I've had good success converting other small stick and tissue models to RC, but the Spitfire design doesn't scale well to smaller sizes because of the elliptic wing and low Reynolds Number issues. A thinner wingtip airfoil, more washout, and more nose weight would all help.
Love the model look great ! Far too good for gravity to have it pleasure.
I made a small Sea Fury rubber powered, which should never have been flown it payed the supreme price for my two mins of pleasure. ;0(

Spitfires didn't have propellers, they had "airscrews" jejeje...
Very nice prop, how you made it ?
The ol' saying : "A propeller with and airplane behind it " comes to mind...
Contras next...?

I saw a few threads on these conversions and wondered how well it flew...well, now I know. Thanks for sharing.

@smorrismlbco why 5 blades in prop..?? make it more thrust from thi engine then 3 or 4 blades..? most of RC planes have 2 blades..
VictorSeedorsky 1 year ago
It is a scale model of a real spitfire that used a 5 blade propeller.
