I've dealt with literally thousands of D&D players... I've not heard anything like that. In fact, it's always been quite the opposite in that they're wanting women to play.
@pokinoiombra Technically, sky isn't every color imaginable but it has no colour at all, just reflected light waves from the atmosphere with the most amount of shorter waves in our visible range which people with normal eyesight percieve as colour blue. Actually even most colourblind people still see blue.
And D&D is also only percievable by humans so what are you exactly trying to prove?
you can role-play yourself in the kitchen making me a sandwitch. you roll a 3 on the d20 CRITICAL FAILURE. Now get your ass back to the real kitchen and make me a real sandwitch wench!!!!!!
@Meresortsitar A lady DM probably killed off his Level 1 Wizard after he made a severe tactical blunder with some orcs, that's all.
(Hint to Wizard players: Don't be like that guy. Let the Fighters handle the melee with the orcs. Your job is to stay in the back and fling Magic Missiles and darts. Know your role.)
I will Agree Girls shouldnt play D&D. But then again no one should there are so many better alternatives. Ditch the gateway drug, come truly into the way of role play.
@Agent1W Mainly I like playing Chaotic Neutral. You can do good things or Bad..yet everyone expects it when it happens though they never know when or what you may do. Only that it will be Chaotic :)
But depending on the character, I make them a background and profile. It depends on how they are brought up on which alignment I will choose. And lawful evil is so much fun to play, depending on who's law you follow. But also example town law= bend it to the point you swear it breaks .
@kittyof9tails That's the thing. If you play with opposite-scale players in actual sessions, they might go and do things that you wouldn't be comfortable with. At worst, there will be heated arguments in-session. If the party leader decides to violently push down a little girl asking for a little bit of food(an example of an Evil action) then I would get angry about it.
@Agent1W thats half the fun though. Personally I had a drow wizard, someone asked her for some gold she said "It will cost you." they said ok. She gave them a knife and wanted a decent amount of flesh from there arm. They did and she gave them the gold. And feed the flesh to a monster later. Most of the player did hate her. And she went off alone a lot. But they come crying to her for help because she was the smartest. Now she is the baddest fucker in the valley power wise. But lives alone.
@Agent1W she hates people though. And I played her how she was and made. If I didnt she wouldnt be her. There were times she went complete different ways then the party and made it out first or alive..with the better end of the deal. After that though people hate her..they followed. I also had a thief that had attention deficit disorder. Your charries are ppl and should be treated as such everyone is different. Why shouldn't it apply to D&D? plus it would get boring if everyone is good or bad.
@kittyof9tails I'm a bit more biased on Chaos than Law. The Law does have it uses but its reach is oftentimes shortened. There are instances where the Law cannot always serve everyone. To do good for goodness' sake is something that everyone can benefit from, which is why my most favorite alignment is Neutral Good.
I do good by you because I like to be done good by others, i.e. the Golden Rule philosophy.
Obviously, the polar opposite is Neutral Evil, and guys like that are reeaaaal bad.
@Agent1W Ok say the law in town is no murder, that would mean they could go & start something....say the towns person was slaughtering a pig. My lawful evil one can bitch at them because it "offends" them due to how their ethnics are. In most towns ethnics can not be argued. They get into an argument. Town person hits them, they kill them and leave them for the pig to eat. That is not against the law. It was self defense, & they had no reason to help the person. For they attacked &insulted them
@Agent1W or setting something on fire, most of the time it doesnt say not to. Also Chaotic good is fun. I had one that burned down an orphanage full of children. The plague had spread & they all had it. There for they did good stopping it so no one else would suffer from it. Also they set fire to a town, to help bring the forest back into growth. To much towns not enough wildlife. It was a good thing to do.
@kittyof9tails I'm thinking that a Chaotic Evil person would give the children freedom to roam the streets, enticing them to spread the plague across the entire town or city. "You know, let's get everyone sick. This town frickin' sucks," says the Chaotic Evil man. In contrast, the Lawful Good man would never dream of burning a house full of children down, but try and find a better cure.
Setting fire to a town is Chaotic, and your example is that of the Elves. Certainly they don't want to KILL.
Whoa tough noogies for that dude huh? Hmm...That's what i'm gonna name my wizard character. He will be a half robot, half Dominican Wizard from the future sent back in time to warn the world of how his peoples will rule the land in the year 2012...
God I miss the game! I used to O.D on D&D all day every day in high school. Now my only satisfaction comes from watching others play and talk about it on youtube...
Just the comment alone shows that he has the mind of a little boy who probably still builds clubhouses out of appliance boxes and writes NO GURLZ ALLOWWED! in crayon over the doorflap. Don't let it burn you up. If you and your players are having a good time, then that's all that matters. I'm a DM, and have a mom and daughter who both play very well in my campaign and have a great time. Just because I personally have never met a female DM, doesn't mean they don't, can't, or shouldn't! Have fun!
What man wants every D&D session to be a grinding saucagefest?
I have two groups as a DM: One with close friends (with one girl) who want more story than battles. The girl in the group isn't very combat oriented, but she makes up for that with other skills.
The second one is full of guy gamers. They're the most greedy, disrespectful bunch I've ever played with. Really, who says girls can't play?
@TheDeadandsilent that's surprising lol. I'm a total nerd, but of course it's a game and anyone 10 and up can play. i say that cuz there is some cognitive understanding involved.
@thetanplzer exactly :) you cant say a game is just for guys, i see alot of girls play it :) its not like we live YEARS ago, its 2011, if people dont like it, well they can go **** themself ^^
I'm sort of an "all all at level all" in training myself. I'm trying to develop my own world and stuff but first I need to get ahold of Pathfinder since that's what I plan on using for the "blueprint" of my world.
I never understood why people say that girls can't play/run games. It's ridiculous. Some of the best games I've ran or played in have had several female participants. That being said, I've had more female players in White Wolf games than in any other RPG. Just an observation, not any sort of judgment. Have a good one.
@thetanplzer White Wolf is the company that put out Vampire: the Masquerade, and many others. Most of their games are modern monster games, but there are exceptions. They have recently put out World of Darkness which is the core rules for the new incarnations of their old gaming books. Vampire: the Requiem, Werewolf: the Forsaken, Mage: The Awakening, Hunter: the Vigil, etc. You basically buy the World of Darkness book, and get the type of monster in another book. You might like it.
@Samwise7RPG I barely have time for dnd never mind spending more moola to get an unfamiliar system.I might keep it in mind tho, I almost played pathfinder once lol
@thetanplzer There are plenty of free RPGs out there too for those short on cash. Pathfinder is basically D&D 3.5 plus a few tweaks and changes. Anyway, have a good one.
I've dealt with literally thousands of D&D players... I've not heard anything like that. In fact, it's always been quite the opposite in that they're wanting women to play.

@Meresortsitar Technically the sky is every color imaginable. It's only blue because that's what's perceivable to us.

@Meresortsitar But since it's reflected light waves, it does constitute every color imaginable because white light is composed of just that.
And I'm not trying to prove anything. Carry on, sir, and well played. :)
