thats nearly there, you need stun grenades for riot sheilds, they are A LOT quicker to throw otut, i use them on every class now. you dont have to have marathon either, you can use scavenger for more knives. plus another setup is scavenger-dangerclose-whatever then you use C4 to throw out and blow them up

PC version. You can lower the graphics in the console to not render the bullet dents. Also, money flies out during "payback" kills.

I tried this setup since day one, and I say, the results are plain to see here: Kills take a WHILE, and you almost always give the other team too many kills. The problem with the riot shield is that anyone with half a brain has figured out the several ways to get around it. Strafe-knifing, waiting until they sprint or move, Semtex on the shield, Grenade Launcher rounds behind them, RPG direct-hits, not to mention that being flanked gets you killed a lot. Half of these guys don't even notice you.

Stun grenades help get kills with this build, and it can be fun to play, I'll admit. However, you still have to move the shield out from in front of you to throw a grenade or the knife, and often you'll end up being shot in the ankles while trying to turn, or flanked from the side while chasing someone. To say nothing of how silly it feels to run into another guy with the same setup, only to have someone turn the corner and spray you both down with bullets from the side.

I've found, the best part about playing a Riot Shield loadout, is learning how to kill people who have it. Otherwise, your kill/death ratio will suffer (unless you're impossibly good with distance throwing-knife kills).

You're not supposed to go for kills with the riot shield. This weapon is best utilized defensively. Creating cover for your team and being the hammer of an offensive attack is how you use it. Using a blast shield is a must, because most people will try to blow you up. The only time you try to kill someone with the shield is when you know they'll die in one hit, or in a 1v1. But to win a 1v1, you have to be good at turning with the person or you'll get knifed every time.

I have lost my faith in this game's suspension of dis belief. any little clear plastic shield (polycarbonate lexan bullshit) that would be thick enough to shrug off automatic fire would be far too thick and heavy to carry around like it was a simple riot shield.

Actually no, it would not. newtons law states that every action has an equal and opposite reaction, for a shotgun's buck to cause that much kinetic impacting force it would have to also apply the same force to the shooter, breaking everybody's arm that's ever fired a shotgun.

It has zero armor penetration power, and bullet proof vest/gear have always been able to stop buck.

Explosions cause the player with the shield to animate a flinch, leaving them exposed. Stun grenades and flash effects are also not blocked by the shields. Semtex also stick to the shield for an instant kill. Further more, if you shoot the glass near their face, the user is effectively blind. These shield tactics aren't hard to beat, you just have to be a little creative.

If you keep the frag in front of your shield it will not kill you. If it slips under your shield or past you so that it gets to your back.

You can actually deflect frags. I hope I get a frag reflection kill on somebody. Closest I have came to that is when people stick me with a sextex so I just run straight at them lol.

I love having the 44. as my secondary. My favourite tactic is to sponge the whole of the persons clip with the sheild, then as the reload whip out the magnum and blow them away. Makes me laugh every time
