Y'all don't even sell this, or the Legacy HB. I figured it would be listed on your site with "Out of stock", but y'all just don't sell it. Why review it?
@fallenentity2 As a G&L dealer, we can order any model you'd like. All USA G&L's are custom ordered so once it is sold, we take it down. We can certainly order anything you want to your specs. Please call 503-670-4949 for any further questions. Thank you!
@BillEvans1956 - For shipping costs please add the item to your cart and hit the "calculate shipping" button. If you have further questions feel free to give our customer service dept. a call at 503-670-4949, or email them using the contact form on our website. Thanks!
@BillEvans1956 Don't forget import tax! You'll have to pay an extra 21% or so of the total cost of both the guitar AND the shipping to customs before they'll let it in the country. Just something to consider.
@aektzis91 - Every G&L we have is built to our specs, so each one is a little different. This particular Bluesboy had an Alnico V humbucker, but a Seth Lover is also an option should you want to order a custom G&L. Hope that clears things up. Thanks!
How much difference is there in the Maple fretboard compared to the rosewood tone wise? Just wondering if there's more TWANG in a Tele Maple fretboard and a Strat maple fretboard?
@saiyan195 THESE are made in America, and then there is a 'Tribute' series made in Indonesia. Don't be fooled, I ordered an Indonesian one. Why? They're 10x better than American Fenders.
I've said this before Andy, but thanks again for being the only guitar reviewer on YouTube that PLAYS SONGS to review guitars. That is valid info. Endless wankers riffing tells a potential buyer nothing.
I'm not sure about a moment of insanity I had. I purchased seymour duncan's vintage blues '59 set for my mahogany guitar. Do I have to put the bridge pickup higher than then neck? How close to the strings am going?
*Punch* Not only are you wrong, but tuners souldn't lock. Yo have to stretch out the physical string or you'e only getting a percentage of the strings potential.
I like the darker tone of the rosewood neck, but what happened to the standard seth lover neck pu? That was the whole design concept! Cuttin costs, I guess I added a seymour duncan ssl to the middle...mine has locking tuners.
seriously man? keep your strings fresh and make sure you thoroughly stretch them and you will never have tuning problems with this guitar. I own it and it's amazing! Get the Seth Lover pickup in the neck though. It sounds much better than the Alnico V in this video.
It's not an Alnico-5 at the neck, it's a '55 Seth Lover Humbucker. Only for about a 4 month period did they do the Alnico pickup, the Seth stomps all over it!
A very general guideline is that yoru bridge pup should normally have 10 - 15% more ohms. So a 7.0 in the neck and a 7.8 in the bridge, as an example.
No but seriously, I'd love to try one of their guitars. The basses they make are stellar. Even the Tribute series plays amazing - and for a good price!
i wouldnt go that far my friend, my uncle has a vintage 51 nocaster and that thing can prob tear a hole through any guitar out there and while g&l are alot bettter than mass produced fenders i still think the fender custom shop and pre cbs guitars has them beat
Only an idiot would call a G and L a "Fender wannabe" when the namesake (Leo Fender) is behind them. Yuh, he's the wannabe of HIMSELF.
More like G and L is the evolution of Fender pre-CBS. It's where Fender would have gone had Leo kept control of the company. Maybe then the market wouldn't be flooded with TexMex, Japocasters and Throw-away Squires. Just a thought..
@moucon I manage a guitar shop in Memphis and constantly I get guys looking for strats and teles that don't want anything to do with "those fender copies" on the wall. Why do I have to explain what you just said to every guitar player in town? G&L is the greatest thing since the 50's and 60's.

How much difference is there in the Maple fretboard compared to the rosewood tone wise? Just wondering if there's more TWANG in a Tele Maple fretboard and a Strat maple fretboard?
hawg427 1 year ago
@hawg427
The general consensus among players is that maple is brighter, so there would probably be more "twang".
Of course, I can get a pretty warm tone from my maple fretboard guitars, so any difference in tone is debatable.
