  • @jackz555 take the flushing ones if you can. They are better. And better for your skin as well. But for depression there is no real difference I think, except that you might have fun being flushed red for an hour or two. ;)

  • I suffer from a chronic depression and Intend to take Niacin.. is there a major difference between the regular Niacin and No flash Niacin? Thanks

  • Sorry but its proven that animal testing is basically meaningless for human uses. This is scientifically proven. If your going to prove this through monkeys I'm not going to believe you.

  • I literally watched this video 3 times. I'm surprised there isn't more views! What a brilliant & helpful vid. So happy you are spreading your knowledge on vitamins & food. With that said what about amino acids, vit d3, omega fatty acids & inositol? Could you do a vid on those? High five on cashews, my obsession & I will eat a handful with 85% cocoa and only weigh 118lbs. Healthy fats are good for the body. Thank you for spreading the word on true health!

  • @themoviebuff101 what kind of smoothies? i've made some Broccoli and Blueberry ones before, I'd like to see what else can help my depression

  • can you explain what you mean with "nutrition dependency" ?

  • @favoritesmoothies I think he just means that some patients need to take a large dose of the nutrient, continuously, because of the illness they have.

  • those niacin flushes are hardcore, the iching is fullon....didn't make a difference to my depression.

  • @SuperProwler2010 Getting niacin in the form of niacinamide is best to avoid that "niacin flush" of red cheeks and itchy skin. As an important side note, no B vitamin will work wonders by itself. The different B vitamins work together, in synergy, along with Essential Fatty Acids and amino acids to allow the human body to metabolize the macronutrients that we eat (protein, fat, carbohydrates / fiber) and to allow our cells to make glutathione, which is a powerful antioxidant.

  • @SuperProwler2010 So, knowing that about B vitamins, EFA and amino acids, it's important to consider that some people have genetic errors in folate metabolism which require them to compensate by getting higher amounts of specific vitamins, in raw food form AND supplemental. In my family though we have to treat depression by 1st addressing digestive malabsorption (my mother has Celiac Disease I have Fructose Malabsorption) or else we can't absorb all that we eat, = deficiencies.

  • Great information thanks!

  • Dr, Saul's duplicitous stand on animal research just succeeded in making ME depressed. LEAVE THE MONKEYS ALONE! You want to do your research into deficiency based depression, get HUMAN volunteers. Get yourself volunteers from the millions of prisoners in jail for non-violent crimes, in exchange for early parole, to participate in your studies, but DON'T torture monkeys for something they didn't do and which isn't designed to benefit them. Don't punish animals for ignorant human behaviors.

  • Can nutritional super organic foods and Chinese herbal adaptogenic herbs help cure depression and emotional mental/social anxiety?

  • @Sixthsense11 you ever heard of 5 htp its a natural amino acid that increases your serotonin level... and when your low on serotonin it gets you depressed its a chemical in which control your emotions and how you feel... now everybody's different but the best cure is withing yourself.. usually if your depressed theres a problem you might want to find what is it and a way to solution or to overcome it... but i do believe there has to be a cure for this as in taking something. this man is right

  • Search "Education" on YouTube (top video) for a look at our school systems, and also look up Jon Kabat-Zinn on Google Talks for some interesting new developments in our health system concerning meditation. If your into it.

  • Makes perfect sense though. I was in a foster home from 12 years old till 17 and I was very Depressed and was in a emotional and mental wreck. Now I know the reason for that was because I was underfed and Malnourished. I was put on Meds that didnt really help. So now I know ;)

  • Big Pharma and Doctors that get kickbacks FROM big Pharma, together bash people like Saul for the simple fact that neither can patent whole foods, vitamin, etc. No shock there. I shove whole (real) food down my throat 80% plus the time. Do I cheat? Sure I do. Very little. Take no drugs for the exception of an aspirin every once in a great while. Go to doctor every 18 mos. to get colon/prostate checks(I'm 53 yrs old). Tell me I have great "numbers". Any questions?

  • Sorry Saul...I think taking animals and making them depressed is absurd..your validity as a healer just went to the shitter. The animals are not ours to experiment on to further our own gains. You're a selfish, mal-adjusted human being to think such....not a custodian of the earth. Here's an anti-depressant..stop listening to your own drone!! I'd much rather have your grandmother depressed than sacrificing 100 monkeys!

  • @oneminuteworkout you're on crack.

  • @fiapop most intelligent.

  • @oneminuteworkout I hope that was a joke. I am a researcher. Would you rather us use live humans for experiments? This is not to enrage you, just to let you realize that you must test hypothesis with a model organism to see how they can and will affect humans.

  • does vitamin B3 help deal with adhd/add? please answer me

  • @DwightsiPod im sure it would...

  • @DwightsiPod Yes it does. My suggestion is to google it, and read as much info as you can.

  • one pharmacist didn't like the video! aww...

  • Andrew Saul is fantastic. So are Abram Hoffer and Russell Blaylock!

  • Nutrition was the answer to my depression, no doubt. Drugs WERE NOT.

  • @Colstonewall Thats wassup! So how is that coming for you now.... two months later?

  • @michealjohnedmondson Awesome bro, thanks for asking. Of course I've been on supplements & some whole foods for a few years now. Each day is better than the last, I kid you not. . .I've even got my dog on a supplements & real food (instead of dog food) for his heart problem (congestive heart failure). The vets are amazed at hos improvement. They told me there would be none, but they were wrong!

  • @Colstonewall Thats wassup!!! Hopefully two months down the road I will be where you are.

  • @michealjohnedmondson Yes I hope you will!!! If you need any help or advice, please feel free to ask me. One thing I know a lot about is nutrition & depression/anxiety, and what helps. Please don't hesitate to ask me any question. I'll gladly help you if I can. . .Remember Google is your friend. Information is power, and the more you know, the better off you'll be.

  • @Colstonewall thanks man!

  • Does it matter which type of niacin you take? I heard it only works with niacinamide / nicotinamide and not with regular niacin, is this true?

  • @CtrlAltDltYou is isn't true. Both forms work well for depression/anxiety. Niacin also works well for lowering cholesterol. And of course Abram Hoffer was using it to cure (put into remission) schizophrenia. . .The best thing you can do is Google both & teach yourself the differences.

  • I can't take niacin. Oh well.

  • I'm working on a documentary that shows how depression can be cured through masturbation therapy. Comes out this July.

  • @RiseMyChildren I'm doing Niacin and other vitamins but I will try your new therapy. It's nice to see someone take a hand in healing the sick. Will this effect my vision in anyway ?

  • @RiseMyChildren LOL. If THAT were true, I woulda been the happiest man alive!

  • You know, this guy, Abram Hoffer, Joan Mathews Larson and Russell Blaylock (all Md's, PH.D's or surgeons) are just stellar at this stuff. It's serious and people need to know that you can feel so much better and really love life again by taking some supplements, vitamins and cleaning up your eating. Just do it, what have you got to loose? Really.

  • Do you Gary Null? got any clues for those already addicted to benzodiazipines?

  • Brilliant. Absolutely delighted to find this video, it corroborates a heck of a lot of the information I have found through my own (amateur) research into eating to beat depression. Beyond that, look into Selenium and Magnesium as deficiencies that also have an impact on Depression. Likewise, Chromium.
