"Jesus promised to come back, did he? Then where is he? Why, so far back as anyone can remember, everything has remained exactly the same since the world was first created."
Exist209, read the following verses on your own...
Sorry, my comment came from an anti gay video put out by Warren where he claims every religion for five thousand years say marriage is between ONE woman and one man. NOT TRUE and he must know this. Why Lie Rick?
The OT is full of marriages with several wives and concubines. Christians PRACTICE one man and one woman but Solami and other people STILL have more than one wife. You make the rest of us Christians look like fanatics when you lie to prove a point. You should apologise!
bostonpaul09 ~ Boy, are you wacky or what! Hurts your feelings by calling you wacky? Your tough, arn't you? You sound tough! I'm calling you on your suggestion that you are a Christian. And I'm guessing you are gay. And by the way, tell me how exactly is it that that you miss the point Warren is making? See, we're dumb here. We never heard of David and his 800+ wives for instance. That's how you figure it, right?
No I am not gay. I am a married Baptist with four boys. I am all for marriage being between a man and a woman. I saw a comment where Rick Warren stated that EVERY religion for five thousand years defines marriage as being between ONE man and ONE woman. Not true. Abraham, King David, and Solomon are some examples. These religions DO define marriage as between a "man and a woman" RW should stick 100% to the facts of an otherwise valid point to avoid discrediting that point.May I ask, who is WE?
To be as credible as possible you have to stick to facts in order not to give the opposition ammo to use against you. No, I am not wacky, I am INFORMED, I read the Bible and know that Judaism and other religions allowed more than one wife no matter how you feel about that does not change the facts!
I for one do not wish to see gay couples adopting children. "I" am not your opposition.
God's truth is sufficient. No need to add false info to it. Can we agree?
Muslums, Jews, Buddists, Japanese, Chinese, and Arabs all had multiple wives. As far as I know, all of these religions say that marriage is between a MAN and a WOMAN, but not one man and ONE woman, that is simply not true. Infact, Christians started that on their own. DAVID "A man after God's own Heart" had hundreds of wives. I guess this guy has never read the Old Testament
WaitHuhSayWhat: "The goal of the Celebrate Recovery program is not simply to recover from past sins and hurts. The goal is to become Christlike in our character. To have experienced a Biblically balanced approach to repentance and recovery."
/ Rick Warren
Pastor John Baker is founder of Celebrate Recovery and is headquartered at Saddleback Church. CR is now the largest Christian recovery organization in the United States.
Rick... everyone doesn't need "recovery" or your view of "purpose". BUT what everyone does need is to receive forgiveness of sins through faith on Jesus Christ because if they don't they will spend eternity in hell.
WaitHuhSayWhat~ You know how sound bites are! The above video is obviously a 'moment'. The meeting you see in the video was part of 3 day-seminars. There was a great deal of laying out the invite to accept Christ. Most of these people at this meeting have accepted Christ. They come from Celebration Recovery bible studies across the country. Check out the link "About This Video" (to the right, of the video screen) for the church's standing on the meaning of Christ.
I noticed that some 'youtubers' are so against Rick Warren, that they will "block" anything anyone says that is positive. They want to strangle him into a 100%-negative on their sites. Then there's people who hate Billy Graham, others the Pope, Mother Theresa, and anything remotely Christian.
Rs plan is a one world church.Thats the antichrist. The bible is clear there will not be peace untill the new kingdom. He denies the rapture,he denies that AIDS is judgement. He said in PDL that everyone would be a the great white throne judgement.Thats for unbelievers. The guy is full of unbiblical doctrine.
michellebelle71: I hate to find you so weary and disillusioned by all the wrong doing going on around you. I see life is very difficult for you in how to place scripture against the realities of this sinful world. You must suffer a great deal seeing the injustice and cruel actions and judgment of God falling on so many people thruout the world ...and your need to make sure God's judgment is sure and complete. Wow! What a Christian you are!
Keep up the good work. But unless Christ undertakes fully in your idealistic endeavors, you will always meet your sinful self, time and again as 'the end'! You will also always meet your sinful self when Christ undertakes your endeavors, but it will never, never be the end.
Aids is judgement? You poor thing! Wake up! How about cancer? How about depression? How about all the fine people in Hiroshima who had families and loved ones and no desire for war? How about the children in Iraq? How about Dafur, where millions are dying? Or Rwanda where 1 million were slaughtered? How about polio in the last century? Huh?
re AIDS is judgement (1): It is quite the opposite of judgment. HIV/AIDS is the result of every dimension of evil manifested in one issue. Sure, we can acknowledge that sexual promiscuity is a major cause of infection and mankind does reap what we sow.
re AIDS is judgement (2): however, there are just far too many people (especially women, children and even the unborn) who have become infected or affected by the disease through no fault of their own for their suffering to be regarded in any sense as God's direct judgment on them.
re AIDS is judgement (3): Please also consider that there are many people who have become infected by doing what is pleasing God -- caring for the sick and tending their wounds, both medical workers and family caregivers.
Your "one world church" comment is totally slanderous and way off base. From what I've heard from Rick he's doing what any good man of God should do, call the church to mission. Remember, Jesus prayed, "your Kingdom come on earth." No, there will never be worldwide peace but as Christians we must work for the return of creation to God's plan.
The Kingdom of God (or "of Heaven") is both now and future. The concept is seen all through Jesus' teaching, especially in the parables. Remember, the first task God gave mankind was stewardship of His creation. Jesus' last command to us was to go and make disciples of all nations. These tasks are all a responsibility we hold as Jesus builds His Kingdom. He reigns now and will reign over a new heaven and earth when he returns. Our work will not bring a perfect earth, but we still must work.
michellebelle71: You ever think you are making a total nuisance of yourself? Honestly! You seem to have good intentions, but.. put a little solid intelligence behind your use of scriptures. Otherwise you'll sound like that woman who bugged Paul with all her rantings. (Acts 16, vs 17-18)
You know what the other ded give away is that hese a heretic.Theres way too many secular people who accept him.The bible is clear that true christians wont be accepted in the world.Hes accepted because he tickles their ears and give them fluffy messages.2 Tim 4:3
I suspect that you havent a clue as to what a pharicee is.Look it up.Please show me in the bible where its says its okay to mix paganism with scripture as rick does.
If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words...." John 14:23-24
It's interesting that all thru Jesus' ministry, it was the Pharasees that continued to cast stones at all kinds of people. The sad thing is they were the ones who were so adamant about doctrinal purity that didn't seem to get it. It was the same yesterday, today and tomorrow ... there will always be religious terrorist who continue to judge and condemn others...
I'm not saying that everything he says and does is wrong.Hes bang on on many points. However he is still mixing new age philosophies with the bible.People arent accusing him of being a man of compromise for something to do.Theres good reason.
Ken Blanchard sits on the New Age/mystical bandwagon. What is a so called Christian leader doing in any kind of alliance with a man who so obviously promotes and believes in mantra meditation, yoga and who has no trouble borrowing from Buddhism.
ANSWER MY QUESTIONS.!YOU WONT BECAUSE YOU CANT.You have nothing to justify Ricks use of humanism and paganism. You can dance around the bush all you want.
I think the better question would be how many RW followers are in hell because they accepted heresy and tossed the word.
I have heard him.I have read the multitude of books.I have watched him. There is still nothing anywhere that justifys his alliances with new agers and the use of new age secular philosophy. The bible says its wrong, unless you deny the authority of the word, its still wrong.
I find it rather fascinating that you refuse to answer any question regarding Rick mixing psychology and new age ideas with the bible.Could it be because there is no scripture to justify such heresy.Yes Jesus hung out with sinners,BUT,he didnt become one.

End of November, Saddleback Church will host an AIDS conference for 3 days.
NOTE: The top three candidates for President of the US for the Republican party, and the top 3 Presidential candidates for the Democratic party, will be present at this conference.
Legalism is the notion that a sinner can, by his own efforts, or by the power of the Holy Spirit in his life, do some work to obtain or retain his salvation.
kathyseim35: I see you haven't been around. THAT IS NOT what legalism is. In fact, it's just plain wrong. And you better re-read what you posted. You may want to re-phrase the Holy Spirit part.
I have read PDL 3 times.I have the CR program, with the exception of a few scriptures there is nothing that separates it from AA.Even then many scriptures are twisted to fit unbiblical concepts.Search the words "Purpose driven resistors".Scarry.
CR (Celebrate Recovery) based on the 12 step-program is common knowledge. 99% of the people in CR come from every imaginable problem and issue in life, and many are NON-Christians. Of those who are, many have fallen into sin because no one taught them "GRACE". They taught them legalism. By the way, George Geftakys NEVER ran anything similar to AA or CR!
Quite frankly I dont give a rats ass who George is. Ah grace, the lukewarm churches licence to sin more.I have the CR program, its crap. The 12 steps came from Bill wilson while in a trance. The occult and RW calls the steps christian.Give me a break.
Saddleback Church has more than Four Thousand (4,000+) home bible studies meeting weekly. People from BIOLA (Bible Institute of Los Angeles), Moody Bible Institute of Chicago, members of various Christian and Roman Catholic Churches thruout the southland meet together. You want serious scriptural studies?... you will find it here! Rick Warren's platform express-trains you into a love for deep scriptural studies. But it's up to the individual to grab that opportunity.
So youre saying that what he puts out to the public isnt whats in his church. He only puts out psychology and unbiblical concepts out to the public and a big congregation is somehow evidence of correct doctrine.Ricks association with new agers should be over looked.
No,but there is a whole lot of former Roman Catholics there. Unfortunately, your comment cannot be satisfactorily discussed in length in this type of posting.
I believe George ran a cult similar to AA,which is almost identical to CR.
Following the bible is legalism.?That is typically the chant of the luke warm church.Get people into church even if it means compromising the word, the hallmark of the lukewarm church.
How about RW's peace plan, how about his "the devil doesnt bug me and I dont bug the devil mentality. How about his 12 steps. How about his personality profiling and making new comers sign a contract. How about his kicking "purpose driven resistors" out of his church. How about his use of psychology,AA,psychiactric terms.
ITS ALL UNBIBLICAL CRAP.YOU HAVE NOTHING TO JUSTIFY IT,NO SCRIPTURE TO BACK IT UP,NOTHING TO PROVE THAT THIS GUY IS ANYTHING BUT A WOLF IN SHEEPS CLOTHING.
My wife became a member of Saddleback. So I asked her about this "contract" thing you stressed. She say you sign a "commitment" NOT a contract... a "commitment" which states that you will strive to be a good Christian in your daily walk with the Lord.
Now I MUST get off to work. Meanwhile, may I suggest you be careful with what you think you know about something. Research it better.
kathyseim35: You familiar with a fellow named George Geftakys? Just asking!
Your on a personal rant...so I'll back off a little 'cause I have to get out the door to work in 10 minutes.
You'll may draw people to the Lord, but you WILL drive them into 'legalism' as well big time! Geftakys had an assembly in Canada (your place)..and you sound like THAT assembly.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in al things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. 2 Tim 4:4,5
Don't badger people with verses and they'll shy away.
That's not what your here to do. Scripture says if all the words Christ spoke were written down, there would not be enough books in the world to hold them all. Christ knew how to touch people into the depth of their souls. He talked a lot...on their level.
Jabbing someone in the eye with pieces of fire and brimstone isn't going to draw anyone to the Lord.
Well that would be in line with RW right.Wean people off the bible .ONCE AGAIN.Please show me where Jesus used psychology,12 steps and psychiatry to deliver people.
kathyselm35: It's almost midnight here and I have to get up early for work tomorrow. so I'm getting bleary-eyed. That second sentence in my last post should read:
1 Corinthians 10:21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.
1 Jn 2:15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. Col 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception
kathyseim35: Oh come on! Anyone can start throwing out Bible passages. Big deal! I can throw the same ones at you. So what?
When you present verses to someone, you just gotta make sure it proves something other than you just happen to have a Bible nearby, or you memorized a few handy verses.
It is crap. Its mixing secular philosophies with the word of God.Its just plain wrong. The fathers of psychology and psychiatry were occultists.Wake up and smell the paganism.
You sound somewhere between a Scientologist and Jehovah Witness. Mother Teresa had her critics as well. And as for Christ, good grief, you really missed out!! He ate and drink with secular sinners. He befriended a Samaritan women with multiple affairs. His disciples broke wheat for food on the Sabbath. w0w! You would have had one heck of good time pointing out those things back then... wouldn't you now!
Well duh! He hung out with them he didnt BECOME one of them AND he certainly didnt compromise himself or his word. Please show me one place in the word that justifys mixing new age philosophies with the word. Please show me where Jesus used personality profiling.
Duh! I said you sound somewhere between a Scientologist and a Jehovah Witness. Am I close? And whilst answering that one, where do you recon Rick Warren is implementing New Age philosophies, that is after you give me YOUR definition of New Age so we're both on the same page.
michellebelle71: Gee, what a theologian you are! I recon you'd be a great speaker to this particular group of people Rick Warren is addressing. Am I right? You would know how to...talk to people in this type of 'Recovery' who have been beat down so much by the devil in their life that they all need to take another perspective of what it means when Christ is their shield.
Please show me ONE place in the bible where Jesus sent people to recovery groups.!He didnt he delivered them on the spot. This is why RW is a jezebel.Deliverence ministries are being replaced by this unbiblcal crap.
Delievered them on the spot? Oh, really. What happened with YOU?
And how about the five thousand? That's plus wife and kids. Likely over ten thousand at the loaves and fish event. Jesus was out preaching to them. What happened there? Everyone suddenly got saved on the spot? Also, how do you look at people who use street-words like 'c**p' while trying to defend Christ?
You want to witness to people and the word crap bothers you.Perhaps you had better hide your bible, its contains the word Piss, bastard,There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys. The bible has plenty.
michellebelle71: Give it up! You didn't even answer my question in the previous post. You originally asked a question. I answered it. Now you ignore the whole post.
Answer the question.Show where in the bible its says its okay to mix new age doctrine with the bible like what Rick does.Show us where Jesus uses psychologists,12 steps and psychiatrists to heal people.
The devil doesnt bug me and i dont bug the devil....thats because the devil doesnt bother with what he already owns.

You want serious scriptural studies?... you will find it here! Rick Warren's platform express-trains you into a love for deep scriptural studies. But it's up to the individual to grab that opportunity.

So youre saying that what he puts out to the public isnt whats in his church. He only puts out psychology and unbiblical concepts out to the public and a big congregation is somehow evidence of correct doctrine.Ricks association with new agers should be over looked.
kathyseim35 4 years ago
Why is Saddleback associating with mary worshippers.???
kathyseim35 4 years ago
No,but there is a whole lot of former Roman Catholics there. Unfortunately, your comment cannot be satisfactorily discussed in length in this type of posting.

I believe George ran a cult similar to AA,which is almost identical to CR.
Following the bible is legalism.?That is typically the chant of the luke warm church.Get people into church even if it means compromising the word, the hallmark of the lukewarm church.
kathyseim35 4 years ago
You have a poor idea of what legalism is.
Are you familiar with George first hand or what you read online?

How about RW's peace plan, how about his "the devil doesnt bug me and I dont bug the devil mentality. How about his 12 steps. How about his personality profiling and making new comers sign a contract. How about his kicking "purpose driven resistors" out of his church. How about his use of psychology,AA,psychiactric terms.
ITS ALL UNBIBLICAL CRAP.YOU HAVE NOTHING TO JUSTIFY IT,NO SCRIPTURE TO BACK IT UP,NOTHING TO PROVE THAT THIS GUY IS ANYTHING BUT A WOLF IN SHEEPS CLOTHING.

kathyseim35:
My wife became a member of Saddleback. So I asked her about this "contract" thing you stressed. She say you sign a "commitment" NOT a contract... a "commitment" which states that you will strive to be a good Christian in your daily walk with the Lord.
Now I MUST get off to work. Meanwhile, may I suggest you be careful with what you think you know about something. Research it better.
netcinema 4 years ago
Nobody should have to sign anything to be a member of a church.I believe that contract is somewhere on the web.

kathyseim35: You familiar with a fellow named George Geftakys?

2 Tim 4:4,5

kathyselm35:
Bit of advice to your young online ministry:
Don't badger people with verses and they'll shy away.
That's not what your here to do. Scripture says if all the words Christ spoke were written down, there would not be enough books in the world to hold them all. Christ knew how to touch people into the depth of their souls. He talked a lot...on their level.
Jabbing someone in the eye with pieces of fire and brimstone isn't going to draw anyone to the Lord.
netcinema 4 years ago
Well that would be in line with RW right.Wean people off the bible .ONCE AGAIN.Please show me where Jesus used psychology,12 steps and psychiatry to deliver people.

kathyselm35: It's almost midnight here and I have to get up early for work tomorrow. so I'm getting bleary-eyed. That second sentence in my last post should read:
"Badger people with verses and they'll shy away."

Col 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception
kathyseim35 4 years ago
kathyseim35: Oh come on! Anyone can start throwing out Bible passages. Big deal! I can throw the same ones at you. So what?
When you present verses to someone, you just gotta make sure it proves something other than you just happen to have a Bible nearby, or you memorized a few handy verses.
netcinema 4 years ago
It is crap. Its mixing secular philosophies with the word of God.Its just plain wrong. The fathers of psychology and psychiatry were occultists.Wake up and smell the paganism.
kathyseim35 4 years ago
kathyselm35:
You sound somewhere between a Scientologist and Jehovah Witness. Mother Teresa had her critics as well. And as for Christ, good grief, you really missed out!! He ate and drink with secular sinners. He befriended a Samaritan women with multiple affairs. His disciples broke wheat for food on the Sabbath. w0w! You would have had one heck of good time pointing out those things back then... wouldn't you now!
netcinema 4 years ago
Well duh! He hung out with them he didnt BECOME one of them AND he certainly didnt compromise himself or his word. Please show me one place in the word that justifys mixing new age philosophies with the word. Please show me where Jesus used personality profiling.
kathyseim35 4 years ago
Duh! I said you sound somewhere between a Scientologist and a Jehovah Witness. Am I close? And whilst answering that one, where do you recon Rick Warren is implementing New Age philosophies, that is after you give me YOUR definition of New Age so we're both on the same page.
netcinema 4 years ago
CR isnt based on psychology.???Nice LIE.Its PERMEATED WITH PSYCHOLOGY.
michellebelle71 4 years ago
michellebelle71: Gee, what a theologian you are! I recon you'd be a great speaker to this particular group of people Rick Warren is addressing. Am I right? You would know how to...talk to people in this type of 'Recovery' who have been beat down so much by the devil in their life that they all need to take another perspective of what it means when Christ is their shield.
netcinema 4 years ago
Please show me ONE place in the bible where Jesus sent people to recovery groups.!He didnt he delivered them on the spot. This is why RW is a jezebel.Deliverence ministries are being replaced by this unbiblcal crap.
michellebelle71 4 years ago
michellebelle71:
Delievered them on the spot? Oh, really. What happened with YOU?
And how about the five thousand? That's plus wife and kids. Likely over ten thousand at the loaves and fish event. Jesus was out preaching to them. What happened there? Everyone suddenly got saved on the spot? Also, how do you look at people who use street-words like 'c**p' while trying to defend Christ?
netcinema 4 years ago
You want to witness to people and the word crap bothers you.Perhaps you had better hide your bible, its contains the word Piss, bastard,There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys. The bible has plenty.
GET A GRIP.!
kathyseim35 4 years ago
michellebelle71: Give it up! You didn't even answer my question in the previous post. You originally asked a question. I answered it. Now you ignore the whole post.
netcinema 4 years ago
Answer the question.Show where in the bible its says its okay to mix new age doctrine with the bible like what Rick does.Show us where Jesus uses psychologists,12 steps and psychiatrists to heal people.
kathyseim35 4 years ago
The devil doesnt even know his name.???RW contradicting scripture AGAIN.
The devil doesnt bug me and I dont bug the devil.THATS BECAUSE THE DEVIL DOESNT BOTHER WITH WHAT HE ALREADY OWNS.
What a bunch of unbiblical crap. The guy twists scripture to fit unbiblical principles.
Hes a jezebel.
