Sea trout or salmon? - possibly sea trout given straight line of tail (salmon more forked) but hey that clip is just gives amazing insight to salmonids in marine environment. Appears to be on its own but well fed and cracking dorsal fin! Underwaterireland - well done

@underwaterireland The location is a bit difficult (Salmon Fishery) but leave it with me. RTE were ready to run with it but evening News was too congested so missed out, supposed to be still on the cards for 2011. What about filming a shoal of salmon entering an estuary from the sea, that would be something! Check out National Geographic July 2003 shoot in Killary Harbour

@underwaterireland I will be fishing the cork and kerry coast all through the winter for bass etc., then i start again in january 17th for salmon and trout from february 15th. If you are down this part of the country let me know and we can meet up for a chat.

Thanks. Canon HF S10. That area (Kerry) is fantastic, but last summer I didn't get a chance to catch good conditions for filming. Will wait for the next season.

Is the HF S10 a waterproof cam, or do you have some kind of kit installed? What was wrong with the conditions last summer, too cold? bad visibility/sight underwater?

I have underwater housing for this camera. Nothing was really wrong last summer - a typical Irish summer with good beginning and stormy rest of the summer. I couldnt make HD videos when weather was good because Ive got housing at the end of August when visibility was wrecked by storms + ocean, where visibility still was o.k. wasnt quiet. We still had few nice & quiet days but I was working full time + overtime and I couldn't get days off when I needed them.

I asked my ex-employer to support me end to give me few days for filming but they care about environment only when they have profit from their care. Thats how & why I missed last summer. Now Im not working at the moment and if things go well for me (Im preparing for the big exposition right now) maybe Ill be able next year to produce much more really nice HD uw videos not for youtube only but on DVD as well. Also we plan to organize snorkelling trips to the different places in Ireland.
