  • Love that cluck cluck sound of the seconds......timeless!!

  • Betty White is awesome!

  • $25,000 Pyramid returned in 1988 making CBS viwers happy again, of course, they stilll had $100,000 version.

  • Who knew Betty White was good at anything except being old?

  • Betty White!!! The queen of all game shows!!!

  • I was on $25,000 pyramid!.. but they never aired my episode because.. I tweeked betty whites nipple.

  • Another one of Dick Clark's "YES!" reactions and the "Happy Dancing Trilons"... WELL PLAYED!

  • 2:07, the saucy old biddy is hugging him low.

  • The 2 stars Betty White & David Graf. I'll bet almost everybody would have never guessed that David would be dead one by now.

  • Betty was good at this game.

  • @calalilygirl She was good on ALL of the game shows she appeared on!

  • By popular demand, $25,000 Pyramid returned for another 13 weeks.

  • Johnny Gilbert, BTW turns 86 in July.

  • I thought "Blackout" was a cool game, but replacing a classic like "Pyramid" was just asking for trouble.

  • It wasn't Blackout - it was Wipeout with Peter Tomarken hosting. Why did they ever take Pyramid off the air - that was one of the most questionable decisions ever.

  • @scoobydoo11111 You're wrong. When Pyramid returned in April of 1988, it was a replacement for the short-lived Blackout, a 13-week show hosted by Bob Goen. Blackout was the only game show ever to replace and be replaced by the same show.

  • @jhillst ---Seconded. "Wipeout" was syndicated....Possibly that one market played Wipeout instead........I read in a book about daytime TV by Wesley Hyatt that the ABC game show "Blankety Blanks" replaced "Brady Bunch" reruns, but "Bunch" came back & replaced "Blanks" again. (I thought that the Pyramid/Blackout was the only occurrence of this.) The "Blackout" idea wasn't a bad one, but the bonus game had nothing to do with the main game.

  • Well Johnny Gilbert is a bit over-excited during his opening introduction, isn't he? :)

  • Did he said that girl is BJ?

  • That guy is hot!

  • @Dan1971740 -"This is my roommate Paul" LOL--I guess that's what you had to call them back in 88...

  • To TheDA1983's point, I wonder how much money Betty White helped "her" contestants win during her long career in game shows. She is so smart!

  • Betty White was phenomenal in game shows. She and Vicki Lawrence were absolutely the best celebrities on game shows. I also like Adrienne Barbeau, Shelley Smith, Henry Polic II, Mary Cadorette and Teresa Ganzel as celebrity players.

  • Is it true that Pyramid was just meant for a three month return until Family Feud was ready?

  • Wait, so after the $100,000 pyramid was created, another $25,000 Pyramid got created too?

  • My "roommate" Paul? Uh-huh...yeah.

  • lol... Were the chicks the beards too?

  • It doesn't get much better than Betty White.

  • before they show dave graf whose the celebrity they show in the winners circle

  • Paul Kreppel

  • Another game show remake in NY? I would put it where it was before at CBS Television City in Hollywood.

  • @nextbarker Actually before Pyramid was in LA, the original Pyramids ($10k and $20k) were in NY.

  • @nextbarker "The $10,000 Pyramid," "The $20,000 Pyramid," and the original version of "The $25,000 Pyramid" were all born in New York and thrived there. This version of "The $25,000 Pyramid" is the remake, so where the Pyramid really belongs is the Ed Sulklivan Theater or the CBS Broadcast Center (the Elysée Theater no longer exists) with those exciting and explosive New York audiences to go with contestants from all different moulds.

  • Good way to start off the return, I believe before this win, he won a trip to LONDON in the Mystery 7.

  • betty white was never on star trek

  • Press Your Luck and The $25,000 Pyramid don't go together!!! That's why the latter replaced the former. God bless the Pyramid!

  • The Pyramid Returns Tomorrow!

  • I have never cared that much for david graf

  • He probably wouldn't have cared much for you.

RIP, David "My mom gave it to me!" Graf.

  • What's the male contestant's name with Betty White in the Winner's Circle?

  • Betty White has proven, through many game shows she has been on, is a great player.

  • That early Game Show graphic is, cool - but not used anymore. Might be a keeper in and of itself.

  • a hottie! and so is the contestant :)

  • I worship Betty White. Smart. Great actress. And made lots of game show contestants a lot richer.

I used to get the biggest thrill when someone won that show.

  • OMG, at 00:19, I think that's Martha Hackett (Seska from Voyager)!

  • ive watched star trek and i dont recognize that woman.

  • Ah, yes, the day when the show returned to the CBS lineup, "Blacking Out" Bob Goen's first network show.

  • Betty was a great player! Why did GSN remove Pyramid and classic episodes of the Price Is Right? Now they show a handful of classics, and alot of crap.

  • It's understandable why they removed Pyramid. All they were showing was nothing but the same 1986-1987 episodes of the $100K version over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Trust me, the $100K version is not the only version of Pyramid worth watching.

  • The reason for removing "TPIR" was because the head of CBS was afraid it would affect the ratings of new episodes of the show.

  • That might be the stupidest reason ever! You would think that it wouldn't have any bearing on the ratings. If anything, people will look at Drew Carey and decide whether they want to continue watching or not.

  • CBS has veto power over replays of the show on cable.

  • Now CBS is talking about another $25,000 Pyramid revival. Michael Davies is producing it, and it could be held in New York.

  • Nice to be back? The show was cancelled?

  • well let's just say the $25,000 Pyramid "took a break". CBS replaced it with a game show called "Blackout" when it was canned in december 1987. then pyramid returned for 13 weeks starting april 1988. both this pyramid and the $100,000 pyramid (syn. version) were ultimately canned in summer '88.

  • Yeah Betty was the queen of several game shows, smart lady

  • yes, but the $100,000 Pyramid went til September.

  • I think this was the last version of this show to air on network television. It last aired on CBS July 1, 1988. It was replaced the following Monday by "Family Feud" with Ray Combs.

  • Are the celebrities at the start of the intro Paul Kreppel and David Graf?

  • and what better partner to have than betty white

  • I definitely agree with you. Betty zero in on the clues. Shelly Smith, Ilene Graf, and her were the best female celebriites. Are you going to have more winner circle wins from both pyramids here soon?

  • Um, Ilene's last name has an extra f. But yeah, I agree with you on that.

  • Love the the GSN Logo in the begining, I hope GSN bring this back.

  • Me too. And I also hope they get the other years, as well. Remember, GSN only showed the first season (1982-1983), and the last several months (1987-1988); they've never shown anything in between 1983-1987 at all.
