  • bilateral implants occure but are rare to be precise. I'm not sure why but I think its due to the cost envolved and/or age of the recipiant.

I am a CI recipiant in my left ear and yes you are right, determining sound direction is very difficult. But you know what my friend? I REALLY DO NOT CARE ONE DERN BIT ABOUT THAT!

I can hear again. Its not perfec mind you ( close) and worlds away from being crappy. You think I care what direction a whipporwhil is singing from?

  • Nice! Great video!

    I have a question:

Do they usually perform cochlear implants on BOTH ears, or just ONE ear? because if one ear only, then patient would still lack bilateral hearing and cannot determine sound source. They should find a way to restore bilateral hearing with minimum risk.

  • @basheersubei usually one ear, and then later on the second ear if it's really beneficial and wanted.

  • So, they are able to hear after the surgery? or better?

  • thats really cool!
