  • cool

  • thank you so much for your video-lesson! Please, check out the IreneConti acoustic version of this song, she is amazing and she is my sister :$....I love her xD

    Thanks!!!

  • thanks for the simplified lesson. i have been trying to learn this song from old footage and tabs but there are many chord changes that seem rushed. good job

  • Nice work. Isn't there an Eminor in that middle 8 though?

  • Good job and nice job of explaining what's going on in this great tune! Kudos!

  • Reeel Nice. You got the motown groove. Great feel on the guitar. Played strong.

  • I loved your video :) I dunno the strum pattern tho :(

  • Dude I love your stuff!

Thanks for taking the time to do this!

  • Brilliant, nice simple tune. Great for the beginners, and good inspiration for us veterans! I love this song but had never thought about doing it acoustic before. And a quick note to those asking for more detail on picking, rhythm etc.... WORK IT OUT! Guitar playing is all about putting your personal stamp on it, so just start playing what YOU think sounds best, otherwise you'll never learn your own style. PEACE

  • Another great lesson.

Took me a while to pick up the notes your picking during the C and D of the intro but got them now.

Please do some more soul stuff when you get a chance.

  • @kingshearer2 what are they? caause im having a hard time too

  • @2012mtcsteph5

Hello, The way I play it is - after you strum the 'C' chord keep the chord formation and pluck the d-string followed by the g-string, then a slight pause followed by the g-string again and then b-string and finally the e-string immediately change to the D chord and strum that. hope this helps. Cheers Bri

  • @kingshearer2 thanks alot

  • you dont even sing it right lol

  • Maybe you'll raise some some karma points for the Scottish fitba' team ..need all the help they can get..cheers

  • Good clear explanations of what's going on..many thanks

  • cool style

cuz that's the only thing i'm not doing right

by the way i loved your version of this song :)

  • yur really gud! thanks :)

  • you are playin some extra strings here and there that i cant figure out, can you explain? maybe the strum pattern too?

  • Nice overall, but really could use some strumming indications.

  • Much appreciated! Thanx. What a great song, one of my all time fave's, and what's also so great is that for beginning guitarists they can learn it in a few minutes with the three chords.

    Magnificent!

  • Sounds great, mate! Thanks for showing us the runs between chords.

Your guitar looks just like mine! A Taylor - what model is yours?

  • you cant sing lol

  • Yeah I know - but God loves a tryer! lol

  • lol Infact after a second listen i dont think its a fact you can't sing i just think your way off on the melody at the beginning the rest of its ok mate.

I still favourite it tho so i can learn the tune.

  • to scots like us thats a high standard lol

  • Aye- no bad at all.

  • they are the same g c d......at 2:24 he restarts at d and so on...its no A that hes playin..its easly mistaken with an A simply becuz of the way he arranges his fingering on a d chord....people do it differently ....

  • Thank you so much, you're great! Always loved to be able to play this song.

But one question: which chords are you playing at 2:24, just after A? I cannot figure them out.

  • Great lesson and pretty good singing, too. Thanks. That guitar sounds mighty jangley, though. Tons of super bright (almost tinny) treble and no bass to speak of at all. Is that characteristic of Taylors or did you just put new strings on or is it me?

  • Must be the speakers on your PC!!

  • I have a Taylor just like that, and mine doesn't sound as tinney. I think its the recording. Taylors are a little brighter through the midrange, . . .

The best sounding guitar I've heard for bass is my dad's 1954 Martin D-18. No kidding, man, over 50 years old, and it just gets better sounding all the time. Wonderful bass.

  • It's an 814ce and I'm really happy with it. It gives a bright tone but also the bass is there when you want it. Martins for me are just to bassey throughout the whole range. Also I prefer the Taylor fretboard. My fingers feel much more comfortable on it. However, guitars are a personal thing and each to their own. I always find it amazing how you get attached to a guitar.

  • Mahalo.

  • Another great lesson. Thanks.

  • I read an interview with Smokey once where he said his guitar player at the time with the Miracles wrote this song. He came up with those off beat chord changes, even though the chord changes were quite common, he changed the rhythm and Smokey just put lyrics to it. Pretty good. If writing great songs was always that easy LOL!

  • that was great!

  • C Chord is B string 1st fret,Dstring 2nd fret,A string 3rd fret. G chord is,A string 2nd fret, E string 3rd fret and other E 3rd fret. D chord is g string 2nd fret,e string 2nd fret and b string 3rd fret.

  • I can't see your fingers from here. Could someone say what fingering/frets C,G,and D are on? Seems so simple and I bet this could never get old.

  • Easiest chords on earth dude, if you've got a geetar buy a song book or look it up on youtube G, C, D? jeez!

  • Thanks lots Mate - love the guitar !

  • cheers from the island of samoa - awesome mate, and thanks for the postings. your awesome
