Miroslav Philharmonik Training 1/5 - Overview - Great orchestra samples

Can anybody help me? I just purchased the Composer Trio and am having lots of problems with Philharmonik. Namely I cant get any of the instruments to load. I did the "Pref" thing and it understands what I'm asking but still nothing. I tried to reinstall the "Sounds" disc but it canceled halfway saying something about an update I installed and I need to contact the manufacturer. I was wondering if I uninstalled the program and just restarted if that would be ok. Somebody please help!

@ikmultimedia I just bought the software today. The instruments aren't in the sidebard, so I went to the FAQ's on your website. I followed the instructions (I went to preferences and selected instruments), but the instruments still aren't there, and whenever I select them through the drop-down menu, it says "PART 1: Instrument Not Found". Please help.

@limeburst1 You must download and install the instruments separately. They come with their own separate installer. This should be in the Installation and Authorization Manual that comes with the product and shows up as a PDF in the same folder as the main installer.  If you bought the boxed version you would still need to install the sounds separately. If you still have problems, please contact support and they can help you

@deathinbrasil You can use most MIDI controllers, as long as you are able to connect it to your computer via MIDI interface or similar (depends on the controller). @pickyricky1 For strings, you may want detache articulations. For others, check the portato articulations. Not every instrument will have every articulation, but you can also try emphasizing the attack by using the ASDR controls.

@sleepersoundstudio These are from 2 years ago, newer videos will definitely be of better quality. You can hear the sounds directly yourself if you download the demo, though.

I've installed Miroslav Philharmonik but Cubase isn't seeing it.

In Cubase, I've added the path in which the instruments to the VST 2.x list and updated the its VST Plug-Ins. But when I press F11 and click on no instrument, Miroslav Philharmonik isn't shown.

Couild you please advise how I can fix this? If you can I'd be extremely thankful.

Can the stand alone version be controlled through reason rewire. I.e. reason is the sequencer for the device?

@macikosan I know this is 2 months old, but I loaded up the stand-alone to check for you. I don't think it is rewire enabled, but there are work-arounds. On a Mac, you can enable your IAC driver (Google) and output the midi from Reason et al. to Miroslav. For Windows, check out MIDI Yoke, which will let you route midi however you need.

why some sounds (like the violin solo) do not sound when the notes plays fast? Sometimes seems to crawl and sometimes simply do not sound.

@rolldito Sounds like you might have a problem with your audio or MIDI interface. Also note that some sounds have a slower attack (on purpose, that's the nature of some of the sounds). Please contact tech support if you are having trouble

@TheFulkanelli No, it is its own product with its own interface but since it is "Powered By SampleTank" you can load all its sounds from within SampleTank if you do have it. This includes also the free engine that we now have available at our site (which also comes with 500MB sounds!)

@majudua in fl studio we have something called the 'portamento' button if we turn that on, we can then use portamento slider to tell FL how much of the sliding/glissing effect we want. it's pretty handy, but pitch bend is for professionals like scott storch lol

@ikmultimedia hear hear, but again as much as Dvorak's music is timeless, it was a comment about 'showing off' the plugin. I don't want my love of classical music undermined because of a comment which didn't even mention the composer. Personally I think some John Adams (short ride in a fast machine) or Holst or even Stravinsky would demonstrate the awesome capabilities of Miroslav better, but that's my opinion. No disrespect to anyone :)

@JamesMulvale yep you should be allowed an opinion, but only just...i hate compositional degrees... no offence...but most composers get the pitch via contacts, business skills rather than talent..after all it is a business. 99% sweat..and 1% talent. Working in TV ad's-stings is the lowest form in composition. I know it sucks but hey...we all gotta to start somewhere....and we don't need a degree in music for that. Btw i like Dvorak.

@bally28 You're right you don't need a degree. Like most composers, I was writing from a very early age but there is absolutely nothing wrong with studying it academically. Countless famous composers studied composition and I stand by my choice to do so. I don't know why you're getting so uppety about this, and I'm not going to lose any sleep because of it. Earning a modest living doing something I adore is better than earning big money doing a job I hate :)

@FreestyleEntOnline i've been using this plug-in for a year now. i am definitely pleases with it. the only bad thing about it is that the sound are kind of thin. but just add compression and do a little mixing and this stuff sounds as good as it gets.

I have VSL and Garratan but MV is by far the best of the three. VSL might have a SLIGHT edge in brass but that is all. MV is significantly better in strings and woodwinds. Given the price differential this is a no brainer. MV actually sounds like an orchestra - the others sound quite artificial, and in many cases in the strings, especially VSL, the samples sound scratchy and anything but sweet. You won't regret getting MV but you might regret other buying other alternatives.

@thismortalsoil92 install as normal, making sure to check you've installed the vst as well as stand alone. Then, open FL9, go to: Chanels>add one>more, and click "refresh". It should show up in red in the list of vsts. Check the box beside it (when checked, there's an F in the box). Double click on it's name. It should open.

The next time you need to use Philharmonic in FL9, all you have to do is: Chanels>add one and it should be listed there as "Philharmonic"

They truly are! I am using FL, but I do not have a MIDI keyboard (yes, I am "clicking out" the notes). I have found that my ram gets short rather quickly. You talk about deleting the loaded sound and by doing this freeing up ram, but when I try it the setting dissappears (and goes silent). How should I do it?

I bought it last month and cannot believe the sounds this package offers....when you listen to the woodwinds you can hear the wind from the players mouth passing through the instrument...on the strings you can hear the bow on the strings....just add reverb to open up the sound.

i think the midi tracks need to be in channel 1,2, 3, 4, etc respectively...i've never used the program but i'm pretty sure that's how it works
