@EvanescentSoul31 I am Marco´s fan in both Nightwish and Tarot. It is a positive thing for a symphonic metal band like NW to have both a female and male vocalist, they are both needed to create the versatile sound. Some songs like Meadows of heaven sound better with Anette. Master passion greed definately suits Marco better. The contrast of a male and female voice in duets is enjoyable. When I want to hear more of Marco´s voice there is Tarot.

Looking back the comeback they did you can't but raise your hat. Wasn't easy fired a great singer and try to still keep the Nightwish alive. Anette do a great jod. So did Tarja. But there are things that are greater than one single unit. That is the passion with Tuomas do the music. One of a kind band now and then..long live Nightwish!

@inlandnavigator it's not so much that tarja is better than anette. it's that her operatic singing style is a more dominant sound so tuomas(the genius mastermind of nightwish) wrote the instrumental parts to be more of an accompaniment to tarja's voice. anette's style is less dominant so tuomas wrote the songs' instrumentals to work more with anette's less dominant voice's style. it's difficult to say who is better because both are better than me so i can't really make the judgement call.

For all the clarity.. I am not a Anette hater at all. Only Tarja has a more special voice than Anette has. I think Anette is better at this number becouse this number needs a low, soft voice.
Unless, Anette is not as good as tarja turunen at the old numbers, simple, becouse the numbers are written for Tarja.
Tarja is more special than Anette, but Anette is not bad, and she becomes better.
Nightwish wasn't become so very known in the world without tarja, but Anette is not bad as all!

I say NO! She doesn't have to be like Tarja (Who is a great singer, btw). I think Nightwish couldn't have chosen a better "new" (it's not new anymore, I think) singer then her! And I completely love this song!!!

Both are excelent, in they styles.

@inlandnavigator it's not so much that tarja is better than anette. it's that her operatic singing style is a more dominant sound so tuomas(the genius mastermind of nightwish) wrote the instrumental parts to be more of an accompaniment to tarja's voice. anette's style is less dominant so tuomas wrote the songs' instrumentals to work more with anette's less dominant voice's style. it's difficult to say who is better because both are better than me so i can't really make the judgement call.
