  • i just purchase one its not cheap mazda ds cost me 27k with the warranty

  • Road and track got low 9's for 0-60 and 67.4mph in slalom (which is 350Z territory).

  • C and D clocked it's 0-60mph time at 9.1 seconds. That's not bad. There are a lot of cars on the market that can't go that quickly to 60mph. My wife bought one and it's a blast to drive. What it lacks in straight line power it more than makes up for in it's cornering reflexes. This is first "cheap" car I've ever driven that actually makes me smile.

  • pretty slow

  • Mazda's line-up all have far above average slalom times , it's not just the speed its the time thru the slalom thats crucial and they left it out as with the Mazda3 the 2 ripps thru the slalom and is stable while doing it . I have tested it thoroughly and it has not go a serious competitor in the class , in Fact it gives the MINI a serious run for the money at 10$K less !!! don't knock it til you drive it - it screamsand makes mince meat out of the Yaris, Scion , Fiesta , Prius name any one.

  • That was pretty good -- It smokes the Ford Fiesta , I sincerely wish the Americans would step up and make good cars like the Mazda-2 . I compared this to the Fiesta and the Fiesta has 119 HP vs Mazda's 98 but the Mazda is faster and out handles the Fiesta in EVERY contest, acceleration, stopping , slalom you name it , also the Fiesta is Made in Mexico ...how is that and American car ? the Mazda-2 Made 100% in Japan and its shows in the numbers-drove both--absolutley NO contest Mazda 2 Fiesta-0--

  • @Cruzemssle You bring up a very good point, and I agree. However, I think it needs to be said that this class of car is all about fuel-economy for the consumer. Now I personally would give up 40 mpg to have such a fun car, but bagging on the Americans for making a car exactly for this "cheap" class of automobiles doesn't quite make sense. I almost feel like the Mazda 2 shouldn't be compared to the Fiesta, Yaris, Prius, etc.

  • those r some really suckish numbers lol

  • @awesomestuff814 For a sub-compact? What are you talking about? Those numbers make the other sub-compacts on the market weep in jealousy.

  • Why would a Mazda 2 owner or potential buyer care about track numbers?

  • please review the bugatti veyron

  • PLEASE REVIEW THE SUBARU LOYALE!!!

  • i wonder how long it had to back up to get that speed for that slalom

  • This reminds me of a new version of the Geo Metro. A Metro GT.

  • @ACDC4life1 don't forget, the driver is pushing it to it's limits

  • Isn't this a watered down version of the ford fiesta?

  • @masterkdrifter the auto version has a better engine then a fiesta but yeah same car underneath different suspension

  • mazdaspeed2 would be amazing

    this.. sucks

  • @ACDC4life1 It is stable, because the pro driver proved it.

  • Mazda2= BULLSHIT

  • Seems decent for what it is. It's comparable to the Chevy Aveo, Hyundai Accent, Kia Rio etc.

  • LOL Sorry, not even close to being better than the Ford Fiesta!

  • pretty poor brake distance for such a small car ...

  • You put a turbo on this car, then you'll need to upgrade the brakes and suspension. Totally defeating the purpose. You want a hot hatch with a turbo, look elsewhere. This is just an economy car with cute characteristics. In layman terms, it is what it is.

  • They need to stick a turbocharger or something on that thing!

  • @radudeATL it's supposed to be a really really cheap economy car. Not everyone needs a sportscar :D

  • They handle well I rented one in Cyprus, suspension far too hard, so hard in fact that the whole dash and glovebox would shake.

Punchy performance from a 1.3 litre motor; good finish.

Its a Ford Fiesta underneath, I will go for the Ford its looks better, cheaper service costs, providing the suspension is not so damn uncomfortable.

  • I feel bad for the people that buy this car !

  • wow thats well terrible for a small car

  • first xD

  • why that car?
