. The difference between the two cars is that even an amateur driver can go fast in a gtr, while in the porsche you have to work harder. It's not about transmission type and horsepower,it's about the feeling of the car.

GREAT VIDEO. Porsche is way down on power(996). I do think the driver knew the track better than GTR driver. 996 was VERY FAST for being out gunned in tech and HP department. GTR just had more on the long straight.

I haven't driven a gtr but I've driven the 911 turbo pdk but it didn't have the 'feel' of the gt3 on the track - but it was faster down the straight . Dual clutch is much faster but not as rewarding as a manual IMO
srad66 2 months ago
sport auto - the online German magazine have the new gtr doing 7:36 around the ring , the new gt3 rs 450 hp did 7:33 - importantly they use stock cars and the same driver . Maybe against a curent 997 GT3 RS MkII would have more of a struggle in acceleration contest

i find it very amusing and very agitated that Porsche fan always listen to their media and end up getting wrong information. Both cars are great, however i do not believe that driving a GTR is like playing a Video game, all cars today have paddle shifters, and a computer, so if you think those electronics make a car drive easier, that's just bullshit. when u actually in that cockpit and put your hand on those steering wheel, then you got your right to complain what the car really is.
nbaplayerlebron 9 months ago
Nissan GTR fans will rave about this car but as evidenced by the PDK Porsche Turbo, GT2, Lamborghini Gallardo, Audi R8 V10, Ferrari 599, Italy and the Lexus LFA are superior in acceleration, ie the Nissan GTR is not up to these great sports even though they are close in performance.

I am really enjoying it on street or race track.

this is not GT3 RS Look at the exhaust tips , the GT3 RS has the tips on the middle, while the one in the Vedio has the tipss on the both sides
lemaratee 1 year ago
@lemaratee Obviously the GT3RS is moded cuz best time ever in stock form is 7:43 witch is a full 17seconds slower than GTRs best time of 7:26.
Its like the GTR passes the Finish line and 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7... 16. 17Seconds later stock GT3RS
And yes GT3RS is better than GTR for endurance racing in stock form... Unlike the rest of the comments here I Would NOT consider a modded GT3 to be as reliable as a Stock GT3

@12389h So here is what does not add up about the GTRs lap times, if it is sooo much more faster than the GT3 why is it struggling to catch up to this porsche in the turns, only on the long straight away did it catch up, in the real world. I mean look at those lap times the GTR is 10-20 seconds quicker in Nissan's hands but in the real world its struggling against what seems to be a 996 GT3Rs.
osirisvb 3 months ago
@osirisvb Stupid comment, how do you know the driver in the GT-R is not going round the Ring for the first time? The GT3 driver has probably done hundreds of laps. All GT-R lap times have been confirmed, whereas Porsche Nurburgring lap times are manufacturers claim. Yet Porsche claimed Nissan was lying. I like Porsches, but saying a GT3 RS is faster than a GT-R makes it pretty obvious that your just a hater.
12389h 3 months ago
@12389h how do you know the GT3 driver has done 100 laps, infact your comment is more 'stupid' than mine. Confirmed by whom? And your comment makes you look any better? I question how fast the GTR is by what i see in the real world. The GTR is going all out in the same conditions as the GT3 yet he can't catch up, only on the straight away he barely catches up. Not really making me believe all these hype times of the GTR.
osirisvb 3 months ago
@osirisvb I said "The GT3 driver has PROBABLY done hundreds of laps", that is possible.
Fact is, when both cars are in the hands of professional racing drivers, the GT-R has always been faster than the GT3 RS. The only car Porsche makes which is faster than GT-R is the 620hp GT2 RS, which costs 3 times more. Get your facts right before commenting, or are you just a hater?
12389h 3 months ago
@12389h So you made an assumption that you are not even too sure about?like you hate porsche? I know the GTR lap times dont add up. This video is one major example. There are other video as well that cast a lot of doubt. The fact is I am begining to loose faith in all these manufacturer run ring times, ones that are completely impossible in the real world. The fact is the GT3 gave the GTR a big run for the money when Nissan claims the GTR is 10-20 seconds faster...doesnt add up in the real world
osirisvb 3 months ago
@osirisvb Type "2012 GTR nurburgring" in the Youtube serach bar. You can't judge a car by videos made by people on track days. Anybody can show up in a GT-R to the ring, doesn't matter whether they're good drivers, or bad. It's only when a car hits the track, with a professional at the wheel, when we see what it can do. You have no evidence with your ridiculous claims. Porsche shut up long ago about the GT-R times being false, unfortunately the haters haven't shut up yet.
12389h 3 months ago
@12389h Well videos made by real people in the real world is more plausible than manufacturer claimed times. I didnt know you needed to be a good driver to drive a car that practically drives itself. I mean how much skill do you need to push accelerator/ break/ steer. I just said these times for the GTR really dont add up. A 996 GT RS gave the GTR a run for the money in the same conditions, so dont get all worked fanboy, you clearly are a GTR fanboy. GTR is god right? LOL.
osirisvb 3 months ago
@osirisvb What?! Maybe we should ask "real people in the real world" to prescribe the correct drugs, for our illnesses, instead of going to the doctors. You need to be a good driver to take any car to it's limit. Accelerating, braking and steering don't take much skill, but doing those things on the most demanding track in the world takes a lot of skill. It's clear you don't know anything about racing or the GT-R. You claim the times don't add up, but have you ever sat in a GT-R?
12389h 3 months ago
@12389h And have you driven one? I bet you haven't either, have you taken GTR around the ring? typical internet fanboy acting like he knows it all. The times dont add up, plain and simple, how else would a car that the manufacturer claims to be 20 seconds faster than its competition has problems running away from those same cars its supposed be faster than by 20 seconds in the real world. Your drugs analogy is a complete disaster and clearly shows you have no clue what you are talking about.
osirisvb 3 months ago
@osirisvb I didn't claim to have driven a GT-R. I've sat in one while it was being raced and I believe those times are 100% correct. I don't know why I'm telling you this anyway, your just a hater. Keep posting those impressive 0-60 figures in your ridiculously fast Acura RL!
12389h 3 months ago
@12389h I like how all the internet fanbois have had seat time in every super car out ther. PS3 does not count. Please dont spew rubbish of things being 100 percent current when none of it is replicable.
osirisvb 3 months ago
@osirisvb Anybody who claims to have sat in a GT-R is a "fanboy" and a liar, because even sitting in a $70,000 car is impossible. A liar would have told you there's one parked up in the garage, I didn't claim to own it or even drive it. If I really wanted to drive it, I could go to Silverstone circuit (which is 50 miles away) and hire one out for a few laps, it's not impossible. It maybe impossible to do that where your from, that's why your posting acceleration times in a luxury sedan.
12389h 3 months ago
@12389h You just sound like the average 'fanboy' who claims to know it all, like when you said the times are 100 percent but yet Porsche a manufacturer that has been designing world class sports coupes since when Nissan was know as datsun and even before came and called them out, nissan's response, a bad joke. But hell, guys like you "could' do this and that, but of course have 0 videos uploaded. If the times are replicable, ill belive it, but this video clearly proves otherwise.
osirisvb 3 months ago
@osirisvb I'm not the one who claims to know it all. Your the one who continuously said "the GT-R times don't add up", how would you know? Have you ever sat in one? Do you even know how the GT-R works?
The cars aren't going around the ring themselves, there are drivers behind the wheels. The point I'm trying to get across into your thick skull is, that it doesn't matter how fast a car is, if the driver is not driving properly it can lose to anything.
12389h 3 months ago

Funny how the GTR is so fast in Nissan's hands.
osirisvb 3 months ago
@12389h The video I Posted showed two experienced independent drivers going against each other in the ring in a 1v1 with no traffic. The carrera GT was leaving the GTR behind and had to wait for the GTR. Both cars were stock. Again Nissan's lap times are always nice to see, but none of it is replicable in the real world, and raises a lot of questions about whether these lap times are truely indicative of the stock cars performance or if it is a highly modified ringer test GTR.
osirisvb 3 months ago
@osirisvb So your trying to say Nissan are secretly tuning the test vehicles, to post those incredible times?
12389h 3 months ago
@12389h When I see videos like this or the one where the Carrera GT was walking away from the GTR on the ring with no traffic in an experienced independent drivers hands, I wonder, how is it Nissan claims 7:24? But in the real world the GTR has a tough time dealing with 996s. Shouldnt experienced drivers be able to pull atleast something close to Nissans time? But yet the GTR struggles with 996s and gets walked by a carrera GT at ther same track where nissan claims its GTR is 5 seconds faster.

@12389h /watch?v=ZbWnSUXS7k8
1993 viper vs 2009 GTR. Both cars are driven in the Advanced class session. The viper driver always has the GTR in his sights even with a chasis thats over 15 years older than the GTR and a car making less hp than the GTR.
osirisvb 3 months ago
@osirisvb Advanced class session doesn't mean they're good drivers. Not everybody who takes a GT-R to a track day is an experienced driver. A stock 93 Viper does a 1/4 mile in 12.6, the 09 GT-R does it 11.3, I think everybody knows which car is faster. Lets just say Nissan is lying, what about all the other individual car reviewers/testers, are they lying too?
How many awards has the Carerra GT won compared to the GT-R? And what's the price, HP and weight difference between the 2 cars?
12389h 3 months ago
@12389h I know you are trying to side track with all your "how many awards..etc...etc" I am not going to get involved in this sorta talk. These drivers in the 'advanced' class have way more seat time than you will have in your life. So please dont sit behind a computer screen and assume like you know it all and can do better. The point is, Nissan's lap times are sketchy to say the least. How many individual testers have gone on to the ring? I found one video on youtube so far and I posted it.
osirisvb 3 months ago
@osirisvb I never assumed I'm a better driver than them, I'm just letting you know that most people with a GT-R, wont to have the ability to post incredibly fast lap times. If you look at the lap times of the GT-R on other circuits, you will know this car has the potential to get round the ring in 7:24. You have no evidence apart from 2-3 track day videos and your the only one here talking about how they are "sketchy", yet you probably haven't even seen a GT-R or been to the track.
12389h 3 months ago
@12389h Wont have the abliity to post the lap time, sure, but atleast come close to it. I can understand if the lap time was 5-7 seconds off, Nissan has some legitimacy to their claim, but people are posting no where near what Nissan claims. And then watching a carrera GT, 996 GT3 & a 1993 viper keeping up and or beating the GTR handily in the real world. So i question the sketchy lap times by Nissan. If that makes me a hater in your eyes, i am not overly concerned about ur opinion.
osirisvb 3 months ago
@osirisvb When the Nissan first posted Nurburgring times Porsche accused Nissan of lying. When people began testing the 911 turbo and the GT-R, the GT-R almost always came out on top in a number of independent tests.
Just in case you don't believe me, I'll supply you with something which you haven't given me yet, reliable evidence.
12389h 3 months ago
@12389h When fanbois talk about reliable evidence, it makes me chuckle..lol
osirisvb 3 months ago
@osirisvb Okay hater, lets just say for arguments sake, Nissan did lie about their Nurburgring times. What about all the other circuits the GT-R beats the 997 GT3 RS (never mind the 996)? Top Gear test track, Laguna Seca and Fuji Speedway are just some of those circuits. Funny how you take those out the equation. Nobody is denying the fact that the GT3 RS is a fast car, but it's still slower than the GT-R. Amazing isn't it, a stripped out track bred car, can't beat Nissan's sports grand tourer.
12389h 3 months ago
@12389h Again your opinion of me is not of an consequence. So I dont give a rats arse about your opinion. However I remember recalling in the early stages when the GTR was first released that Nissan's engineers were on site with their test GTRs that they sent out to reviewers, tuning it for optimal performance. So you can tell me this that and the other, but it doesnt change the fact that Nissan has a shady past and their ring times are quite sketchy.

@osirisvb I keep hearing the same thing from you. That usually happens when haters run out of excuses and arguments, that have no backing. For that reason I'll leave you be.
12389h 3 months ago
@12389h Or maybe its a fanboi coming to the realization you can sing and dance the GTR song all you want, when things dont add up people are going to question it. BTW i just saw a test video of the GTR running the ring in 2011 oct. They clearly show removal of stock seats, a guy with a laptop fine tuning something or the other, and god knows what else was done. We see the car being worked on in a workshop by Nissan techs. So dont tell me its stock when they run those ring times.
osirisvb 3 months ago
@12389h Here is something else that was sighted by another poster who posted on that video who happens to OWN a GTR:
"watching the video I realized something, their test car doesn't seem to "lean" on the turns, like a GTR with OEM sway bars would....hmm "

@osirisvb CAR Magazine tested the GT-R and 911 turbo around Rockingham, the GT-R beat it.
Evo magazine tested the GT-R and 911 GT3 Bedford Autodrome circuit, the GT-R was a lot faster.
Car and Driver compared the GT-R on Reno-Fernley Raceway with the 911 Turbo, the GT-R won.
Road & Track achieved faster lap times than the 911 turbo.
I could go on and on. If the GT-R has beaten the 911 turbo S, imagine what would it do to the slower GT3 RS.
12389h 3 months ago

Don't take me wrong, I love Porsche, but GT3 is just NOT as quick as GTR.
yg10606 2 months ago
@osirisvb There is a simple word to describe you, based on your way of thinking, we call them haters.
12389h 3 months ago
that is how an impressive car looks like(from behind); while in the GT-R, the driver took almost all the corners with his tyres squealing, the RS looked composed, rarely losing composture!(and that's a car with no ESP and no traction control vs. a car all wired up)
the big diff is.., for a man to drive fast in that RS, he needs to(rly) know how to take a corner or more corners in close succesion. in the GT-R, u only need to know how to move the wheel, and the car does the rest for u.
eugenux 1 year ago
@eugenux:: you should appreciate that the GTR can keep up with and pass a race prepped extreme sports version of the 911!
If ur a 911 fan boy then thats just fine. But understand that the GTR has huge mechanical grip as witnessed when you switch off the traction control. This is what Jeremy Clarkson did on his thriller DVD and noticed no difference in the cars amazing capabilities. i.e. the car is massively capable underneath any electronic aids. The same aids that keep the 911 on the road
DigTheStig 1 year ago
@DigTheStig
actually, this is the only porsche variant of a 911 that i like ! ;), aand, ur confusing the modells;yes, 997.mk1 gt3 rs has esp, ptm, pasm, etc-etc..and the same thing is with the 997.mk2; but the 2003-2005 GT3 RS didn't had any of that, just ABS;that's why this car, at least in my book, will be btw some of the best around this planet!, the GT-R simply makes u look good(as a driver) instead of making u become good !(a better driver)-> that's it's biggest fault in my opinion.
eugenux 1 year ago
@eugenux the 911 is a nice car. i'm just amazed that what is fundamentally a flawed design has been polished and polished over 40 years to become a great car. But I just think its unfair that that what keeps the 911 on the road are computers & this is overlooked while people talk about the GTR computers etc.
Like I said, I have driven the 2009 models of both the 911 and GTR and I liked them both. Pls don't overestimate what computers do. u still need good skills to drive any car very fast.
DigTheStig 1 year ago
@DigTheStig
i've had the luck to drive(for a vvv. short amount of time) an '06 carrera 4s cabriolet..and it was a magical experience(al least, from my perspective); still.., a "regular" 911...doesn't come eaven close to the GT3 RS !(i just belive that, i don't know for sure...but i hope that, some day, i will find out it was a correct asumption); my strong belive in the RS is because i think that there aren't anyother cars, beside a scuderia, that can provide that type of driver involvment.
eugenux 1 year ago
@DigTheStig
the feeling is that a GT3 is purpous build; not for the race circuit(although it is), but purpose build for sheer excitement at the wheel.., a process that includes feeling the car, learning the car, then learn about urself.., improve urself...it's a pure specially designed "tool" for driving; GT-R is build for speed..., where the purpose of such a car should be the experience itself.., not the end result; i don't think eavean for a second that lapping the ring in a GT-R would...
eugenux 1 year ago
@eugenux
...provide nothing more then a big grin on my face and a real and true feel of excitement(smth like driving a mech robot crossed with a batmobile at a v. high speed)...so, yeah, sounds like fun; but, would i feel the same after a year.., or after 2 ?; in contrast, i tend to belive the guys from evo..when they said that the gt3(rs or no rs) is a drivers car for life!, every drive is a new experience.., regardless of the speed, the pure feel of the car(wheel, gearshift, noise, pedals..
eugenux 1 year ago
@eugenux
in the end it's simply a mather of preff., what do u want ?, to drive hard and have a electronic nanny that looks after you when u go beserk ?, or a car that first teaches u that u still have much to learn, reveling it to urself slowly, reaching it's full potential step by step and, by being so, making itself in the process more rewardfull to u as a driver.
for that, i think the 996 RS is the perfect car !
eugenux 1 year ago
@eugenux
but taking driving skills into cons., for the majority of people(me included), the best and safest(because of it's driving aids) iteration would be the last(997.mk2 RS); simply put it.., in the 996 u rly need to know what r u doing..and the same goes for the 997.mk2; the diff is, when u discover that u don't actually know what u r doing, u might still have a chance to not crash in the 997 rs, while in the 996..that was it, end of the line pal !:D(the diff btw driving aids and nothing)
eugenux 1 year ago
@DigTheStig
don't get me wrong...if someone would give me the keys of a GT-R, i'll drive a hell of that machine.., enjoying it's potential and capabilities...but, and there is a big but, if would involve my onw money...i wouldn't eaven take it into consideration -> with that money, i'd rather buy a good r-34 and make some intelligent upgrades on it.., or an m3 cls...or eaven a slightly old 911...a car with the focus on what the driver is capable..not on itself.
cheers,
eugenux 1 year ago
if you drive with an GTR on the nordschleife you lose your guarante, lol
jelzin1985 1 year ago
why on earth do people keep talking about the 911 as a drivers car and the GTR is just run by computers.
DigTheStig 1 year ago
@DigTheStig
u know nothing abou 996 GT3 RS, don't u dude ?, then.., let me enlight u : it' s all about mechanical grip !!, aka.."supreme" optimised drivetrain and, in the case of 996 RS, that's all about mechanical engineering !!, the car itself has no ESP or traction control, just ABS !, so, yeah..it's a(true) drivers car for life..!(to quote the guys from evo);in return, GT-R(although, an awesome car) is for crappy drivers who want to pose as racing masters(which they r not!).sad but true :)
eugenux 1 year ago
@eugenux : i never understand how people come on youtube and dont check facts: The 911 GT3 RS has stability programs and traction control. Just go to the Porsche website and check. "To contribute towards safety and driving stability within the dynamic range, the 911 GT3 and new 911 GT3 RS are fitted for the first time with Porsche Stability Management (PSM). In addition to the anti-lock braking system (ABS), it includes two automatic control systems: Stability Control (SC) and Traction Control
DigTheStig 1 year ago
If you ask me (and none of you did that but still...), i would say that the difference between these two cars, are the bits of flesh standing behind the steering wheel... the Porsche driver is clearly the more experienced one here, you can see that the GTR guy doesn't even know where the braking points are... same driver, same track, same conditions, no doubt GTR would win the day. Here thow... hat's off to the Porsche driver...

Oh please you cannot compare the GT-R35 to a 911RS. The GT-R crushes the 911RS in all respects. The Germans have got to step it up!

you must be an idiot... GT3 RS is NA with 2-wheel drive and GTR is twin turbo with 4-wheel drive.. meaning, GTR is for FAGGOTS!
dakaraabbccdd 1 year ago
@aetechllc LMFAO, the gt3 would make the gtr look like a toy with equally skilled drivers. the Germans have stepped it up by building a drivers car not a car that drives itself.

@aetechllc LMFAO, the GT3 would make the GTR look like a toy with equally skilled drivers, the Germans have stepped it up by building a drivers car, not a car that drives itself. not to mention that was a 996, good luck against the new 2010 997 GT3RS

Take away the computer aids in the GTR and it's just another Nissan. The GTR will never be a driver's car as the RS.
SPHINX144 1 year ago
Strange what everyone see here. GT-R's are much faster than GT3's on the track, really any track, assuming the same driver skill. Here the GT3 drive was MUCH better than the GT-R driver. Without traffic the GT3 was LONG GONE.

I dont get it, the GTR is supposed to be faster than the Carrera GT on the nurburgring but here it cant even keep up with a 996 GT3 rs around the ring, and only able to pass it on the straight away..lol! Something doesnt add up.
osirisvb 1 year ago
@osirisvb
the 996 GT3 RS, "in the hands" of walter rohrl, managed to make a lap on the ring in 7.43..., that's damn impressive !, and further testimony of what that car is capable; on a good mountain road, despite of what most of GT-R fanboys think, a GT3(RS or no RS) will smoke a GT-R !(because : it's more nimble, more agile, it's smaller, lighter, provides u feedback of what the wheels r doing and many-many other things like that)
eugenux 1 year ago
@eugenux
it's simply a much better car !
eugenux 1 year ago
@eugenux agreed, this is why when Nissan published a time of 7:27 or w/e bogus time they did for the GTR around the Nurburing Porsche immediately challenged them, but Nissan did not accept the challenge. I knew the GTRs lap time posted by Nissan was a fake, they used a ringer GTR aka Modified GTR to post the super fast lap times, but in the real world the GTR will have problems with a 996 GT3 RS as indicated by this video.
osirisvb 1 year ago
@osirisvb i couldn't agree any better, the nurnburgring time of the gtr is nothing but a fake laptime,no way can the car make 7:26 stock.the video here shows who the KING really is. PORSCHE walks on you anyday of the year, and this is not even the GT2 rs,it would blow your nissan out of the outer hemisphere had it been the RS!
kay19833 1 year ago
you cant beat the GTR for the price...unless you buy a $1000 civic and put $50.0000.....GTR RULES.

zinngrae 1 year ago 3
Yes, but it's because the GT3 RS is a focused track car than the GT-R. The GT-R is a road car you can use on the track. Not to mention that the RS is lighter because it's stripped out. You should've tested the GT3 RS against the Spec V GT-R which is most likely the equivalent of the RS.

elms350z 1 year ago
in the hands of a skilled driver the porsche is faster, and the GTR's brakes would fade sooner than the 911's. good vid- but the guy in the GT3 was definately being cautious- maybe because it was wet?
ZACHdaSWIMMA 1 year ago 3
It looks like the GT-R left a bit of speed on the table in some parts, but still a great piece of driving. It just shows how well the driver of the 911 was doing. Great show from both cars!
