  • love the video & that accent lol. refreshing

  • at 1:00 you say, "... and he's going to launch pawn storm against castled king."

you make chess sound so epic! thank you for your commentaries, mato =]

  • Thanks for the great video!

  • Fischer has to be the greatest chess player of all times. I hope they will make a statue of Fischer and place it in the Lincoln or Washington memorial area as a tribute to a great American and a great world citizen.

  • Wow 30,000 views!... Bobby as popular as ever!

  • You sound so cool when you say check mate....

  • great game to observe, thanks for sharing. Sometimes you sound a little bit like Arnie Schwarz, which in turn only adds to the value of these videos.

  • @jonnylawrence010 That is a great compliment. Thank you.Can you please make the same comment on My Channel

  • I JUST DONT GET IT....HOW CAN GRANDMASTERS PLAY SO BADLY IN SOME OF THESE VIDEOS.......i play better moves and i still get beat frequently on yahoo chess...wtf?

  • @TheMiwaro Some players before the game think they will lose so they play worse than usually

  • @TheMiwaro the reason you think so is called 'hindsight bias' in psychology or Monday morning quarterbacking in sports lingo.

  • losing the queen for 2 rooks is fair

i don't see any reason to resign

btw, i played similar games many time, i happy to see that it played also in higher levels

  • 1:45 ...Ne5 is so much better for black.

  • really y didn't black take on H5 with his knight?

  • @death8dealer 10...NXh5 11.Bxg7KXg7 12.Be2+- White is planing g4 and Qh6 with crashing attack

  • At 1:50 why doesn't black take h5 with knight?

  • @R1nz0R 10...NXh5 11.Bxg7KXg7 12.Be2+- White is planing g4 and Qh6 with crashing attack

  • @MatoJelic you should really explain this during your videos and not in the comments, because why would I watch your videos instead of exploring game databases. Some quick tips are always good, for example on Qxd4 pawn at some moment in the opening, for example. There should be O-O-O with bxc7 threatening things, but a quick tip would do better. Otherwise, interesting game, thank you.

  • Amazing

  • white castles and then if black plays c5, white can play Be5 which attacks black's bishop and black's rook on h8. If black plays Nf6 then white can play Nge2 and white has a slightly better position.

  • 6..Bxd4?? 7.Castling! ..c5 8.Nb5 followed by 9.c3 and goodbye, bishop,

  • Comment removed

  • Black lost with g6 as that weakens the pawn structure around the king.

  • Fischer-Addison and Fischer-Seidman also crushes against the Scandinavian.

  • never mind, im wrong

  • scandinavian defence sux..

  • What a quick and vicious attack!!

  • Wow! Bobby makes it look so easy. He was an incredible players. The best ever!

  • Both capablanca AND alekhine were saying back in 1927 how the amateurs are catching up with the masters due to increasing knowledge of the openings. Fischer also said that chess is "dead" due to opening memorisation. For me this is the reason why kasparov is the best of all time. He's had to squeeze out wins from practically nothing gained from the opening. And with each win his opponents would study that particular opening and be" ready" for gary when next they met. Yet they would still lose!!

  • @TEDOVSKY

...ksparov had the entire chess federation sponsoring him from the time he was young.and they were known cheaters...who did fischer have??..nobody...when he defeated spassky in 72, boris had 35 grandmasters with him to analyze every move....fischer basically learned chess on his own with much practice and study....when he defeated spassky the night before he said he wanted to go bowling while spassky and his team analyzed the inevitable...it was over and fischer already knew it...

  • What about at 4:07 black knight to G4?

  • @MGKandCUDI queen moves up and checkmate

  • at 0:50 why does black not play Bxd4?

  • @iliginjaili

    Bd5 Bc7 Bc3 Qd8 mate

    Bd5 Bc7 Qc7 Qd5 Nf6 0-0-0 and white has better position

  • @iliginjaili My question exactly, I guess At the position Fritz will take it...

  • @iliginjaili @rsupreeth

White can castle pinning the queen.

  • @iliginjaili 6 ... Bxd4 7. 0-0-0 Nc6 8. Bb5 Bd7 9. Nf3 Bg7 10. Rhe1 and white has a very strong centre attack.

  • @iliginjaili I personally think it was over thought. The only way for the Scandinavian defense to work is to have the bishop. So he started relying on the defense and not playing the game for what it was.

  • @iliginjaili If black plays Bxd4, 0-0-0, Nc6, Bb5, Bd7, Nd5, e5, Nf3 and the black is dead

  • @iliginjaili i THINK, i might be wrong, but after black takes the pawn, white could play Be3, and if black takes the bishop, then white can exchange queens, then take back the bishop. this would be better for white because black's king is in the center. if black doesnt take, he loses the bishop, and if he moves it, then his king is stuck in the middle again. again, correct me if im wrong people on youtube

  • @iliginjaili it is the same if Qxd4 0-0-0 Qxd2 Rxd2 and now white is geting back the pawn in c7 plus attack

  • @iliginjaili yeah, i saw that too! I guess he really wanted to use that Bishop for defense... lol

  • @iliginjaili i believe he does not Bxd4 because after 0-0-0 the bishop is pinned down to the queen. i can see ways out of it, but i think thats why

  • @iliginjaili Just castle long and the bishop is in a deadly pin.

  • Comment removed

  • @iliginjaili 'cas Fischer would castle then have his rock and queen pinning the bishop to the queen. If you retreat your bishop, his queen takes your queen checkmate guarded by the rock. If you guard the bishop with a pawn on either side, he'd move his bishop to d5 and fork your rock and bishop. This is a very weak move for black since it puts a lot of pressure on your king and queen.

  • @iliginjaili Nb5

  • @iliginjaili after Bxd4? 0-0-0 and the bishop is pinned to the queen and will be munched shortly

  • @iliginjaili Fisher was a very aggressive player. Bxd4 would waste time instead of developing and Fisher would develop his pieces even quicker than played. I think Robatsch didn't want to take the gambit because he feared Fischer's offensive possibilities.

  • @iliginjaili maybe if white q takes black qyueen, then black couldnt castle. maybe also bc7 would follow instead leaving bishop unprotected and white q on amazing diagonal

  • @iliginjaili Then he would loose a major defender for his king side after he castled.

  • @iliginjaili this one has been answered with castle queen side, black is going to loose this bishop

  • @iliginjaili Because if he take then Fisher Castles, then the rook is aligned with queen, either winning the bishop, or checkmating

  • Black was good, he was on top of world's chess grandmasters. But agaisnt Fischer who can read 9 next moves variation, it was hopeless..

  • Blacks should not enter their Queen as early

Pawn in g6 is not good. Blacks are not developed so they can't afford to play risky

For Whites, I think bishop in h6 is good, but the black castling is very bad : bishop in g7 is blocked

    Blacks were not good.

  • not really understand, sorry, an amateur

  • why didn't black take the D pawn with bishop?

  • 10...Nxh5 is not much better.

    If 10...Nxh5 then11.Be2 Nf6 12.BXg7 KXg7 13Qh6+ followed by 14Ne4 +-

  • @MatoJelic nerd

  • i love how you go through the gameplay. thanks so much for the uploads :)
