I think they made a huge progress with this song (and with their new album). OK, they doesn't sound that 'hard' anymore, but the musical layers you discover on the new album are stunning and beautiful... There is just less 8-bit and less Kap Bambino in their sound. It has become more fragile and @JonTerp: Crystal Castles hasn't had this much soul in their music since Crystal Castles II and Celestica.
