Bethesda - Worst company in gaming history. A million hits on any of their games crashing or freezing and they never release patches that fix it. From Morrowind to FO3 the crashes have actually increased. They can take Skyrim and shove it up their non-supportive asses.

u cnt copy the data for start_ffix because there is already a data folder in fallout 3 directory

Stop downloading rips they DONT WORK, you have to downlod the iso and use a key gen, it's pretty much the same thing as using the actual game disc as if you bought it, works all the time forr me and trust I have experence and have downloaded hundreds of games for xbox, xbox 360, ps2 psp, pc, ds and many more and I never have successfully gotten a rip to work without any bugs. Download the ISO!!!!!

@MrKillPro This video shows an actual original DVD install of the game not working. Hence downloading the ISO would result in same problem The solution at the time was to install the Rip & Fix which did work. I will agree with you in most cases that Rips can be a bit dubious but this is the exception to that rule. Anyway this vid is about 2 years out of date now anyway as the game has apparently (I don't play this game anymore) been patched

@vrchris Yeah I agree, I just wanted to point out to those that want to download this game, that they shouldnt download a rip from skulptura and save thier time by just downloading the iso and patch to 1.7, I've tried rips plenty of times, and although it installs, it just doesnt work!!!

@djkotebe Normally I would agree with you, but Fallout 3 is hands down the buggiest game ive ever played on a computer. It took me about 2 weeks to figure out how to run it on my computer without the game crashing. I actually Had to change part of the script to be able to play it. No publicly released game should have this many issues with Game Crashing and if it does I say more power to you to download it if it works for you.

Hey guys can somone help me with my problem?

Everytime I launch the game it'll take me to the "please stand by" screen ( .12) and then it'll randomly take me back to my desktop without an error message and also closing the game. Ive got good enough specs as the game checks my settings and says I can run on high and Ive also uninstalled reinstalled a million times. Ive also tried disabiling ffshow for both audio n video but it doesnt seem to do the trick.

man the finalfix takes sooo fucking long on my comp. first time i tried it i left it on for 1st day, overnight, and by 6 o clock evening on the second night i was STILL only at 60-70%!

I dont know if this is my flagging amd 3200 chip or what but i didnt expect it to be THAT long.

I downloaded k-lite drivers and basically went to the Bethesda folder, deselected 'read-all' and said 'ok' and now I can play for anywhere from 20mins - 2hrs, with around 40 mins before crash being normal. This is up from the usual 2-5 mins.

As I understand it what skullptura has done is illegal( ie bypassed the copy protection) but as a user who owns the original game it is perfectly legal to own a copy of your own software.

Also Skullptura doesn't sell his copy of the game or distribute it as it is downloaded from torrents

Skullptura made a mistake during the recompression process :S I recommend you to download the RELOADED version, that "Final Fix-thing wont prevent the random crashes. The same goes for Left4Dead; I had to download the MAVERIC recompression.

Skullptura is awesome but he (or she :P) is a human, and people commit mistakes. Try to imagine how hard should be to recompress a 7.1Gb game in just 2.5Gb That is why skullptura is the best.

I meet the requirements fine...But when I start a new game all I see is the opening video and then the program stops responding...I used Utorrent and skullptura's fallout 3 download.
