@TheRoamingGnome2 No offense intended to CandyChan321, but you have just been misinformed. An append is an improvement to a voice bank (though they also get a different box art). Hatsune's append has different tones (soft, dark, sweet, vivid, and light) along with being an improvement to the original product. I suggest taking a look at the difference between GUMI and her append as an example.

@SunflowerOfHappiness Appends are an improvement of the quality of the voice of a vocaloid. ^^ Miku has... I think 6 appends. They are different. The most well-known is "Dark" who is a darker and more mature version of Miku voice, there is "Sweet" too, who is... Sweet. There are "Solid", "Vivid", "Soft" and "Light". And "Core" too, who is a normal version of her voice (improved). Just look for "append hatsune miku" in Youtube. ^^
