I was born and grew up on my grandparents farm in(1943) rule northeastern North Carolina.My first radio was a Crystal set which required no electricity and was connected to an out side antenna,a wire that was strung from pole to house about 100 foot long,this was my connection to the outside world and all the great songs.I would have to say Brenda Lee was my favorite singer.I not only liked rock and roll but loved them sad country songs.we had a swimming hole on the creek ,life was simple.

I've been listening to the covers of this tune by a variety of groups here on YouTube - but this is the essential take without question.
