i put this motor in my chevelle. its hands down the best choice i made!! the power is unreal. its hard to find supporting parts that do not break on the street. i am 2 rears, snapped lugs clean off. broke rear mounts. but motor never skips a beat!
They glow red for many reasons, Your compressing air in return has a very hot outlet temp from just the S/C outlet in conjunction with already hot combusted air/fuel or exhaust, usually cooled by an intercooler and also the excess pressure rapidly forcing the combusted mix out of the cylinder and partial scavenging in or near the bend of the header primaries could be at fault. Mostly the output heat is greater when air is forced to be inducted.
0:09 Kompressor gut und recht, aber den würd ich nur für niedrige Drehzahlen nehmen, für höhere Drehzahlen ist ein Turbo Pflicht, um ordentlich Leistung rauszuholen :)

Don't believe anything from magnuson, I bought one it is total junk, will not put out half of what they tell you. all the crap from Dutweiller is BS, read the fine print. the company doesn't return calls, the techs are clueless
i had the exhaust of a Honda XR-75 glowing red hot (in broad daylight) when i was 12 years old,,,doing a brakestand for like almost 10 minutes, doesent mean a thing...
@outocontroll Oh ok, what's the difference between the L92 and the LS3 heads? I've been reading that they have ALMOST the same flow rates, combustion chamber size, and valve sizes....
heat doesnt make anything move.... pressure does...heat is still an exhaust enemy. heat by definition is wasted energy. to have proper exhuast flow, you need to time the exhaust pulses properly to create a vacuum that helps pull the next pulse out of the engine. By no means does heat help anything...
you need heat...heat is not an enemy to an exhaust system. why do you think they have products out there to wrap your headers or coat them? keep them hotter and helps move the exhaust gases. what you said about headers is true, they need to be made at specific lengths and diameters. but keeping heat in the exhaust system is like one of the basics to making power...in most race applications you'll see some form of insulation on the exhaust
a toyota 4 cylinders exhaust will glow red like that it doesnt mean your car is gonna catch fire just keep any wires and hoses away from it i think its just cool as hell this motor i want it in a 69 repro camaro
The efficiency and torque production of this supercharger is, I would say, unprecedented by any other power adder. 855 lb.-ft. at 2500 rpm?! You just won't see that kind of production with an 8-71 atop of a big-block. You wouldn't dare engage nitrous at such a low speed, and even turbos...fuuggett about it! And to think that it's driven off of the crankshaft.

this engine has a lot more left in it,,, it sounds like the charger cant keep up. i bet it makes 1100 with a turbo!

Kind of sounds like the belt is slipping near the end of each run.
intheshitter 2 years ago
No, the belt is not slipping. That is the whine of the supercharger rotors at high RPM.

the efficiency i am guessing is 30-40 percent max a bi -turbo would be more efficient
anon510 2 years ago
But it still wouldn't have such low speed torque and horsepower...or basically full power at ANY engine speed
madtownmadman 2 years ago 3
no turbo lag though
