@jos76e831 at the time i built it, about 1600, but that includes a 28" HD monitor that i didnt have yet and a few loose end items like wireless inernet car, a new key board and mouse...
I have seen quite a few builds and I have to say yours is one of the best. I really love that case you used is it the same size as a stereo receiver? Great build please post the specs on that case I haven't seen anything like it and I think it's great for stacking.
why are you all hating about his chooise of pc case? why do you even care? is his pc, with awesome specs that u are jealous on! btw i think ure pc is awesome, good work! :)
I'm actually surprised that a HD6950 would fit in that compact case. That gaming pc breaks the stereotype of PC with huge windowed cases with all kinds of lights inside. It is actually refreshing to see a gaming PC put in a HTPC (Home theatre PC) case.
Depends what you compare it with. Just think that good hardware deserves nice cases with good cable management and lots of fans, so dont feel offended.
Everyone keeps saying I need a new case. My computer runs at 32°C even under full gaming conditions... Each of my fans move 90cubic feet of air a minute. Trust me, ive done my homework...
Where did you buy the components and what was the total price? I have been debating on whether to go with AMD or Intel for my processor. AMD is cheaper but I'm not sure how much performance i would be losing.
that was awesome!!!!

@rockfordfosgate2 Stop being a dick, his build is fine for what he wants it to do.
Also, stop talking crap - you clearly don't have the build you specified.
The ASUS Rampage III is socket 1366 whereas Sandy Bridge is socket 1155, the Processor wouldn't even fit in the board.
Plus, 3.8Ghz is a crap overclock - maybe YOU will get a REAL professional computer someday that actually exists.
