@BorisKnoT one of the three principles of the electrics says that you can't have 2 AC sources working in parallel, which means when you turn on the engine generators the APU power source automatically turns off and by that what you said isn't valid anymore.the normal procedure is to turn on every IDG source when it's available:ie:immediately after engine number 2 is on.also, for this video, it would be normal for the Electric hyd pump number 2 to be off, only the A engine hyd pump. on
@rockonmario Ohhh, You mean it's not valid for NG series? Because the guy who told me flies on 737-300 analog cockpit. Not sure how old that plane is but yeah it must be a difference then.
@BorisKnoT absolutely not.you see, the NG series allows engines to be started up even with the both auto packs on(it works but most of the companies don't allow it to increase equipment lifespan).the classic series(such as 300) can't be started by using bleed air for air conditioning simultaneously.
@mynameisokan Right click on the rightmost DU (display unit), and select shown parameters on the small buttons left to the autobrake selector switch (just right to the fuel flow reset). Hope this helps. Additional setup in the PMDG menu on the sim main interface.
@pvpfiish Wilco makes a good 737 Classic, which is better than the PMDG IMO. Classics work a little differently than the NG though. Ariane also makes a NG 737 for FSX, but it is RIDICULOUSLY expensive (100 pounds!)
I'm glad you have enjoyed the presentation. 737NG Demo: I navigated to the PMDG website but unfortunately I didn't find a demo or a trial version. You can buy the software, google for PMDG and select FS2004 from the products menu. Note that the 737NG is not compatible with FSX.
Yeah, it is, I am checking it everytime and does not work, now I am experiencing another problem, the Vref is too high no matter the weight, I am departing with 162.2GW and when I reach the TOD the FMC says, Flaps 40 Vref 205kts, I can't see why.
Would be nice to see you flying a PMDG 747, I am looking forward to do this tutorial, maybe we can do it together...
Phew, it looks like some of your files are corrupted for sure! I have very little knowledge on the 747 therefore I don't think I'll do that unless someone pays me three months off work :)
when you had push back your taxi lines and the ground looked really realistic, how did you get it like that? are on the settings simply set to high? thanks
Perhaps you haven't set your generators from APU BUS to GEN BUS on the overhead panel.
In the real world, the engine generators provide power to the autothrottle system, which is why in an engine failure situation, you will always, ALWAYS, disengage the autothrottle first before doing anything else.
I was just verifying, you started the engines while at the gate. I am not fully sure about other airlines, but for all I know, for the ground crews' safty, you shouldn't do that. I have only flown on Delta and Southwest Airlines and both start the engines on the push back! I hope this didn't seem mean.
Thank you for your work! Would it be possible to maka an ENGINE-SHUT-DOWN Tutorial as well? I would like to see all procedures from touchdown ... taxi ... parking ... what to do while the passengers get off and the baggage is taken out ... till the moment where I can leave the plane "dark and cold".
Plleeeaasseeee ... could you do something like that? =)
Thank you for your comment, it's my pleasure. The engine shutdown tutorial is a very good idea. I was planning some other tutorials like takeoff, approach etc. but sadly enough my computer specs are way too low for recording the live action regarding the PMDG. I would have about 10 FPS...I simply cannot land in conditions like these. External filming is again something I don't want to do. I will consider your idea as it seems to be quite manageable. My only problem is TIME.
Tanks i figure whats the problem! tanks again for you help and by the quick reply and great videos! on more thing have you find any working WXR radar for 737 ng?
And one important thing: it is well known that 'professinal' flight sim experience is a very huge advantage if you wish to become a real pilot (personally I don't want to become an AP, but it doesn't intervene in this question). But I know examples. Many.
Also understand that many cannot fly for real because they A: have a career already in motion or B: (like me) have a medical condition that prohibits them from flying commercially.
Awesome videos man! You know sooo much! Can you giev me a link to where I can get your checklist? Because this is soo nice it looks like a real world checklist, thanks and great video!
Thank you very much. Yes, these are real world procedures. Please note that real world checklists and normal procedures vary by airline operator. For a general implementation of real world procedures, visit W*W*W*DOT*B737*DOT*ORG*DOT*UK
Yes, they have. Look, just seach google for 'Boeing 737 checklist', select the Boeing technical site, click on NGs and there you go: New Normal Procedures. Select checklists. It is important that some airline operators have slightly different checklists!
I presume this is mentioned at the final app. phrase. This is a common final app. technique. Aim to 5 degrees nose up pitch to select e.g. flaps 1 on clean configuration, while your speed in controlled by thrust. And use 2.5 degrees nose up pitch for flaps 30.
Because these are procedures and not checklists. Not the same thing. These are procedures to prepare the aircraft, set the instruments etc. Checklists are to verify that each instrument is configured properly.
Those checklists on the Boeing technical site are real world checklists. I don't know other sources. Mine is from a real world airline, but it's strongly against the law to forward it to you, I'm sorry.
The following checklists are used: Preflight checklist, before start checklist, after start checklist (also called before taxi checklist), before takeoff checklist, after takeoff checklist, descent checklist, approach checklist (sometimes merged), landing checklist, shutdown checklist and secure checklist.
Sir, what you are looking for, is not a checklist but a normal procedure (about 25-40 pages). If you are not satisfied with the one found in one of the PMDG subfolders, I'm afraid I cannot give you other sources.
Right click on the center DU (Display Unit) to make the lower DU appear. Use to small buttons to display ENG or SYS data as req (visible at 0:32). Left click on the lower DU to make it disappear. Check the PMDG menus also, select Over and Under option, not Side by Side.
Some companies prefer side-by-side display to ease transition into the NextGen aircraft from earlier versions of the 737. Reduces type-rating training, even though a 737-200 pilot can fly a 700 easily.
Also, some companies like it if you leave continuous ignition OFF until you reach the runway, as it is rarely needed in dry, standard taxi procedures.
If you're going to the details then you need to turn off apu bleed, then apu generator and then apu switch off :P Heard it from a pilot :)
Nice video.

If you follow the normal procedures, you will not encounter problems like these. :) Check the hydraulic pumps first, then both generators.

In a real airplane it seems the parts pilots really live for is the takeoff & landing. YOu gotta admit this is the most exciting bit about flying
fayik123 3 years ago
That's true, but you gotta admit that without preparations, no flight can take place.

No, not at all. In Europe, starting the engines at the gate is quite common, but may vary from airport to airport, country to country.

Thx for the reply!! Come to think of it, Southwest only flys in the US.
Sorry,

one question i can do all but cant't open start valve or find it can you help? tnks

Briefly the start valve opens as you position the engine start switch to GND. So there's nothing to search for, it's just a 'compartment'. Regards.
