  • I was born and grew up on my grandparents farm in(1943) rule northeastern North Carolina. My first radio was a Crystal set which required no electricity and was connected to an out side antenna,a wire that was strung from pole to house about 100 foot long, this was my connection to the outside world and all the great songs.I would have to say Brenda Lee was my favorite singer.I not only liked rock and roll but loved them sad country songs.we had a swimming hole on the creek ,life was simple.

  • @cloverhole Where in Eastern NC? My dad and grandfather both grew up near the Hertford- Elizabeth City area, and I live near Raleigh. Oh, the music is great too ;)

  • @cloverhole It does sound like life was simple and innocent back then. I always think of how it would be growing up in that time period

  • @cloverhole My dad (1938) came to the US in '59 after immigrating from Mexico to Denver, Colorado. Then he moved to SF, California. He sometimes tells me about life back then, and the fashion trends and such. Nothing quite beats stories like that.

  • j'adore cette chanson nostalgie des bonnes année 50 et belle américaines je parle bien des superbe voitures

  • awesome fkin love it

  • that is a really good song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why can't music be like this today?

  • The 50s when america was great and Lady Gaga was not around to make you want to blow your brains out.

  • the reason why this video has so many views is because i play it more than anyone else :)

  • this made my grease melt!!

  • @cloverhole Born 5 years later and I know what you mean!!

  • @cloverhole hey i was wondering from your point of view, what was it like going through the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s?

  • @cloverhole i get depressed all the time because i wish i had your life time..

  • @cloverhole I'm a teenager in this world and I wish I could of been born back then. Everything was so cool!

  • @cloverhole Oh boy, you've been lucky to born in those years.

  • @cloverhole what about the war? and you know .............the nazis?

  • I wish I was born in the start 40's... Then i'll be cruising around in my big Cadillac and listen to Dion & The Belmonts, Eddie Cochran, Jerry Lee Lewis and all the aother great music-pioneers... man i would love that! :)

  • This song is on christine.

  • @jrickabaugh10 There's so much good music in that movie!

  • Rojownicy Tarczownicy !!

  • This song is annoying. Thank god I didn't grow up back in this era. I would have shot myself.

  • @TheFireWithin2779 I just dont see a purpose in coming to a video just to say bad things about the song...

  • @TheFireWithin2779 ha kill yaself over a song yeh? u got problems maybe?

  • @TheFireWithin2779 that's what your grand kids will say about todays garbage

  • @TheFireWithin2779 You probably would of gotten your assed kicked...a alot..

  • the sopranos brought me here

  • So true, kids are so screwed up now compared to past generations and it really shows in their music. I did not grow up in the doo-wop era, but I learned to love it in the 70's and 80's.

  • im 15 i been listenin to doowop since i was 10

  • @Xxroute55xX

Your post made me very happy! Unfortunately your generation is growing up in a time of classless talentless celebrities. it makes me happy to see that your one of the few kids who have discovered good music and appreciate it. keep rockin kid!

  • so nice this song.....

  • anyone know why a 13 loves classic music?, it's cause i hate the crap they play today

  • @BIoodrender It's got nothing to do with age. stop bragging of your superiority for being better. I am 14 but noone gives a sh--

  • @BIoodrender It means that you aren't screwed up like most people are today. It means you have good taste in music.

  • what is all this brought me here crap. tis just a quality song

  • dion and the belmonts brought me here. imagine that

  • @readerovdoom Crazy! coz my grand-daughters name is Skye Dionne Balmont and that brought me here?

  • @gkopacz what you against Italians?

  • @jkoncz Pretty much yeah...freakin dago...Hahaha. I grew up in NY. Some of my best friends are italian and I married one so i can say that LOL

  • @gkopacz Try and find a song by Vince Vance and the Valiants called I'maDago, To the tune of Amadeus, lots of Italiano references.

  • XV brought me here :D

  • The Sopranos.

  • Just fucking great. What else needs to be said.

  • Popular music back in the 50's and 60's was about good voices and small bands. Music now, lots of lound noise and drowned out voices-I might even sound good now!. Thanks for putting Dion and the Belmonts on.

  • thumbs up if the sopranos brought you here 12 years ago! first episode!

  • @killertim101 i was one, 12 years ago so...

  • mickey mantle wont pay my rent!

  • I was going to listen to 50s music then i took an arrow to the knee... i still went and listend to 50s music

  • @uGxSNiiPeZ bc pussies only lose when an arrow hits you

  • remember this in the movie bronx tale

  • I listen to a lot of metal and punk rock and I often joke about starting a du wop core band where we can make new songs plus cover jams like this. None of my buddies are down for this idea.

  • @xxspliffsmokexx

omg how old r u guys? and u shld!!!!!!! i would soo love to hear how u guys end up!

  • @cupcakesporvida Me and the posse are all going to be 30 this year.

  • this was my favorite song when it first came out

  • Got dammm it!!! I lov!!

  • thumbs up if XV brought u here

  • <3

  • i may be young but i sure do love oldies

  • who is else loves peggy sue got married?

  • @glowstixification One of the best movies ever made!

  • Who else is here from XV?

  • The epitome of great, white, NY, uptempo doo wop. Paved the way for a great outburst of great white groups from 1959=1963.

  • I get a feeling of nostaliga everytime I listen to these songs. Even though I wasn't alive in teh 50's and 60's. It would've been great, though. Things suck these days. People confused fun with some other bullshit that's fucking boring.

  • Yep still my fa v song thumbs up if you hate the new junk with its auto tune!

  • This is THE anthem of Doo-Wop! WOO HOO!!

  • dosent the begining of the song just make you smile :D

  • reminds me of my dad working on his car and smashing his hand and yelling outside and mary sue coming to the rescue

  • Makes me think of my '53 pontiac

  • looks like Christine is good at making everyone cum ahaha

  • A Bronx Tale brought me here :)

  • @michaelundert Yea A Bronx Tale. Wooo!

  • @elvismjbeatles143 Deuces Wild Also! haah

  • @michaelundert The Sopranos brought me here, the first episode lol

  • @michaelundert it comes out in the movie i never heard it

  • Fear and loathing brought me here....

  • I dunno....

  • this is AWESOME!!!!!! how come nobody knows this anymore!

  • I wonder why, they make shitty music like they do

is it because kid's heads are made of poo

I wonder why they make shityy music like they do da da da da da da dun dun dun dun!

  • I've been listening to the covers of this tune by a variety of groups here on YouTube - but this is the essential take without question. The combination of Dion's voice, cast in iron for this and that mega-magnificent machine gun-like bass singer driving the: det det det det point home to us. The bass singer's voice becomes an integral part of the song weaving itself in and out of the lyrics and musical passages. It almost competes with and in effect becomes a second lead. We're riveted by it.

  • I came, then i decided to listen to music afterwards.

  • a bronx tale baby

  • the one thing i love about this music is NO AUTOTUNE!!!!

Im sick of flipping electronic voice correction and synth sounds (Trust me, I love synths form the 80s/90s, but now with dubstep, its just crap..)

Truly amazing music, I love it it always makes me feel good!

Im 14 at least some people have taste!!

  • @unusedteabag im 14 too. i cant stand autotuned crap.

  • daym this always reminds me on my 65 chevy pick-up hahaha I WONDER WHY????? Hahaha

  • okay what i don't get is why YouTube has a dislike button i mean really if you don't like Dion don't fricken look him up! :)

  • @Jinxydollxoxo LOL you're right, Jinx. I always thought the same thing.

  • Today someone told me Christine didn't exist. I played this song as I killed them.

  • who cares why you came here as long as you came

  • @bigjerseydog1270 hahahahah... yea im immature..

  • I came to this song because I have been listening to it since it came out over 50 years ago, not because I am culturally handicapped.

  • I don't know who the f**k Christine even is.

  • @oneleggedspider you got that right listen to do wop my young friend

  • @oneleggedspider Depressing, isn't it, how bad music sucks today? Because the present is supposed be what's best, but for music it's really the very worst.

  • @oneleggedspider I never realized how badly life sucks today until I started talking to people from the 40s and 50s.

  • @thewillfulldreamer

LOL.......The 70's even kick ass. The "new millennium" is BS.

  • @VonHelton Haha yeah I know. Sometimes I think I was born into the wrong time.

  • @ProvosAttYourDoor That is a quite inappropriate comment. I'd rather not say anything to disrespect you, but that is a very negative way to think and speak. I'm here for the music, not racism and swearing, and this is all coming from a 13 year old.

Stay on the bad side of YouTube, okay?
