Forgive me but i simply can not hear a hammer on in the album version at all and a lot of how to's are suggesting it. I dont believe its right. At least they simply do not use it on the studio version. I have a pretty well trained ear and just trying to understand why everyone plays it this way.
@CharlieLoweEFC stop trying to be a tool and realize that Bon Iver, while it is multiple people, is a singular pronoun. you wouldn't say "Maroon 5 are awesome" or "Manchester United are awesome"

Maybe I'm stupid or something, but I've tried to listen to an MP3 of this at 50% speed in Audacity and still couldn't follow what was going on. I'm going try to tab this out.
@keziski that is true! but i found the 6 to be a bit more of a stressed or dominant beat in the bar so went with the 'and uh' (which just feel like a sugue to beat 1 of the next bar) rather than 7 and 8. I see how i was misleading but really just explaining how i think of the patterning of the beats rather than the actual time signature.
That hammer is SUCH a pain in the ass. I watched a video of them performing it on Jimmy Fallon and it looks SO easy, but I think that's because they have three guitars!
hey man. Nice tutorial. I also posted a Holocene cover. The real finger picking pattern sounds so easy but is actually quite difficult. I gave up and just strummed it instead. Time signature is also very funky. Nice attempt though. Best I have seen.
Can you do a cover for towers by Bon Iver, and tell us what notes they are. There are other covers out there that are not very descriptive.

your saying "and uh", but give it the same time as the 1 2 3 4 5 6, so really you could say 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8, replacing and with 7 and uh with 8
