Got this as an early birthday present a few days ago from gamestop. I tested it for twenty minutes to see if it was working properly, and I used Juri as a test character. I only trained with her, though. But I think she's a good character to start with. What do you think?

@GripKing4Life Juri is not the easiest character to start off with but she will definitely pay off big time if you put the hours in and not break your controller when you get fisted(Believe you me, I know). Try her out though, she's awesome and there are loads of tutorials to check out online as well.

To say this Juri player is more skilled just because he's flashier is just ridulous. I guess you would say anybody that uses Zangief sucks because all they do is throw. I'm not even a SF player, but i've watched alot of vids. This may be somewhat of a generalized statement, but from what i've seen every character played at a high level is played very similar. That means that another pro is gonna spam like crazy with Ryu, or Daigo would look similar to this Juri some practice.

You guys throwing off on daigo's style are all too concerned with what's aesthetically pleasing. I realize that it's boring to watch a guy throw 50 fireballs in one match, but it works. Daigo would be just as good with any other character if he had focused all of his time on them. He's a really good guile player from what i've seen. I guarantee you that this Juri player would play as Ryu the exact same way, because that's just the proper way to do it.

@86Raxor I believe they're playing on Xbox. If you watch at 7:45, one of Daigo's friends connects to Xbox Live, and the "friend online" notification pops up in the bottom middle of the screen. I personally recommend Xbox, though I own both systems and both are legit gaming machines. I just like the overall "feel" of the 360, from the dashboard to the online functionality. PS3 kinda feels like a muscle car that looks sleek, but then you drive it and find out it's uncomfortable and bland.

He uses light punches and light kicks often because they are safe pokes that can lead into hit-confirmable combos. He builds his Super Meter so he can buffer his Super into crouching medium kick instead of just randomly shooting out EX Fireballs. Also Daigo doesn't random Ultra which can be easily avoided and punished. Instead he waits for an opportunity Shoryuken EX-Focus cancel into it instead.

I've seen matches where he just spams fireballs all game. Not much skill there but he won that match. Don't blame him on it, its just SF4 game engine isn't as spectacular as say SF3. You can't really do as much, and the combos that are really cool to use are also usually impractical to use in matches.

Spamming is the process of repeating specials or combos without taking into account your opponent's situation and location on the field, an example being Hadouken. It would be spamming if the player used these abilities in inappropiate circumstances, spamming is usually associated with 'cheapness' this is true however a decent player should be able to counter-act the opponent, if not you weren't skilled enough to defeat your opponent's weak strategy.

Zoning is a tactic used in mid-range to long-range, it's intent is to out prioritize your opponent moves by manipulating the space between you and your opponent therefore giving you the tactical advanatage to respond to any incoming attack and thefore punish. Meaning it is a defensive manuver as you are waiting for your opponent to attack and will then respond. (I.e) P1 jumps towards P2 he reacts with Shoryuken.

@HomestarRunner20X6 Zoning can be fairly difficult however as the player needs to understand both the proporties of their opponents attacks and their own, in order to find the best countermeasure. The player zoning needs both good reflexes and to be able to predict the enemy player's next attack.
