Ok, I have to ask. Is the R-62A the one with the half cab? cause you got a clear shot out of that front window. And is filming or video taping ok to do? I went there recently and was too chicken shit to do it.
Yes, the R62As are the ones with the half cabs. On the 7 line, you will always have a RFW going Flushing bound cause trains are 11 cars on that line. They want to fold down all full cabs to half cabs, so after that is done, you'll have a RFW in both directions. And filming and taking pics is perfectly fine to do on the MTA.
Well, here's the thing. Both R62 and R62A are composed of 5-car sets with full width cabs. However, the 7 line (which has R62A) has single car units with half-width cabs on the side. They use 6 of those with a 5-car set to make a full 11 car train. Thus, the Flushing-bound side of the train has an RFW, and the manhattan-bound doesn't.
