  • What a fuckin bad ass! That man did not even have a high school education! We can do what we want if we put our minds to it! Depend on no one and demand of yourself only the best!

  • All I can say is amazing ... amazing what man can do , is just we move toward money and there is so much to develop in many other fields where man can help others but the bggets motivation is money or war....that part is truly a shame

  • What a trooper Mrs. Melville must be! I admire her courage as much as Mike's.

  • oh my god!

  • wow imagine being that first guy yo fly it you must sit there thinking I am about to fly a never flown craft into space with no ejector seat what a man.

  • It's interesting to think that size doesn't matter in regards to speed in a vacum.

The size of that craft moving at the speed of a bullit.

If you take the amount of mass per volume.

Most of the size of the craft is empty space. Compress the matter down to solid and it might only be a foot or two cube.

The importaint thing is the energy required to accelerate the amount of matter.

You could have a volume the size of a blimp but wheight is a few pounds/ not much energy.

    FANTASTICLY AWESOME!!!!!

  • Someone stuck a Ron Paul bumper sticker on the back of that ship. Cool.

  • @2242bzo

    which part of the video?

  • @treboomboom haha! Sorry...I was only kidding about the Ron Paul bumper sticker! hahahahaha Take care...........

  • Mike has "The Right Stuff"!

  • At :15, the world gets a glimpse of Aeronautilus Nerdicus Engineerius, don't be hating me because this guy fits the stereotype perfectly. Look at that hair, yikes.....

  • that's some serious balls flying that without that chaneau thing, that p.o.s.!!

  • Mad Respect for this guy...

  • nasa go home.

  • Man, I have a huge amount of respect for that test pilot, you can see that he know what he is doing is incredibly dangerous, but he does it anyway, because someone has to.

  • fastest plane in the world woohoo!!!!

  • whats the feather?

  • its when the wings swing up to 90 degrees, is slows the craft, so that is can enter back into the atmosphere.

  • Thanks!

  • it's the way the space ship's entering the atmosphere with the wings in another position to come down like a feather...

  • epic

  • Spaceship2's planned to be another subobital spacecraft. Does anybody know if Scaled Composites had already annouced a project for a fully-orbital one?

  • if spaceship 2 works they are planning to make spaceship 3 which is going to be ORBITAL spaceplane

  • @bemanos12345 @eMobster They have planned a 3 Tier system. 1 is suborbital, 2 is orbital and 3 is beyond... Each Tier past one is obviously dependant on the success of the Tier before it.

  • nice!!!!

  • It sounds like its made on the cheap.

  • not at all. it just has to be very very light.

  • Why did they do it anyway ?? Please tell me ?? Guessing to show that anybody can go to space ?

  • space tourism

  • they were contestants in one of the x prizes and they won so they got $10 Million

  • LOL whats a feather?

  • what they mean by that is they turn the spacship into like a badminton birdie or shuttlecock, they make it float down like a feather.

  • I wonder how spaceship 2 does

  • waer in the world did u get that fodeg

  • Amazing.... never been more proud for watching

  • Wow that takes some guts. Amazing stuff

  • 41 miles, just by the border of space, 62.5 miles, still pretty good, wonder if there was an award for runner up, and who was it?

  • History being made

  • This kind of gets you pumped up!

Making it to space without spending tens of millions, water on Mars....whats next? E.T.? That sure would be nice.

  • Makes you proud to be a human!

  • Great video! I saw this before and its interesting as hell.

  • how many enterprises do space ships?

  • Space...the final frontier! To boldly go where no man has gone before!

This ranks, in importance to what the Wright Brothers accomplished at Kill Devil Hills in 1903!

Go Mike, Brian and to the rest of the team...good luck!

My God...what guts! And guts is enough!

  • There are just a few elected giants in human history and this guy is one of them.

  • Brave men.

  • There are a couple of seats against the back wall. They have head rests and you can see their reflections in the dark but glossy wall paint.

  • yeh, whos in the back seat? photo edit or a hitch hiker?

  • It's a empty helmet.

  • @jeromeyward that is from the flight deck of the white knight...

  • @jeromeyward A woman escaping the kitchen.

  • @jeromeyward are you sure. i know its moving around because on the gravity, but it looks like someone is moving around in it

  • @HondoXP The cockpit with TWO guys in it is the White Knight carrier plane. Both aircraft have the same cockpit so pilots can get used to flying the SS-1 in a more normal plane by flying the White Knight first (if you can call the WK normal that is).

The guy in the back looks like he has the job of pulling the heavy handle to unhook the SS-1 from the White Knight , even though I think he is also a qualified pilot in his own right.

  • @HondoXP the lift vehicle is confused with the spaceship at times.

  • @HondoXP

    Stowaway

  • respect to all involved!

  • I think your right pooperscooper71

  • Who is that in the back seat area at 5:19? I thought SpaceShipOne had only a pilot.

  • Im guessing it is the mother ship It has the same window pattern.

  • Ah could be, I thought it was just the discovery channel being lame and cutting in footage from other flights.

  • X-Prize winner Burt Rutan now working with Virgin to get space flight tickets. What's fake about it?

  • very real dude!

  • stop smoking dude... it's not helping your grasp on this reality.

  • Bobbysmokes - Fake? Really??

I see only two choices to explain the likes of you: 1) smoked some weed covered in a dangerous pesticide and you became brain-damaged as a result, or 2) You were simply born stupid and you're fated to stay stupid for the rest of your life. Which one is it?

  • Waaaa haaa haaa haaa. Bwaa haa haa.

  • tells us how its fake.

  • What an uneducated idiot.

  • Only retards make this sort of comment.

  • Sound is a bit delayed, but thanks for the vid

  • I've had that problem with videowave. It plays fine on my computer before it's uploaded. Don't know what's up with it.
