The 650D would be perfect for me if: 1)The top would be raised just enough to get the H00 could get in in push pull and clear the motherboard; 2) there would be an intake in the bottom like the 500R; 3) two 4 HDD cages would replace the two 3 HDD ones; and 4) a bottom SSD cage would be put in along side the new bottom intake fan (like the Silverstone Temjin TJ04-e). Those modifications would make this a truly awesome case that I would buy in a second.
I enjoy your reviews a lot. They are very thorough and I find out things I may have not thought about. It would be great if this case and the 600T could be reviewed in regards to air cooling temperatures for the HDDs, Video Card and RAM. A side window is great but that leaves only the front intake for inflow of air.
@4thNebula yea i feel the 600t is a better case for the price you can put near any water cool rad and air cooled will work and it will fit any gfx card and your right you never get temps for cases
can yo u fit a rx360 rad in the top if you keep the top drive bay free? and if it does fit can i put a rx120 on the rear without it interfering with the top rad?
not hating here bro, just giving some feedback, But I have seen a few of your vids and I am subscribed, but you should make these alot shorter, I think you would get more views. you know maybe uner 15 mins. Make a vlog if you want regular users to keep up with what your up to! Just my opinion thanks!
@xbesteverx1 The best thing about his reviews is that there long so he can give lots of information. If you want a short review were some guy reads the manufactures specs watch linustechtips or motherboardorg.
@crimson177 I agree with you actually, I like that there covering everything...not just box specs. but 30 minutes for me is a liiiitle to long. I suppose its best to havea full opinon on these products at the prices they are though right.
Hey man do you know if an H60 on a push-pull will fit in with two top mounted 140mms filling the exhaust vent? Is there enough clearance for the rad? It's a little hard to get a good idea with the video. (The rad is 120mm x 152mm x 27mm)
I am looking for a case I can put in a left corner, I love the 650D, but It's a little pricey, I have also looked at the Fractal Arc Midi (just to give you an idea of my aesthetic) do you have any other cases like this that you would reccomend? needs to be flat on the side, and I like a sleak/expensive look.
@itskevinheath well there's the Fractal Design R3 , Coolermaster Silencio or the two you mentioned oh and the bitFenix cases are quits minimal on looks. hope this helps
@xiRaDiiuM The Silencio is close to what I am looking for, but my rig requires a bit more airflow then that case seems to offer (i7 2600k, 2x 6950s, 16gb ram...)
I have considered the r3, but again airflow comes to mind. I do like the idea of a silent case and have considered dishing out the extra $ for the Silverstone FT02. the BitFenix Raider or Shinobi may be just what I am looking for, though both have some minor drawbacks.
@itskevinheath The R3 does shift a fair amount of air despite its looks (with 1 less fan than the NZXT H2) it has better temps than it because of the slots down the door for the fans to beath which is lacking with the H2.
The Shinobi has nice looks but not a fan of the hdd mounting or the soft touch but that's me being picky, I own the 650D and its a great little case no doubt about that.
@xiRaDiiuM yeah i agree, i have this case and want to see the water cooling options for it, hardware labs make 280mm rads that will fit in this case as their fan spacings are the 20mm required :D
@smbwrc I just got this case 4 days ago and I LOVE IT!, im planning on watercooling over the Christmas period but a little thought on what parts I need and setup needed <- noob to WC
@xiRaDiiuM meh that wat i was hoping ^_^ awesome thanks :D deff getting one thow just got my water cooling kit comes in wednesday gona be so awesommme
hey Tom, do you know of ANY modern case on the market today, that is great for air cooling AND can either rotate the hard drive cages 90 degrees so as to optimize airflow to the vid card, OR to remove al lcages completely and relocate the hdd to an optical drive bay, with adapter?
i actually ended up going wit the Raven RV03, 3Dgameman convinced me with his good review, also, i had a couple amazon gift cards so i only paid like 40 bucks with free shipping rofl, couldn't beat that
@AlaskanMeTuber good choice :) no obstructions in the way. I have a fortress FT-02 and think its fanstastic, silverstone really have a winner with their 90 degree rotated motherboard area.
If i throw an H60 in there and I have it sucking are in via push-pull from the back of the case, you think the stock exhaust on the top will be enough or should I get 2 140mm fans?
Unrelated- I plan on putting a piece of tinted window film on the side panel and getting some subtle, red or blue lights on the inside. i think it will be sexy. opinion?
Amazing Review & Amazing Case! Personally give the case a gold review for me ticks all the boxes, and for the extra money you do get that bit extra quality.
-G skill rip jaws 8gb kit (2x4gb @ 2133) can i use to of these for 16gb ?? will it fit on the board?
-Asus 1gb GTX560
-PSU? unsure what to use will need one with heaps of connectors for when i fill the corsair bays and for graphics and fans.
that's my basic plan atm if you could give me tips on what could be better for a similar price or if this is all compatible it would be much appreciated thanks
@ReliquumVae waiting for parts still :( but have good hopes that it should turn out ok . .lately been scouring the local classifieds to find cheap ssds but its hard to find any for a reasonable price
@77boomerang this was made to be an entry level water cooling case the top was made to give clearance for a 240mm to a 280mm rad depending on if you use 120mm or 140mm fans. It is such a good case all around because of the functionality of the case. I have it using a nhd-14 love it, but if i wanted higher temps and wanted it to be louder i could mount an h100 push pull on top. Then again theres Ek, koolance etc. carbide 500r:200mm on side, 2 120mms in front. VS 650d 200mm on top and side window.
If I removed the drivebays, would there be room for a 240 rad on the floor? And possibly a 200mm rad with the stock fans in push-pull in front of that?
@BlessedTheExodus I very much doubt it. If you are modding savvy then a 200mm rad in the front can be done, you would have to get the rad in front and then have a play with spacing on the extra 240 but I dont think it would be an option I would look at.
@TimeToLiveCustoms I found a buildlog that shows the 200mm rad installed without mods. I found that after I commented. Thank you for replying and making awesome videos though!
if i were to ever use such an insanely thick radiator, i would probably mount the fans on the top considering the top fan portion is recessed a little on the outside. may look a little hokey but who pays attention to the top of their computer? thats just what i would do. but then again, if i were to do such a large water cooling system, i would score an 800D instead. this case would be PERFECT with the H100 cooler.
Sweet video! I am considering this case because my current one is well.. shit.
This case has everything I want ever, but how is the airflow? That is an important issue for me. I heard the 200mm fans were a bit thin and flimsy and didn't move much air.
Hey TTL, can you tell us exactly how many millimeters there is between the top grill and the mosfet heatsink? Knowing that would make picking out a radiator so much easier. Gold all the way, since the price has gone down a bit since this video was shot.
Btw, this is the first of your videos I've seen, awesome review, I subscribed :)
@XxColdFusionxX LOL you keep removing the comments after Ive replied! 50mm max is about all I can remember dude. Sure I said about it in the video. any bigger than that and motherboard would become an issue.
@TimeToLiveCustoms That was a fast reply! I kept changing the comment with after thoughts I had lol :P. Thanks for the fast reply, I look forward to more of your reviews!
@ympkilla Just to explain myself... well the airflow is not bad but probably not perfect as well for an all-on-air cooling Though if you get your hands wet with water it will surely do
@TimeToLiveCustoms but the corsair 650d purposefully has a grille at the bottom of the case below the PSU, and a dust filter for the purpose of flipping the PSU upside down ?
@Loolge so why does it have the mounts both ways then??? LOL PSU's dont get hot. I understand what you are saying but it just doesnt work like that, it doesnt matter what way round it goes.
@TimeToLiveCustoms Because some full tower cases, have the PSU mount on the top of the case, instead the bottom. So I recommend changing it. 1: better cooling.
2. Better airflow in the case, because the PSU doesn't suck that air in.
@TheXshot mate Ive spoken to many different people in the industry and been apart of that industry for years now. Its all about aesthetics... Nothing else. PSU's dont get hot nor do they have any real airflow to worry about. case should be dust filtered anyways. Honestly dude the more you post back the more Im laughing tbh :D Its a very uneducated opinion people formulate from lack of knowlege and understanding. You are just overcomplicating an issue that doesnt exist.
@TimeToLiveCustoms I liked you... but now that you're making fun of me... What I meant is, it's sucking a bit of air out of the case, into the PSU. I didn't say it was a big deal.
Also why do you think there's a dust filter UNDER the PSU?
(In every Corsair video, they have the fan facing down. (Hydro series installation guides, 650d promo. How to build a computer video by Newegg etc.)
I'm not saying it's a big deal, but in that case, it was meant to be facing down :)
According to Corsair, the 600T and 650D use basically the same chassis. The only thing different is the top, and the fans.
The 600T is the modders dream. You can do anything with it (more than the 650D). Look at the up to 4 rad water builds in the Graphite club (600T) at overclock>dot>net.
Oh man, they increased the area at the top of the mobo because the 600T has an area under the top grill that the 650D doesn't have. So, you can actually fit a large rad in the 600T because the fans go on the outside under the top mesh (something the 650D cannot do). I have modded my 600T case to allow an H100 on top with push/pull using standard 120mm fans. Lets see the 650D (which I love too) do that.
Love your vids mate. Just subscribed. one question any idea when we can see the corsair obsidian 650d water cooled mod. Am thinking of doing this with the Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD4 colours in black and white mod or Asus ROG Maximus IV Extreme-Z Z68 in black and red mod. Cpu and Gpu water cooled. Gonna be my first ever build. And have an evga gtx 580 in sli. Am thinking of using IandH Stealth reservoir 175 will this work thanks
Brilliant review even though you were in a hurry, lucky bugger getting to see Suzy Perry ;-) pretty damn cool case as well, can't go wrong with a Corsair though!! :-)
Any news on the second part of this review Tom? Interested in this case or either one of the Silverstone Ravens (RV02/3) just not sure which be better for a air build using SLI and a overclocked i5. What would you choose?
will a g1 sniper fit in this?

Nvedia is like apple and AMD is like Microsoft. Nvedia cares about space while AMD does not.
btw it was a comment dont hate the comment

Will the H100 fit with a push/pull configuration?
whiteoreoxx 5 months ago
it looks a decent case and I would give it a very polished silver award
ympkilla 5 months ago
@ympkilla Just to explain myself... well the airflow is not bad but probably not perfect as well for an all-on-air cooling Though if you get your hands wet with water it will surely do
ympkilla 5 months ago
This or 600t white? I'm planning on air cooling. Also why do u do with cases and stuff u don't use? U shud do giveaways

TTL you still building a rig into the 650D?

@pillar2post no matey sorry

Give him a break lol
To be fair the psu gets Berger airflow with the fan pulling air from the bottom.. BUT does look ugly so yeah fan upwards ftw

Your PSU is upside down. The fan should be facing downward.

TimeToLiveCustoms 5 months ago
@TimeToLiveCustoms but the corsair 650d purposefully has a grille at the bottom of the case below the PSU, and a dust filter for the purpose of flipping the PSU upside down ?
knfbnny 5 months ago
@TimeToLiveCustoms Actually, there's a dust filter, so the psu fan should face downward.
TheXshot 5 months ago
@TimeToLiveCustoms It should. The bottom is perforated so your psu can get fresh air from beneath the case.
Loolge 5 months ago
@Loolge so why does it have the mounts both ways then??? LOL PSU's dont get hot. I understand what you are saying but it just doesnt work like that, it doesnt matter what way round it goes.
TimeToLiveCustoms 5 months ago
@TimeToLiveCustoms Because some full tower cases, have the PSU mount on the top of the case, instead the bottom. So I recommend changing it. 1: better cooling.
2. Better airflow in the case, because the PSU doesn't suck that air in.
3. Less dust in the PSU means longer lifetime.
TheXshot 5 months ago
@TheXshot mate Ive spoken to many different people in the industry and been apart of that industry for years now. Its all about aesthetics... Nothing else. PSU's dont get hot nor do they have any real airflow to worry about. case should be dust filtered anyways. Honestly dude the more you post back the more Im laughing tbh :D Its a very uneducated opinion people formulate from lack of knowlege and understanding. You are just overcomplicating an issue that doesnt exist.
TimeToLiveCustoms 5 months ago

OriginalMergatroid 6 months ago
Oh man, they increased the area at the top of the mobo because the 600T has an area under the top grill that the 650D doesn't have. So, you can actually fit a large rad in the 600T because the fans go on the outside under the top mesh (something the 650D cannot do). I have modded my 600T case to allow an H100 on top with push/pull using standard 120mm fans. Lets see the 650D (which I love too) do that.

im making a custom rig in this case, its kinda budget
Corsair Obsidian 650D €144
Intel Core i7 2600K €250
Asus P8Z68-V €126
XFX Black Edition 750W € 100
Corsair Vengeance €44
Sapphire HD6950 €220
Total 884
How do you think this will do in gaming? Please andswer your videos are the best <3
TheBornSniper 6 months ago
@TheBornSniper BTW the vengeance is 8 GB DDR3
TheBornSniper 6 months ago
@TheBornSniper I think it will do fairly well. If I was you Id just get the i5 2500k and spend the money you save getting a GTX570 from Nvidia
TimeToLiveCustoms 6 months ago
@TimeToLiveCustoms Haha, Thanks for the reply i can add some budget to it i guess :D

PersonalConspiracys 6 months ago
@PersonalConspiracys 650D is better, the 800D has major airflow issues.
GamerX7800X 6 months ago
